4 Introduction 1 Welcome to the product guide for Streetpro EMEA Drivetime Networks for Europe. This chapter provides an overview of the product, the documentation, and how to contact us. Following Getting Started on page 6, the information relating to the product s file sets is given in Database Description on page 11, which will be of particular use if you have the Editable version of Streetpro EMEA Drivetime Networks for Europe. The guide assumes that you are familiar with your Drivetime software. For information about Drivetime, consult the Drivetime documentation set. 5 Overview Overview Streetpro EMEA Drivetime Networks for Europe comprise digital road networks at a nominal 1: scale, with a link and node structure. The networks include motorways, principal highways, important regional and local roads, other roads and ferries. Pitney Bowes Software has enhanced the networks by including the signposted travel speeds, weight limits, and other road and area attributes for each road link. The networks were developed for use with Drivetime Professional software. Contacting Technical Support In the unlikely event that you encounter problems working with Drivetime, our technical support specialists can help - refer to Further Information on page 2. Technical support for Drivetime includes referrals to documentation, assistance with error messages and suggestions for causes of error messages. A Technical Support contract can be obtained through your sales representative. Data Vintage Pitney Bowes Software Data Products explicitly show the vintage of the source data in unambiguous terms. Vintage refers to the currency of the data as of a specific date and does not correspond exactly to the time of product release, because of data-to-product production time, or reflect the actual ship date. All product media, product documentation, and product metadata prominently display the data vintage using the following notation: YYYY.MM {(Month Year)} where: YYYY is the four-digit year MM is the data vintage's calendar month (01 12) and optionally: Month is the three character abbreviation of the month name Year is the four-digit year For current data vintage information, see the Data Vintage Chart on the product web site. 5 Streetpro EMEA Drivetime Networks for Europe

6 Getting Started 2 This chapter explains the file names used, and provides you with instructions for installing the data. In this chapter: File Names Copying Files Onto Your System

7 File Names File Names Drivetime includes the following file sets: te Links and des: these MapInfo format-mappable file sets are used for network editing (provided that you have the Editable version of Streetpro EMEA Drivetime Networks for Europe). Matrix: the unmappable Matrix file set is used for specifying standard network settings and can be modified to set up Drivetime scenarios. Drivetime: the Drivetime file set is built from the Links, des and Matrix files and is used to calculate driving regions and routes. In order to use the data correctly, you must have access to all of the files in the file set. All the files for each file set must be located in the same directory. It is recommended that the data be installed into a data directory separate from any program or application directories. Make sure that you choose a disk with enough space. te Data copied will remain read-only unless the file attributes are reset. It has been compressed using WinZip compression software, and is supplied in a self-extracting executable file. To copy the files onto your system: 1. Place the disk into the appropriate drive. 2. Run Windows Explorer. 3. Double click on the drive icon to display the contents of the disk. 4. Open the Data Folder. 5. Double click on the self-extracting executable, Data.exe. 6. Use the Browse button in the dialog box that appears, in order to select the destination to which the data is to be extracte 7. Click Unzip. Product Guide 8

Character (1) LevelBeg Level of the link at the beginning/end. Negative Small Integer LevelEnd and positive numbers are supported. Zero indicates ground level. All StreetPro Levels are set to zero. Small Integer * Name and AltName fields The widths of these fields vary. Links on a main road in a rural area will be named using the road number. When the road runs through an urban area, the Name field will hold the local name of the road and the AltName will hold the road number. des The des file contains junctions and other nodes for Drivetime Editable Networks. 16 Appendix: tes A Opening Multiple Drivetime Networks It is not possible to open more than one Drivetime network at a time. Maximum Weight and Maximum Height Maximum weight and height ranges can be specified for each link. They may either be discrete values or a band number that specify ranges of maximum weight or height, e.g. under 1 ton, between 1 and 3 tons, or over 3 tons. A combination of the two types of values is not allowed within Drivetime for the same data set.
