4 1. Scope of Document This document is one of three parts of the second deliverable of Work Package 1400, within the BETA Project. The objectives of each Work Package are described in the Project Management Document [1]. This document, D08c-SID, describes the specific external interfaces for the Braunschweig Airport test site. Separate documents are provided for the Prague [2] and Hamburg [3] test sites. A companion document D07-GID [4] describes the generic A-SMGCS interfaces including the internal interfaces between the BETA functional blocks. The internal A-SMGCS interfaces have been designed to be independent of the site at which BETA is installed. Only the external interfaces between BETA and its surveillance sensor systems and other airport and ATM equipment are site-specific. These are described herein. 1.1 Objectives This document aims to describe the site-specific external interface requirements in sufficient detail to permit system implementers to design the BETA equipment such that it can be simply connected to the relevant existing equipment on site and enable data to be exchanged in an efficient manner with the high level of integrity required for ATM. The Interface Control Documents (ICD) herein define the functional, physical and electrical requirements for each of the interfaces. 1.2 Document Structure The document is divided into 9 chapters as follows: Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 is this introduction describes the overall system level interface requirements for the Braunschweig test site is the specific site adaptation of the ASTERIX format for the Near-range Radar Network (NRN) is the specific site adaptation of the ASTERIX format for the Aircraft Registration Mark Identification (ARMI) system is the specific site adaptation of the ASTERIX format for the VERA Mode-S multilateration and ADS-B system is the specific site adaptation of the ASTERIX format for the GP&C ADS-B system is the ICD for the GP&C VHF datalink (VDL) is the specific site adaptation of the ASTERIX format for the Sensor Data Fusion (SDF) unit is an appendix containing lists of references, figures, tables, acronyms and abbreviations.
