5 Chapter 2 The Basics Operation of R75 Voice Recorder 1. Check the voice recorder 1Push down hold ON/OFF button around 3 seconds Once you open the box, push down the ON/OFF (power button) around 3 second, boot on your voice recorder. Try to playback the test file in the music folder or press hold REC button to recording a test file to check everything is OK If you cannot boot on your voice recorder, it maybe the recorder has low battery, go to next step, charging the voice recorder 2. Charging the voice recorder Use the MicroUSB cable connect your voice recorder to USB socket to charging it. When full charged, the battery icon will be full. 3. How to recording Page 5 of 23

6 1Push down hold ON/OFF button around 3 seconds 1Press & hold the REC button, start to record 1Press & hold the REC button,save the REC Switch on the voice recorder, press and hold the REC button, it starts to record Press and hold REC button again, it will save the recordings The recordings will be saved, and recordings name will be like: wav So we suggest you set the correct system time of the voice recorder, so each of your file will be named with a year date information. The file name like this format: YYYY-MM-DD + seconds + millisecond + file format (.wav /.mp3) 4. How to pause resume a recording Page 6 of 23

7 1Press PLAY button, pause record 1Press PLAY button again, resume to record If you want to pause the recording, press PLAY, it will pause recording Press PLAY again, it will resume to record 5. How to playback recording Switch on voice recorder, in default it will reads the recordings file folder Press PLAY button, it will play, pause recordings 6. How to delete a recording If you want to delete the recordings, press down, hold M (menu) button. Enter menu Press FF/REW select delete, press M (menu) enter delete Now you could select delete or delete all And press M (menu), it will ask you select YES, once you confirm YES It will delete Delete: delete single recordings Delete All: it will delete all recordings on the recorder NOTE: when delete file, it cannot be restored, be careful with this. 7. How to download recordings to computer Page 7 of 23

8 1) Use USB cable connect recorder to computer, recorder screen will display connection icon 2) Find removable drive R750 on computer NOTE: when failed connection, you could try a new USB cable have a test. Don t press any button, when connect to computer 3) All recordings was inside the folder RECORD Switch off recorder before connecting to computer Use the MicroUSB cable, connect to your computer. And you will find the removable drive named R75 Go to the drive, there is a folder RECORD, all your recordings will be inside this folder You could copy them to your computer NOTE: when connect to computer keep this in mind, 1) because of the recorder support to record while charging, so do not press any buttons when connect to computer, or it will exit connection mode 2) Switch off your voice recorder before connect to computer 3) When successfully connected to computer you will see the connection ICON on the voice recorder 4) If unfortunately, failed connect to computer, do not give up the last chance, please kindly contact us by support@toobomworld.com And describe how this issue happened, we will give you solutions. 8. Transfer music to recorder When successfully connected your voice recorder to computer. Page 8 of 23

9 Just copy your music file into the R75 drive directly The recorder support normal music songs format, like.mp3.wav.flac and so on 9. Playback Music on recorder After you successfully uploaded music songs into the recorder drive, reject it from your computer And open your voice recorder Press the M (menu) buttons, switch it to music folder, now the recorder will read the songs in your recorder Just press PLAY button, it will playback the songs inside the voice recorder. Do not create too many folders or copy files to the recorder that cannot support. When too many folders on the R75 recorder drive, it will cause to the recorder stop recording. If this happened, please kindly make a copy of your important files in the recorder, and then format the recorder 10. Set Record Format Switch on your voice recorder,press down and hold M (menu) button, enter menu Find record settings, press M (menu) button, enter it Find record format, press M (menu) button, enter it You could select MP3 Rec or WAV Rec, based on your requirement Select the format in need, and then press M (menu) button, confirm it NOTE: 1) Recordings at MP3 format, it could directly playback on MAC computer 2) Recordings at WAV format, for MAC user, it may need to download the free VLC media player to playback the recordings. Here is the VLC Media Player Official Website 3) In default, recorder save recordings at WAV format, and WAV format could record files at PCM flawless 1536kpbs high quality 11. 10 After select record format, you could set record bit rate In record settings, find set rec bitrate Select the correct bit rate, and press M (menu) button, confirm it At MP3 format, the available bit rate is : 32kpbs 128kpbs 192kpbs At WAV format, the available bit rate is : 512kpbs 1024kpbs 1536kpbs NOTE: 1) High bit rate, means high recording quality, 2) When set at 1536kpbs, the 8GB storage could hold around 12 hours recordings file 3) When set at 32kpbs, the 8GB storage could hold around 560 hours recordings file 12. Format the recorder Switch on your voice recorder,press down and hold M (menu) button, enter menu Find set, press M (menu) button, enter system set Find Format device, press M (menu) button, enter enter it Screen will show Format? Yes No If you select Yes, and press M (menu) button confirm it The recorder will start to format the disk Screen will show Please wait... NOTE: 1) After format all data on the recorder disk will be erased totally, and it cannot never be restored, be carefully when use this function, please make a copy of your important files before format the device 2) You could also format the R75 recorder disk from your computer 13. Restore to Factory Setting Switch on your voice recorder,press down and hold M (menu) button, enter menu Find set, press M (menu) button, enter system set Find Factory Setting, press M (menu) button, enter Restore Factory setting Screen will display Restore Factory Yes No Select Yes, press M (menu) button, confirm it All the settings will be restore to default 14. Set system time for the recorder Switch on your voice recorder,press down and hold M (menu) button, enter menu Find set, press M (menu) button, enter system set Find Date and time, press M (menu) button, enter date and time settings Page 10 of 23

11 Set time: Press FF/REW to adjust hours, when finished hours setting Press PLAY to jump to minutes, Press FF/REW to adjust minutes After hours and minutes set, press M (menu) confirm your settings Set Date: Press FF/REW to adjust year, when finished year setting Press PLAY to jump to month, Press FF/REW to adjust month setting After finished month setting, Press PLAY to jump to day Press FF/REW to adjust day setting After Year, Month and day set, press M (menu) confirm your settings NOTE: Press M (menu) confirm your settings, or it will not save your time and date settings 15. Mostly Used Functions of Each Buttons ON/OFF: switch on/off the recorder LOCK: push the ON/OFF button up to LOCK position, all buttons will be locked, and won t function REC: recording / save recording PLAY: playback, pause playing, return to up level menu (when in menu setting) FF/REW: Fast forward/rewind ; Previous / Next ; For selection (when in menu setting) ; In increase / decrease speaker volume (when enter speaker volume adjust) MENU: Press down enter menu, and use as CONFIRMATION button in menu setting Short press MENU, switch between MUSIC/ RECORD folder During Playback, Short press M(MENU), speaker icon will flash, enter speaker volume adjust mode Press down M(MENU), it enter playback setting Chapter 3 The Advanced Operation of R75 Voice Recorder 1. Select Save Position of Your Recordings Switch on your voice recorder,press down and hold M (menu) button, enter menu Find Record Settings, press M (menu) button, enter it Find Save Position, press M (menu) button, enter it Page 11 of 23

12 Screen will display Save position TF Flash Select save position as you need, and press M (menu) button confirm your selection NOTE: 1) When selected position, your recording will be saved in the place you selected. Select TF: it save recordings at the TF card (microsd card) Flash: it save recordings at the memory built-in the record 2) Only inserted TF card (microsd card) then you could select TF, otherwise it will say Removed SD card 2. Set Record Subsection What is Record Subsection? Record Subsection it is recording automatic segmentation; When you selected the time length for it. And it will automatically save the recording and start a new one. For example: You set at Half hour, it will save your recording when its recording time length reached 30minutes, and automatically start a new recording. How to open the Record Subsection Function? Switch on your voice recorder,press down and hold M (menu) button, enter menu Find Record Settings, press M (menu) button, enter it Find Record Subsection, press M (menu) button, enter it Screen will show Record Subsection Half hour One hour Two hour Close Just select the time length you need, and press M(menu) confirm your selection. Now press REC to recording, when it reached set time, it will automatically save your recording, and start a new recording Page 12 of 23

13 3. Set Voice Activated Recording Function What is Voice Activated Recording (AVR) MODE? Voice activated function, when open this, you press REC start to recording, screen will have VOR icon in the middle bottom position, that means you successfully opened voice activated function. And now, it will recording only loud enough decibels voice, or it will not recording For correctly use the Voice Activated Recording (AVR) Mode, you need to open this function and select right AVR level, otherwise, you cannot get the effective you want. How to open the voice activated function? Switch on your voice recorder,press down and hold M (menu) button, enter menu Find Record Settings, press M (menu) button, enter it Find Track AVR Mode, press M (menu) button, enter it Find AVR mode, press M (menu) button, enter it Screen will display AVR mode Open Close Select Open, and press M(menu) button to confirm selection Now the Voice actived function is open 4. AVR Level Adjust In Record Settings, Find Track AVR Mode, in this submenu, it will has the selection for AVR level And enter AVR level, screen will display AVR Level LEVEL 1 LEVEL 2 LEVEL 3 LEVEL 4 LEVEL 5 Select the correct AVR level based on your different recording surroundings and Page 13 of 23

14 recording task. And get the correct recording effect NOTE: 1) LEVEL 1 it is the mostly sensitive level, a normal talking voice will be picked up, while LEVEL 5 is the mostly dumb level, need a shout voice or higher decibel voice 2) When use VOICE activated function, and set noise cancellation at the same time. It will dumb the AVR level sensitive 5. Monitor Switch (Record Monitor Function) What is Monitor Switch? When open the this Recording Monitor function, you could put on your earphone. You could record and hear at the same time, hear what your are recording Open Monitor Switch Switch on your voice recorder,press down and hold M (menu) button, enter menu Find Record Settings, press M (menu) button, enter it Find Monitor Switch, press M (menu) button, enter it Screen will display Monitor Switch Open Close Select open, and press M (menu) button to confirm selection. The record monitor function will be open 6. Set Auto Record What is Auto Record? When set auto record open, you could select start time, end time, and auto record cycle. After all above set, the recorder will automatically boot on at the start time, and automatically start to record, and save recordings,switch off the recorder at the end time Auto Record Cycle: the auto record function circulation, you could let this function works once,daily or only on work day How to open Auto Record? Switch on your voice recorder,press down and hold M (menu) button, enter menu Find Record Settings, press M (menu) button, enter it Page 14 of 23

15 Find Auto Record, press M (menu) button, enter it Screen will display Auto record Record on/off Start Time End Time Auto Record Cycle Record on/off: in this submenu, you could select to on/off this function Auto Record Cycle: in this submenu, you could select once, daily, work day; so the auto record function will loop based on your selection Start Time / End Time: it control when it starts to record, and when to save recording and switch off the recorder How to Set Start Time / End Time? Enter Start Time setting submenu, screen will show HH MM Press FF/REW to adjust hours, after setting hours. Press PLAY to move to minutes, screen will show like this HH MM Press FF/REW to adjust minutes, after setting minutes. Press M(menu) confirm setting Set for End time at the same way. 7. Set Noise Cancellation What is Noise Cacellation? Reduce noise in your voice recordings How to Open Noise Cacellation Function? Switch on your voice recorder,press down and hold M (menu) button, enter menu Find Record Settings, press M (menu) button, enter it Find Set Noise Cancellation Level, press M (menu) button, enter it Page 15 of 23

16 Screen will display Set noise cancellation Disable noise cancellation LEVEL 1 LEVEL 2 LEVEL 3 LEVEL 4 LEVEL 5 You could disable noise cancellation or select the level you need NOTE: 1) LEVEL 1 is the mostly strong noise cancellation function, while LEVEL 5 is less. 2) Higher level noise cancellation means some low decibels voice will not be picked up; and more distortion voice in recording 8. Led_on/off (Set Recording Indicator Light) In this submenu, select, on/off, it recording indicator light under the recording button could be closed or open 9. Set Sleep Timer What is sleep timer? When set the sleep time, the recorder will count down time, and force to shut down the device when count down to ZERO, so be careful when use this function For example: When you set sleep time at 10mins, recorder will count down, and till zero, it will force to shut down, even you are operating the recorder, or it is recording or playing. It will still shut down How to set sleep timer? In Set menu, find sleep timer In this submenu, it could set off or set sleep time from 1-99 mins After set and press M(menu) button to confirm the setting 10. Set Backlight Timer What is backlight timer? The screen go dark time. It has 4 choices: 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds, always on How to set backlight timer? Page 16 of 23

17 Press and hold M(menu) button go to MENU,and Find Set In Set menu, find Backlight Timer In this submenu, it could set backlight timer After set and press M(menu) button to confirm the setting 11. Set Brightness What is Brightness? It is adjust the screen display brightness How to set Brightness? In Set menu, find Brightness In this submenu, it could set brightness from 0-12 After set and press M(menu) button to confirm the setting NOTE: lower digit, the screen go darker 12. Set Language In Set menu, find Language In this submenu, it could set the system language for your voice recorder After set and press M(menu) button to confirm the setting NOTE: if mistakenly set a foreign language, you could try to restore to factory setting, if failed, please kindly let us know, we will take video help you 13. Password Set & Forgot Password What is password function? Once set password for the voice recorder, each time you open the voice recorder, you need to provide the correct password; And when connect to computer, you also need to provide the correct password, if failed, you cannot connect to computer. How to set password? In Set menu, find Password Set In this submenu,it has Password Switch, and Password Set Password Switch: Password Off / Password On (open or close the password function) Password Set: set a 6 digit password Go to password set submenu, screen will display Input Password Page 17 of 23

18 Press FF/REW to adjust the first 2 digit, after set Press PLAY to move to next 2 digit, and press FF/REW to adjust this 2 digit, after set Press PLAY to move to the last 2 digit, and press FF/REW to adjust this 2 digit, after set Press M (menu) button to confirm the password, and screen will show Password changed NOTE: 1) after set password, and the password switch is ON, every time you open the voice recorder, it will ask you provide the correct password, otherwise, you cannot open the recorder 2) Update a new Password: If you have already set password, and want to change a new password, you need to go to submenu Password Set input the old password first, and then input your new password, press M(MENU) confirm it, screen will show password changed. the new password set successfully 3) Forgot password: if password forgot, input and then press and hold M(menu) button, it will enter the recorder directly, and close the password protect function 14. Information (check disk space / player version) In Set menu, find Information In this submenu, it could check the software version, and disk space for your voice recorder Page 18 of 23

19 Chapter 4 Failed Connect to computer 1) Failed Connect to computer Sometimes, you may met the failed connect to computer issue, it is normal like you failed connect your flash drive to computer, so the solutions are same way for solve it. Here are some suggestion for you fix this issue A. Before connect voice recorder to computer, switch OFF the voice recorder B. When connect the voice recorder to computer, do not press any buttons on the voice recorder, it will exit connection mode C. Do not swing the MicroUSB cable when connect to computer, in case of unstable connection D. Sometimes failed connection due MicroUSB cable is broken or USB socket is loose, change a new cable (like your android phone cable) or connect by another USB socket, or simply reboot your computer E. Forgot password, so cannot connect to computer, refer to password set function at Chapter 3 F. Even worse, still failed connection, here is an advanced solution We could do debug as following: 1) On your computer, go to Computer manage 2) Computer Management Page 19 of 23

Chapter 5 Device Was Frozen 1) Device was frozen / system halted When this happened, the device has reboot button Use a small needle or toothpick to push the reboot button, the device will reboot Reboot button (at the end of earphone jack) Reboot The reboot button at the end of earphone jack Page 20 of 23

21 Chapter 6 Mostly Frequently Asked Issues 1) How long will it record on a full charge? A: full charged, it could continue to work around 12 hours. 2) How long to full charge the recorder? A: full charge the recorder in 2 hours or a little time longer (12hours), if you didn t charge the recorder for long time, like 1 week or 1 month. When full charged, screen will display full charged. Or you could see the right up corner battery icon is full 3) How could I know how many hours I could record? A: Not sure how many hours the recorder could record? Different recording quality could be different hours. So After you set the recording quality, press REC button, it starts to recording, you could see the hours on the screen (it will show how many hours the recorder could still record) 8GB capacity: hold how many hours recordings? At 32kpbs: 560hours At 128kpbs: 145hours At 192kpbs: 97hours At 512kpbs: 36hours At 1024kpbs: 18hours At 1536kpbs: 12hours 4) Forgot password, how do you reset it? If forgot password, input , and press and hold M(menu) button to enter your voice recorder, it will close password function 5) How to charge the voice recorder? Use the USB cable in the package or your android phone cable, microusb cable, connect your voice recorder to computer socket or USB adaptor to charge your voice recorder 6) How to connect to computer and download my recordings? Use the USB cable in the package or microusb cable, same as your android phone s, Page 21 of 23

22 connect your voice recorder to computer. When the recorder screen will connect to computer ICON, you could find the removable drive R75 on your computer All recordings was inside this drive a folder named RECORD 7) How to playback on MAC computer? For MAC user: 1) We suggest set record format at MP3, so recordings could be directly playback on MAC computer 2) If recorded at WAV format, you could download free VLC Media Player or other similar software help you playback wav format audio files on MAC computer 8) It shows no voice recordings found This is because all recordings was deleted, or the recordings was not inside the RECORD folder 9) It shows no songs found No songs music file on the recorder disk 10) I cannot find my recordings on the recorder Recordings are not inside the RECORD folder, connect to computer, have a check, if your recordings was on the recorder disk a folder named RECORD Or you have switched to music folder, press M(menu) button, switch back to record folder 11) Disk Full When disk is full, that means the recorder don t have free space, or you didn t delete all files from the recorder successfully, this is usually happened, if you cut your recordings to your computer, and the recorder looks empty on computer, while it didn t delete files utterly, so recorder still don t have free space So we just need to format the recorder, things will be normal. In Set, find Format Device, you could format the recorder NOTE: when format device, please be sure that you have made copies for your important files, once format the device, all files will be erased, and it cannot be restored Page 22 of 23

23 12) When I press REW/FF, it cannot fast forward or go to next recordings During playback, if you pressed M (menu), it will enter speaker volume adjust status, the speaker ICON will flash on the screen At this moment, you cannot use the fast forward / rewind / previous/next function So press M(menu) again exit speaker volume adjust status 13) Screen show LOCK icon, I cannot do anythings That means, you have locked all buttons, At the recorder right side, the ON/OFF button, push it down away from the LOCK position, now all will be normal Page 23 of 23
