3 Assumptions Intelitek easyc will be used for this overview, not RobotC or MathWorks Simulink Similar process in concept Only the 2015 BEST Default program will be introduced (no update for 2016/2017 available) Procedure was run using Windows 7 on this laptop

5 The Returnable Electronics Note: Black VEXnet wireless keys have been replaced by white VEXnet 2.0 keys (2015)

6 Overall Software Process Update your PC Drivers Update firmware on VEX Cortex microcontroller and VEXnet Joystick Download and install easyc V5 Download and build 2015 BEST Default Program

7 Updating Drivers Refer to VEX EDR Firmware Updates page Download VEXnet Serial USB Driver At this point, all teams should have newer than 2012 kits VEX_Driver_Installer_ (zip file) Extract and install (32-bit or 64 bit, depending on your PC platform)

9 Updating Firmware Download VEXnet Firmware Upgrade Utility VEXnetUpgradeV4.1.7.withInst (zip file) Extract and install Carefully follow VEXnet Firmware Upgrade Utility Instructions Rev 4 (*.pdf file) Cortex first interfaced to PC, then joystick All Programs > VEX Robotics> VEXnet Firmware Upgrade Utility Download VEXnet Key 2.0 Firmware Upgrade Utility VEXnet-Key-2.0-Update-Utility-Version (zip file) Extract and install Plug VEXnet Key 2.0 in USB drive for automatic update

12 Download easyc Refer again to BEST Participant Resources page Get the latest version (V5) easyc_v5_5002 (Application) Run the application to install easyc on your PC

16 Install easyc (continued) After the VEX Cortex Programming driver completes, easyc will finish installation A dialog box pops up with The initialization was finished successfully! Enter the easyc License Key provided by the hub and your name, , school information, etc. License is then activated and a dialog box with License Status: SUBSCRIPTION 150 Days will pop up
