7 Setup (using your ios device) 1. Plug in your Apple TV and connect to your HDTV with an HDMI cable, and follow the onscreen instructions: - Click the trackpad on the Siri Remote to get started - Choose language: English - Country or Region: United States - Set up with ios Device (iphone or ipad) - Setup your AppleTV - Unlock your ios device - Enable Bluetooth (in Settings) - Hold your device close to the Apple TV 2. On your ios device: - Select Continue when you get the Setup Apple TV prompt - Enter your Apple ID and password - Send Data to Apple: No Thanks 3. On the Apple TV - Location Services: Select Enable Location Services - Siri: Select Use Siri - See the World (Aerial Screensavers) Select Automatically Download. Will require about 600MB per batch of photos. Can change in Settings/General. - Diagnostics & Usage: Select Don t Send to Apple - Terms & Conditions: Select Agree 4. 8 Home Sharing Home Sharing lets you share and stream content from your computer s itunes library to other computers, ios devices, and Apple TVs. Turn on Home Sharing on your Mac or PC Go to itunes>file>home Sharing>Turn on Home Sharing Use Home Sharing on your Apple TV On your Apple TV (4th generation), go to Settings > Accounts > Home Sharing. (On earlier models of Apple TV, go to Settings > Computers). Select Turn on Home Sharing. Then enter your Apple ID and password. Use the same Apple ID for every computer or device on your Home Sharing network. To find shared libraries, go to the main menu, select Computers, and choose a library. You can also view photos from your computer on your Apple TV: Open itunes on your computer. Then go to File > Home Sharing > Choose Photos to Share with Apple TV.
9 Remote App Remote is a free app that turns your iphone, ipad, or ipod touch into a remote control for your computer s itunes library and your Apple TV. Setting up Remote with Home Sharing is simple and secure. 1. Download the free Remote app from the App Store 2. Sign in with your Apple ID and Password 3. Turn on Home Sharing on the Apple TV Settings>Accounts>Home Sharing>Turn On Home Sharing Sign in with your Apple ID and Password
10 AirPlay Mirroring - With AirPlay, you can stream music, photos, and videos to your Apple TV - With AirPlay Mirroring, you can display your ios screen on your Apple TV AirPlay Mirroring 1. Connect your ios device and your Apple TV to the same Wi-Fi network. 2. Turn on your Apple TV (click anywhere on your Remote). 3. On your ios device, swipe up from the bottom of your screen to open Control Center. 4. Tap AirPlay Mirroring on your ios device 5. Select Apple TV to stream content to your Apple TV.
