He has worked with a wide variety of tools and programming languages, including both Microsoft.NET and open source (LAMP) technology stacks, and more recently has been focusing on Android development for mobile devices. Charles currently works as a Senior Software Developer for Drexel University. Course Description Expand upon your basic foundations in HTML and CSS as you use JavaScript to create accessible and dynamic web content. In this class, expect to acquire an understanding of programming and learn how to implement and integrate JavaScript and jquery into your web pages. Course Overview This course presents a comprehensive overview of the basics of JavaScript. Topics covered will include Web and Internet fundamentals, programming basics, JavaScript syntax and built-in functions, AJAX and web applications, as well as the jquery framework. Students will make use of Adobe Dreamweaver as their primary text editor, however the focus of the course is on learning to code JavaScript directly. 2 Course Expectations Students who complete this course will have sufficient knowledge and mastery of basic web technologies, and JavaScript in particular, so as to be able to create their own or edit and update existing scripts to interact with web pages in meaningful ways. Students are required to complete a series of homework assignments and take home quizzes, as well as a final project that will be presented to the class in the last class session. Students are expected to contribute to class discussions and to be a reflective student through accepting and giving constructive feedback to yourself, your peers, and your instructor. Prerequisites Classes or Knowledge Required for this Course Web I (CE 2411), a fundamental knowledge of HTML, familiarity with Adobe Dreamweaver and MAC OSX. Attendance Attendance is mandatory and essential to your performance. The information needed to complete assignments properly will be given in class. As a student in this course it is your responsibility to make certain you obtain information covered should you miss a class session. Previously absent students must come to the following class with all of the appropriate work due for that day.
