2 What is CARA CARA is an ergonomically designed, fast, web user interface to connect individually or simultaneously to multiple content management systems. Currently released for Documentum, Oracle WebCenter and Alfresco. It is designed to facilitate the creation, review, approval and management of documents. CARA is underpinned by the Generis DocConfigurator product which allows rapid setup and configuration of the docbase to requirements. This document outlines the major new features that are being released in CARA v3.3 in August 2012

3 Summary v3.3 Major New Features User Experience Selection On login, select your user experience from the full WebDesktop through the singlepage explorer, to My WidgetSpace and the Portal My WidgetSpace This unique view gives the users a widget-based desktop showing, in a single view, document lists from their Favorites, Recent Items, Workflow Inboxes and more finding and interacting with documents has never been easier or quicker. Voice Recognition Voice recognition now allows text input into fields without having to use your keyboard to enter it. Perfect for mobile or hands-free usage. User Activity Monitoring In addition to the System Lock and User Log functionality, CARA now provides graphical output of User Activity over time. Preview with Properties Open both the properties and content in a single click. Mobile App extension For those who need quick and easy interaction with the repository, the existing mobile support (via browsers) is now supplemented with a mobile-specific app. integration extension Importing s is streamlined to allow both import as custom document types, as well as extraction of both attachments and also attributes and content into repository attributes and content.

4 Summary v3.3 Major New Features Documentum Facets Full support for Documentum Search Facets, including configuration and display Import Landing Zone An improved permanent drag and drop zone for import from the Desktop or Outlook Adaptive User Learning CARA learns which are your favorite features and functions and places them on a personal shortcut pane for quick access Additional Languages Russian and Portuguese have been added to the existing languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Polish). Carousel (Coverflow) Display Display document thumbnails and information on a carousel / coverflow Extended Subscriptions CARA now offers the full range of subscriptions available in Documentum but configurable using the CARA ruleset. Includes subscribing other users. Configurable Customizations Using configuration, you can now add any custom action / screen / menu to CARA, and display screens ranging from CARA through HTML and JSP to applets, while executing any server methods, RESTful web service, API scripts or DQL on completion.

5 Adaptive User Learning CARA learns from user s most-used functions and adds shortcuts to those functions into a My Favorite Actions pane

6 Languages and Oracle WebCenter Languages CARA v3.2 had localization in these languages: English French German Spanish Chinese Japanese Polish CARA v3.3 adds these localizations: Russian Portuguese Oracle WebCenter CARA has added the Oracle WebCenter Content platform to the list of supported content management systems. The full range of CARA functionality and the DocConfigurator configuration layer is available now on top of this platform together with the tight integration that WebCenter provides with other products in the Oracle family.

7 Configurable Customization Define custom actions to be called from custom menus, display HTML, CARA screens, JSP pages or an applet, and execute server methods, RESTful web services, API scripts or DQL on completion

8 My WidgetSpace This unique view gives the users a widget-based desktop showing document lists from their Favorites, Recent Items, Workflow Inboxes and more in a single view finding and interacting with documents has never been easier or quicker. 9 Voice Recognition Voice recognition now allows text input into fields without having to use your keyboard to enter it. Perfect for mobile or hands-free usage. Simply click the microphone at the end of a text field and speak. The built-in spell-check on the browser will help correct errors. Note: this feature is not available in all browsers

10 User Activity Monitoring CARA v3.2 introduced the User Activity log, As well as the ability to lock the system (prevent logins, e.g. during system maintenance windows, while leaving the system up and running). 11 Mobile App extensions For those who need quick and easy interaction with the repository, the existing mobile support (via browsers) is now supplemented with a mobilespecific app. The app supports the following devices: - Apple - Android - Windows 8 - Blackberry CARA v3.2 offered full support for mobile phones and tablets via browsers, including the ability to access the slimmed-down CARA Portal via such devices, and an HTML download alternative to the standard Java Applet for Apple devices where applets are not supported. CARA v3.3 adds a specific phone app that allows you to: search the repository view content view and edit properties complete workflow activities receive notifications when content you have subscribed to has been altered download content to the device to view offline. 12 integration extensions In standard platforms, import of s is restricted to importing as a specific document type, which means that a customer s custom attributes are not available. In addition, the extraction of attributes is hard-coded. CARA extends this to allow mapping of attributes to repository attributes, including extracting content. Once the s are imported into CARA (via drag and drop), you can either access the attachments by viewing the and opening the attachments from there, or by using the new Extract feature to extract attachments and automatically link them to the as a Related Object.

14 Documentum Search Facets Run the search, and then refine the results using the facets displayed Configure the ability to use Facets in the CARA User Capabilities and define the attributes to be used in facets using the CARA View Configuration

15 Import Landing Zone Select your folder and then drag and drop from Windows Explorer or Outlook into the Import Landing Zone Then optionally use the pop-up to classify your documents in the New Document wizard that you configured

16 Carousel / Coverflow Define and display documents in a carousel which displays a thumbnail

19 Popular Existing Features Dimensions Build your own tree view - choose any properties and browse documents in a different way. Widgets Extensible panel showing widgets choose from core set (e.g. properties, renditions) or create your own, linking in any web service as a widget. Document Views Define different views for different user groups / usage scenarios completely personalized view and set of features. Dashboards Add any query to the dashboard, and results can be shown as tables, charts, or graphs, exported to Excel, or embedded as widgets in the main view. User Preferences All settings that users choose (column displays and widths, dimensions tree-view, filters, cabinet restrictions and so on) are saved so that the user can log in from another machine and will have the same preference choices applied. Configuration Configure every aspect of the user interface as well as building business rules such as dynamic security and folder paths, data dictionaries and taxonomies, numbering, and more. Achieve all this without coding, cutting down the cost and effort of customizations.
