1 Spread Map Tab - Soil Zones The Spread Map page provides functions for creating spread maps. To activate the options, select the Spread Map tab. 1. The Rx Export tab will display immediately. Select the Soil Zones tab. A. The Soil Zones page will display. This function allows you create flat rate prescription zones within a field per product attribute, based on soil type. 2 2. Loading a Field: From the customer index window, click and hold a Field file and drag up to the Account window. The field holds the soil type information (not the soil test). A. This particular program function can only work with one data set at a time, meaning you cannot process multiple files at a time. This function will only accept Field files; no soil / yield analysis files. B. Once the Field is displayed in the Account window, a brief indicator will display stating the system is Getting the soil zones then the field image will display with the soil type designations. - Also, a legend will display with soil type designations / acres / drainage / permeability / yield expectations. 3. Products. This area allows users to select the specific product to spread, plus indicate the cost (option) and enter the desired amount of product for each zone. A. Products: Using the drop-down menu, select the product to be spread for the chosen soil type zone. - Seed populations can be chosen if variable rate planting files are needed. - Users should enter seed population rates with 2 digits, as the values seed in KSDS. 3 B. Click on the Add button. You will see the attribute show up under the Product column (to the right). C. If desired, double-click under the Cost column and enter a product cost. D. Double-click under each Zone column and enter a value in lbs. that will be spread per acre / per soil zone. E. A second product can be added if desired. Use the drop-down menu to select a second product and add it. It will display as the first. Enter the product amounts as needed. Two files will be generated when ran. 4. Application Cost $ / acre. This option allows the user to enter a cost per acre to spread the product. A. Click in the entry box and enter a value (optional). 5. Create Soil Zones Report. This option allows the user to create a PDF file of the soil type map and corresponding legend. A. Click on the Create Soil Zones Report button in the lower left of the page. - The following indicator will briefly appear informing the report has been sent to the File Manager. Shortly after, a Download Report prompt will display. - Users have the option to open the file immediately, or close the indicator and access the report in the File Manager at a later time. 4 B. Use the browser options to open / download the file. C. If opened, a 1-pg PDF will display. Users can print or save a copy of the report from the PDF software. 6. Preview Application. This option allows the user to See a preview of the application map before it s created. A. Click on the Preview Application button. - After a few seconds a window will appear showing the soil zone map and histogram. - Click on the X in the upper right of the preview box to close the image. 5 7. Print Application Report. This option allows the user to create a PDF file of the application map and product recommendation. A. Click on the Create Application Report button. - The following indicator will briefly appear informing the report has been sent to the File Manager. Shortly after, a Download Report prompt will display. B. Use the browser options to open / download the file. C. 6 D. Users can print or save a copy of the report from the PDF software. 8. Initiate Export. This function allows users to convert and download the application / spread data into files that can be imported into a spread Controller. A. Select the controller device from the drop-down menu. B. Click on Initiate Export button. - In indicator will appear indicating an applicable charge may apply. If you want to proceed with making the file(s), click Proceed (next page). 7 - The following indicator will briefly appear informing the report has been sent to the File Manager. Shortly after, a Download Report prompt will display. - If the user chooses to open immediately, click the Download.zip link. The browser will open its file queue to show the progress of the file creation. - Once completed, double click on the folder to view the controller files. - Users have the option to copy and paste the files to a new location, highlight and drag the files to a location, use the Extract All Files function, or use the Storage Card tool to save the files to an alternate location. 8 9. File Manager. Users can open controller files from the File Manager as well. A. Right-click on the needed controller file. Select Show Results. B. The following download indicator will appear. Click on Download.zip to open the files. C. The browser will open its Download folder to show the progress of the file creation. Once completed, double click on the folder to view the controller files. - Once completed, double click on the folder to view the controller files. - Users have the option to copy and paste the files to a new location, highlight and drag the files to a location, use the Extract All Files function, or use the Storage Card tool to save the files to an alternate location. 9 10. Save Application. This feature allows you to save a specific soil zone application for a field. This proves to be a time-saving and convenient way to archive what was done for specific fields. A. With all field conditions / parameters entered, click on the Save Application button in the lower window. B. Script Prompt window appears allowing you to name the application. Type in the desired name and click the OK button. - An indicator will appear briefly showing the application is saving. I.F.A.R.M. 108 South Crystal Lane Fairbury, IL (815)

10 - After a few seconds, a notice indicator will appear confirming the Soil Zone Application has been saved. C. The saved application will now be visible under the field as a red circle with a SZ inside (soil zone). Note: This feature is convenient if you want to recall what was done for a given field. You can pull up a saved field and rerun reports / files as needed. D. By right clicking on the red application file, you will get the option to Load or Delete the application. - If you click on Load Application, the full soil zone setup parameters will populate with the saved criteria. E. If you click on Delete Application, a Confirm Delete indicator will appear. To delete the application, click OK. - A Confirm Delete indicator will appear. If you wish to proceed with deleting the saved application, select OK. - The saved application will be removed immediately from the field. I.F.A.R.M. 108 South Crystal Lane Fairbury, IL (815)

11 11. Starting Over. If you are finished with a given session and want to look at new data, simply select the Remove All or Remove Selected buttons to clear the Account Window. A. You can then drag new fields in the Profiles / Account window to start a new session. B. Users can also use the Clear Form button (in the lower right corner) to clear all entries in the page.
