1 WEB 2.0 TOOLS TO ENHANCE THE CLASSROOM MAY 2014 What are Web 2.0 Tools A new way of creating, collaborating, editing and sharing user generated content online. Pushes computing power off the desktop and onto the Internet, meaning less time and money spend on PC software administration. Web 2.0 tools are typically less expensive than traditional software, with most being free. Since they re web based all you need to get started is an up to date browser. Even if it s 2 minutes of the entire class, tie it in. Something as simple as a YouTube clip and really grab the student s attention, weather it s relevant to the lesson or not. How should I grade projects Decide which element of the project is most important to you. If it is the wording, information, images, layout, design, etc., just as you would with any other project. Focus a larger percent of the grade on that. { A student could have an awesome presentation, but if they didn t cover any of the requested content, then their grade may not be as good as the student whose presentation looked so- so, but had lots of great and relevant information.
