2 What is Simportal? SimPortal is a web based interface which allows NEES to submit OpenSees jobs to Teragrid machines. It is written as a Java applet that seamlessly communicates with NEEScentral to run the OpenSees simulations on remote computers (computational servers) designated by the NEEScentral administrator. It is under development Developed at Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems at Mississipi State University by the Cooperative Computing Group under direction of Tomasz Haupt. 3 SimPortal The SimPortal provides a graphical computational simulation component for NEESit. This is currently accomplished by providing a Grid Portal for OpenSees. SimPortal is currently under development at Mississippi State University. Compose a simulation by acquiring all necessary OpenSees scripts: the NEESit repository the user desktop Edit and verify the correctness of the scripts For very complex simulations, the scripts are expected to be developed off-line and uploaded to the portal to be executed on high-performance platforms provided by NEESit. Monitor the progress of the simulations, preview the results, and download them for a detailed analysis. 13 ex1.tcl is now set as main script Can Edit if want 3. Select Submit (Simulation - Submit) 1. Select Machine to Submit On Rocks-160 OpenSeesMP 4. Select Yes if want to save changes if pops up 2. Edit #Procs & Wall Time
