1 CommScope Fiber Distribution Cables Global Communication CommScope announces a manufacturing change of fiber distribution cables. All fiber distribution cables manufactured after July 1 st, 2015 will feature a single colored buffer tube specific to glass type. Multimode LazrSPEED 150, 300, & 550 will have Aqua buffer tubes Multimode OptiSPEED 62.5 will have Orange buffer tubes Singlemode TeraSPEED will have Yellow buffer tubes Indoor/Outdoor Fiber Cable will have Black buffer tubes A print string will be updated for buffer tube identification as shown below: Generic Print String: {FLAME RATING} {SUBUNIT #} {FIBER TYPE} - {SERIAL NUMBER} XXXXX {FLAME RATING} is determined from the first letter of the description Flame Ratings: R=Riser; P=Plenum; Z=LSZH Riser; N=LSZH Riser {SUBUNIT #} will be between 1 and 12, depending on how many subunits are in the cable {FIBER TYPE} will include one of the following, unless it is a composite tube, in which we will include both fiber types. Singlemode always comes first, followed by 62.5um or 50um.
