3 1. Hunchly Installation Hunchly requires Google Chrome to be installed on one of the supported operating systems Windows, Linux (Debian-based) or Mac OSX. You will first need to acquire a trial (15-day) or full license (1 year) before installing Hunchly. You will receive a license file in your Minimum System Requirements Hunchly requires the following minimum system requirements: Windows 7 or higher 64-bit required. Mac OSX (Yosemite). Debian-based Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, Buscador, etc.) 64-bit required. Hunchly works best with the following physical system requirements: 4GB of RAM. 20 GB free disk space (not a hard requirement, but this is good for about 10-15,000 stored pages). 1.2 Installing Hunchly on Windows Regular Installation 1. Ensure you have Google Chrome installed, you can download from here. 2. Make sure Google Chrome is not currently running. 3. First download the newest version of Hunchly from here. 4. Run the HunchlyInstaller.exe installer. 5. Follow the on-screen prompts and select a folder to store your case data, as well it will ask you to provide your license key. 6. Once the installer is finished you can open the Hunchly dashboard or start Google Chrome and look for the Hunchly extension in the extension bar. 4 1.2.2 Unattended Installation / Enterprise Deployment The Windows installer for Hunchly supports a silent commandline based installation that allows you to define where the Hucnhly data is stored, where to copy in a license key and what path you wish to have Hunchly installed under. The commandline variables are as follows: DATADIRECTORY this I the location for the Hunchly data. Use the parent path of a folder, and the installer will create a HunchlyData folder within it. APPDIR this is the location where you wish to install Hunchly on the local hard drive. LICENSE_LOCATION (optional) this the folder where the hunchlylicense.key file is located, and it will be copied in to the HunchlyData folder. If you wish to have the Hunchly license file in a central location please see the Hunchly Configuration section below. To run the Hunchly installer silently with the above options set, here is an example: HunchlyInstaller.exe /qn APPDIR= C:\Program Files (x86)\hunchly DATADIRECTORY= C:\Users\CorporateUser1\Documents LICENSE_LOCATION= \\FileServer\SoftwareLicenses 1.3 Installing Hunchly on Mac OSX 1. Ensure you have Google Chrome installed, you can download from here. 2. Make sure Google Chrome is not currently running. 3. First download the newest version of Hunchly from here. 4. Run the HunchlyInstaller.pkg installer file. 5. Follow the on-screen prompts and Hunchly will install and setup the Hunchly data folder in Documents/HunchlyData. 6. You must copy your hunchlylicense.key file into Documents/HunchlyData in order for Hunchly to work properly. 7. Once you have finished with the installation and have copied in your Hunchly license file, you can open the Hunchly dashboard from Applications/Hunchly or start Google Chrome to see the Hunchly extension in the extension bar. 5 1.4 Installing Hunchly on Linux 1.5 Hunchly Configuration File There is a Hunchly configuration file that can be used to set options useful for enterprise deployment or convenience. The file is named hunchly.ini and can be found in the following places. Note that you must map network drives to a real drive letter in Windows in order for the settings to work properly. Windows C:\Program Files (x86)\hunchly\dashboard\hunchly.ini Mac OSX - /Applications/Hunchly.app/Contents/MacOS/hunchly.ini Linux - /opt/hunchly/hunchly.ini The following settings can be modified: data_directory (required) the folder where Hunchly stores all of its case data. license_location (optional) the location of the hunchlylicense.key file. default_save_location (optional) this is a convenience setting so that any Save-As dialog box that pops open in the Hunchly dashboard will default to the location that you set. settings_json_location (optional) this will allow Hunchly to load in a saved setting.json file to setup the user with default settings. This will overwrite any existing settings, but the import only takes place once.
