4 MAIN FUNCTIONS: High fidelity recording in MP3 format 5000 mah Power Bank Selectable Voice Activated / Continuous Recording Time Stamped Recordings 380 Hours Battery Life Built-in High Sensitive Microphone USB data transmission & charging (record while charging) START, STOP AND SAVE RECORDINGS Push the RECORDING ON/OFF button to ON position and the device will start recording once the red indicator light turns green. NOTE: Please note that the device will start in the last Operating Mode that the voice recorder worked before turning OFF. To shift between recording modes, please press Mode button while the green light is present. Stop recording: while recording, push the Recording on/off button to OFF position so that the green indicator light goes red and out. PoweREC will stop recording and it will save the recording files automatically. The PoweREC voice recorder is set to operate 2 RECORDING MODES: 1. Voice activated recording mode with a recording quality of 128Kbps. In this default factory mode, the device will initialize recording ONLY if sounds/voices are detected in its action radius. During completely silent periods the device will stop recording, thus avoiding long hours of silent recording so you can listen the audio file easier. 2. Continuous recording mode, with a recording quality of 128Kbps. PoweREC will continuously record up to 141 hours on its 8GB memory (on a

5 full battery charge and if enough memory is free) all sounds/voices on a 15 ft radius. IMPORTANT! If during the Voice Activated Mode the sounds level drops below 40dB, the device will PAUSE recording automatically. It will resume recording once sounds over 40dB are detected in its range. The 40 db is equivalent for a normal voice conversation in a radius of 10 feet. If no sounds are detected for more than 30 minutes, the current audio file will be saved. The device will resume recording and start a new audio file as soon as sounds are detected in its range again. CHECK THE ACTIVE RECORDING MODE You can easily check in what recording mode your device is: If the green light blinks, the device is in Voice Activated Mode. If the green light stays lit, the device is in Continuous Recording Mode Please note that you can change the recording mode only when the GREEN STATUS LIGHT is ON, either blinking or lit! LISTEN TO YOUR RECORDINGS USING A WINDOWS PC OR MAC Connect the recorder to a USB port, but please make sure the Recording switch is OFF. Once you ve plugged it in, open My Computer (for Windows computers) or Finder (for MAC), and double click on the new drive that appears in your system. In this new partition POWEREC, you will find the folder named RECORD, where all the audio files are saved. Double click on the file you want to listen. You can listen the audio files with any audio player. To protect your recorder always SAFE REMOVE the device!

6 SET THE DATE AND TIME: When you connect the power bank to your computer you will be able to access its partition to find the folder RECORD. In the folder RECORD, there is a text file named time.txt with the default time and date set up. Open time.txt file with any text editor installed in your system and put the current time and date with the format: yyyymmddhhmmss, as follows: yyyy four digits format for year (ex. 2018), mm - is 2 digits month (ex. for May is 05), dd - 2 digits day (ex. if today is in 3rd - you must put 03). hh - means 2 digit hour format (24 hours format, not AM or PM)- ex. for 5 PM you must use the digits 17, for 6 AM is 06, etc. ; mm - is 2 digit format for minutes and ss - is 2 digit format for seconds. Please refer to the below example to better understand the required format: If today would be the 22 nd of May 2018, at 05:24 PM, here is what you should input in the time.txt file: (no spaces in front or after these digits). After filling in the proper digits, save the time.txt file and disconnect the recorder from the computer. When you initialize the recorder, it will automatically create audio files named with the correct date and time stamp. If by any reason you will not find the file time.txt in the RECORD folder, please follow these steps to create a new time.txt file: Connect the recorder to your computer and access the folder RECORD. Create a text file with the name time in the folder. Please make sure that the file is properly created in the folder RECORD,, otherwise the device will not set the time and it will use the original date and time of the manufacture date. To summarize, in the folder RECORD, you will have a sub-folder named

7 VOICE, where all the audio files will be saved, and the time.txt file where you can input the proper date and time according to the above instructions. LISTEN TO YOUR RECORDINGS USING AN ANDROID PHONE: Depending on the phone model, use a compatible OTG cable and connect the POWEREC using also its USB cable. NEVER CONNECT THE OTG CABLE WITH THE POWEREC! THE IPHONE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE LISTENING FUNCTION, ONLY WITH CHARGING FUNCTION! CHARGEING THE POWEREC: Please connect the recorder to the PC or any USB power source to charge it. When the device is charging, the blue light indicator keeps flashing. The 4 blue led lights will flash intermittently during charging, indicating the actual level of the battery. The recorder is fully charged when the lights stop flashing and remain lit. How long does it take to charge when battery is fully drained? using a 5V/2A output power (see the label of your charger) 3 hours using a 5V/1A output power (see the label of your charger) 6 hours The PoweREC battery can last up to 380 hours on a full battery cycle. NOTE! The recording function is available even when used simultaneously as a power bank to charge other devices. However, due to power consumption, the battery will drain faster than the 380 hours mentioned.

8 CHECK BATTERY LEVEL: It is important for you to know that the power bank and the voice recorder function are using the same 5000 mah battery. To check the power level please short press the Power Bank Button: 4 blue leds 100% battery level 3 blue leds 75% battery level 2 blue leds 50% battery level 1 blue led 25% battery level If the blue indicator light flashes during recording, it means the power is not enough. The power indicator light will automatically go out after 40 seconds. To shut it sooner, short press the power button twice. When battery level is low you can connect the recorder to power source as it will record and charge simultaneously. Important: during recording, the removable disk icon will not appear on PC. To access the partition, please TURN OFF the recorder. USING THE PoweREC AS A POWER BANK: Besides being a reliable voice recorder, the PoweREC is also a great power bank you can use to charge your phone or tablet on the go. You just need to connect the device that needs charging to the USB output of the power bank. Please remember that when the power bank is fully charged all the 4 blue led lights are lit. Each blue light represents 25% of the battery, so if one goes out it means that the battery life of your device reduced with 25%. When your device has only one flashing blue light it means that it needs charging.

9 USING THE POWEREC AS A STORAGE REMOVABLE DISK: When the recording mode is turned off, you can also use your device as a storage removable disk. You can copy and store any desired file on the PoweREC s 8GB memory, and afterwards still use it as a power bank or voice recorder. Please do not copy any files in the folder RECORD. You can create as many folders you need in the partition. USEFUL TIPS: When the built-in memory is full, the light will blink very fast for 10 seconds and then automatically turn OFF. Please connect the device to PC to delete or transfer unnecessary files and free some space on the device s memory. If you don t need the recorded files anymore, you can choose to FORMAT the drive, which will quickly erase all files on the drive. To start recording again, all you need to do is push the switch to ON and select a recording mode. The recorder will automatically save an audio file after each four hours of continuous recording, and then create a new recording file. Note: Each time you push the switch ON, the recorder starts a new recording, creating a new file. If, for example, you switch it ON and OFF 3 times, the recorder will create 3 recorded files corresponding to each time. You can rename these files to other names of your choice just like any other computer file but only after you copied the files into computer. DO NOT edit the name of the recordings directly on the built-in memory. DO NOT copy any other files into PoweREC RECORD folder.

10 What is the included OTG cable for: - To access the recorder s memory and the audio files directly from your smartphone. For smartphones with USB-C port, please use the adapter. NOTE: very new versions of smartphones can be incompatible with the OTG cable. Apple devices are also a special category and are not compatible with the OTG cable. HELP! My Recorder Won t Work! If you believe your recorder isn t working, don t give up just yet and assume that it is defective. Here is a list of the most frequent problems and advice to troubleshoot them: If you connect the device to the computer and you don t see the drive partition for PoweREC, please check if the Recording ON/OFF button is set to OFF. If the device is not charging, please check if the blue led light is on when you connect the recorder to your USB charger. A very common situation is when the device is connected to a USB computer and after a while the computer goes to standby mode, so the USB port is not available anymore. You can choose to charge your device with any USB charger (similar to the one you charge your smartphone for example). If you turn ON the device and the blue light is blinking very fast, it means that the memory of the recorder is full. Connect the device to the computer and delete or move the files to a different location. Everything should be working perfectly by now! 11 MAKE YOUR RECORDINGS SOUND MORE PROFESIONAL For the more technically minded users: You can edit your recordings using any audio editor that you are familiar with. There is a lot of free software available on the internet like Audacity, Waveshop, Wavosaur, etc. Unless you re recording in an acoustically treated environment, you ll often find that your recordings have a lot of background noise or hiss. It s always nicer to listen to cleaner recordings. To make things as easy for you as possible, we have created a simple tutorial on how to remove background noise from your recordings using software called Audacity, which is free to download. Simply visit Google, search for Audacity download and download it to your computer. Once you ve installed it, you re ready to go.
