2 SALES SENTINEL LINK The Sales Sentinel link below should be used for Flexible Benefits Plans affiliated selling agents and agencies as part of the onboarding and appointment process for Independence Blue Cross commercial group and individual business only. This link takes the selling agent or agency to a web based program that facilitates the license validation and appointment process. This program is also used for agent profile updates, such as address or phone number changes. In addition to supporting IBC s appointment process, this program enables the capture of FFM Marketplace credentials for the Individual market and FF SHOP. IBC requires this information to support commissions processing for sales, as well as compliance purposes. These requirements apply to both new and renewing agents. 4 LOGIN Upon selecting the provided link, you will be brought to the Login screen. New Users: o To gain access to the program, you must register and create an account. o Click on Click Here to Register to begin registration. Proceed with, REGISTRATION: NEW USERS Returning Users: o If you ve previously registered, you can login using your existing Username and Password. Proceed with, REGISTRATION: RETURNING USERS Forgotten Password: o Obtain a temporary password by clicking on forgot password? o The temporary password will be ed to you using your address on file. o Once you ve successfully logged in, you will reset your password using the My Profile tab. 4
5 REGISTRATION: NEW USERS Your screen will say, Registration for 2015 Independence Appointment Program: Flexible Benefits First Time Registrations o The first time you register in Sales Sentinel, you are prompted to enter your Social Security Number (SSN). o Your SSN will be defaulted as your Username, but you may change this on the following screen (the Registration page), or later, using the My Profile tab. Upon selecting Next, you will be taken to the Registration screen If you already have a profile in Sentinel, you will be returned to the Login screen with a message indicating your SSN already exists in Sales Sentinel and you will be asked to log in with your account to proceed. If you can t recall your Username, and are unable to login using your SSN, call Sentinel Technical Support at
6 REGISTRATION: FIRST TIME Registration Basic Contact Info Home Address Username: *Address 1: Required Information o You must fill in all required fields, indicated by an asterisk (*). *First Name: *Last Name: Middle Name: Suffix: Address 2: *City: *State: *Zip: Select State Username o You may elect to change your Username. o It must be at least 4 alphanumeric characters OR match your SSN exactly. SSN: Date of Birth: * Address: Mailing Address Same as Home Address *Address 1: Address 2: *City: Passwords require all of the following: o At least 8 characters in length o At least 1 uppercase letter o At least 1 number o At least 1 special character *Verify Address: *Password: *Verify Password: Secret Question: Secret Question Answer: Select Secret Question *State: *Zip: Address Type: Select State Select Address Type Save & Cont. *NPN: NPN Lookup Check Here *Primary Phone: ( ) Phone Extension: Click Save & Cont., to proceed with the appointment process 6
7 REGISTRATION: RETURNING USERS Verify Information o As a returning user, this screen is prepopulated with your information. o Verify that your information is correct, and update if needed. Required Confirmation o Confirm your address by reentering it in the Verify Address field. Click Save & Cont., to proceed with the new program 7
8 YOUR PROGRAM My Programs tab: o New users see the name of the program provided to them. o Returning users see the name of the new program provided to them, as well as any previously assigned. Open your Program o Click on the program s name, and the steps for the program will load. o Beginning with Welcome, click on the name of the program step to open and complete. 8
9 WELCOME/ INSTRUCTIONS SCREEN The Welcome screen provides an overview of the steps you will encounter, as well as information you will be expected to provide. The site will automatically guide you through the program. o Not all steps and requirements apply to every user, particularly if you are a returning user. Basic Navigation o Save & Cont. (or Next Step ) takes you to the next screen or step in the program. o Save for Later allows you to save your information and pick up where you left off when you return. o Navigation/Status bar (at top of screen) indicates where you are in the program, and enables easy return to steps begun or completed. Click Save & Cont., to proceed to the next step in your program 9
10 SELLING STATE AND LICENSE VALIDATION Confirm the state in which you intend to sell these products. An Independence program is valid for Pennsylvania only. Upon clicking Next Step, a state License Check will be initiated and you will be taken to the following screen 10
11 AGENT TO AGENCY RELATIONSHIP Unless instructed on a specific selection, review all options to be certain you are choosing the one appropriate to your situation. o All options recognize the Primary Agency referenced as Flexible Benefits. The selection made here will determine the steps and requirements necessary to successfully complete this program. o If currently submitting IBC business directly through Flexible Benefits as an independent producer (1 st option), proceed with, 2015 DEFAULT PRIMARY AGENCY SELECTION o If establishing yourself as a new Producing Agent, (2 nd option), proceed with, AGENT/AGENCY AGREEMENTS o If establishing a new Producing Agency, (3 rd option), proceed with, NEW AGENCY INFORMATION Instructions for this screen are continued on the next page 11
12 AGENT TO AGENCY RELATIONSHIP CONT. o If employed by Flexible Benefits, (4 th option), proceed with, MARKETPLACE REQUIREMENTS o If currently submitting IBC business through a Producing Agency affiliated with Flexible Benefits, (5 th / final option), the ability to select and identify that Producing Agency will be presented. proceed with, 2015 DEFAULT PRIMARY AGENCY SELECTION 12
13 2015 DEFAULT PRIMARY AGENCY SELECTION IBC supports an agent s or agency s ability to sell through multiple Primary Agencies. However, as was required for 2014, a default Primary Agency must be identified to be used for Marketplace commissions distribution ONLY when the Primary Agency cannot otherwise be determined. 13
14 NEW AGENCY INFORMATION New Producing Agencies: o Having indicated you are a designated responsible producer or principal for an agency, information is needed in order to establish the Producing Agency as an appointed business entity. o Complete all required fields, indicated by an asterisk (*). Business Entity Identifiers o A Producing Agency must have a Tax ID. This is not your personal SSN. o The agency must also be licensed in Pennsylvania. This is not your personal state license number. o If your agency has its own NPN, provide it here. This is not your personal NPN. Agency Secondary Address o You will be required to provide the agency s address on the Producing Agent Agreement. You may provide a secondary address for your agency here. 14
15 AGENCY SALES REPRESENTATIVES Your Agency s Sales Representatives o Either upload a list of your sales representatives, including full name and the NPN for each OR you may elect to list their information directly on this screen. o If there are no representatives to list, other than yourself, click Save & Cont. to proceed. 15
16 AGENT/AGENCY AGREEMENTS New Producing Agents o You are required to read and sign a Producing Agent Agreement, including any agreement addendums. New Producing Agencies o As a representative for your agency, with the authority to legally bind the organization, you are required to read and sign a Producing Agent Agreement, including any agreement addendums. 16
17 MARKETPLACE REQUIREMENTS Agents who will sell on the FFM for Individual or for FF SHOP o 2015 requirements for new and renewing agents are outlined, with links provided for your convenience. o You will be required to provide your Marketplace credentials in the steps which follow. Agents who will not be selling IBC Products on the FFM for Individual or for FF SHOP o If you indicate that you do not intend to sell Marketplace products, you will be able to proceed without being required to enter the requested credentials. o You may return to this program at any time to amend your decision and provide your Marketplace credentials, if you wish to be eligible for sales credit and compensation for the sales of these products. 17
18 MARKETPLACE IDENTIFICATION Provide and verify your FFM User ID (i.e. Marketplace ID), which is self assigned when you create your FFM User Account and complete Identity Proofing on the CMS Enterprise portal ( o To recover your FFM user ID or password, click on the Forgot my User ID/Password link on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Enterprise Portal login web page at For more information about FFM Registration and completion of the steps and requirements which will enable you to provide the necessary Marketplace credentials, the CMS webinar series slide presentation, Registering to Participate in the Federally facilitated Marketplace (FFM) for the 2015 Plan Year, an Overview for Agents and Brokers, July & August 2014, is recommended. Click Next Step, to continue through Marketplace credentials 18
19 MARKETPLACE CERTIFICATE UPLOAD Curriculum Certificate o Upon completing your 2015 FFM for the Individual market and/or FF SHOP curriculum, CMS will provide you with a certificate of completion. o Assistance is provided to help you locate your certificate. Upload into Sales Sentinel o Select your document Type o Enter the Name for your document o Browse to locate it o Select Upload Click Next Step, to continue 19
20 APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION Appointment with Independence Blue Cross o Reaching this step will confirm your new, or existing, appointment with the four IBC entities for the state of Pennsylvania. o Your appointment may be pended while required information is confirmed. If a message appears to this effect, you may continue and return to the program at a later time to verify the success of the appointment. o You may not sell IBC products until these appointments are successfully confirmed. Click Next Step, to complete your program 20
21 SUMMARY AND PRINT! In this final step, you will be provided with a summary of your program which you can print ( ) or save as a record of your completion. Having reached this step, your completion results will be sent to IBC on the next business day. CONGRATULATIONS! 21
