1 Baby Explorer 2002 Baby Explorer is a cost effective software only solution that allows sonographers to quickly and easily generate fetal images for expectant parents months before the baby is born. The expectant parents can add these images to the Baby Photo Album. In some cases facial features of the baby can be also seen with Baby Explorer. Baby Explorer runs on standard PC Hardware to gather the images from any standard ultrasound scanner through the use of sophisticated volume rendering techniques. 4 Review screen overview Front cut plane and Bubble ROI will allow us to easily cut away all obstacles around the babies face. There is no segmentation or clipping tools in the main work area. These tools are all included in the pop-up menus. The layout is fixed follows: Three multiplanar views on the left for easy orientation, 3D surface in the middle and the volume controls on the right. The orientation buttons show how the 2D slice was oriented at the time of acquisition. Clicking on the one closest to the actual acquisition will rotate the volume to the orientation shown on this screen. You can find the camera on the top left image and you notice how the baby s face is looking right into it. The clip viewer will allow us to save and retrieve our favorite images. Dragging the width slider will result in an immediate update. This will allow you to make any sweep width during acquisition 3D images can be printed on any standard computer printer or video printer. You can also save JPG, BMP and AVI files. (787) Page 4 of 6.
