1 Dear Sir/Madam I am writing to provide evidence that Dan Warne, Deliveroo's Managing Director, misled the Select Committee yesterday (February 22nd). He stated (at 10.18) that 'We don't mandate that [riders] show up to shifts' and further that 'nobody is penalised for not turning up'. In Leeds 2 riders have had their contracts terminated in the last fortnight for this specific reason. This is despite going through the correct 'absence request' procedure on our scheduling website 'Staffomatic'. This was without any notice or prior warning, and other riders have received either warnings or termination for not completing shifts. Deliveroo state that their service standard in this regard is to complete 80% of scheduled shifts. As Dan Warne was very keen to point out, many riders work very few shifts per week - as such even missing one Sunday night, as his example went, would be grounds for termination.
