4 General Information & Safety Instructions Battery Care To get the best out of the battery, fully charge and use until flat for the first 5-6 times. Then use until flat and fully charge at least once a month. Prolonged storage without charge may cause damage to the battery and result in poor to no charge. It is recommended you fully charge the battery every 6 months for long term storage to keep the battery in good condition. This camera is powered by an internal 3.7V/900mAh lithium battery. Do not dispose of batteries in your household waste. Please contact your local authority for details on safe disposal. Do not expose this Power Bank to damp or moist conditions. Never throw batteries into a fire or expose to excessive heat sources. If batteries are swallowed, please seek immediate medical attention. Always ensure correct +/- battery polarity when installing batteries. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Equipment, which is marked with the WEEE logo (as shown on the left), should not be thrown away with your household waste. 7 Power Charging The Camera Make sure the 900mAh battery has been inserted into the battery bay, with the pull tab accessible and the cover replaced. Attach the charge cable to the micro USB port on the camera and the other end to a 5V/1A USB port or mains adaptor. Charging will tale approximately 3 hours. If the camera is being charge via a non-data USB port (e.g. mains adaptor) the red LED will be lit until the battery is fully charged. If you are charging the camera while in use there will be a different icon in the bottom left corner of the screen to indicate that power is connected. (Battery Only Icon) (Power Low Icon) (Power & Battery Icon) If the camera is being charged with USB port that is data capable (e.g. laptop) the blue LED will be lit until the battery is fully charged, but the camera will be in mass storage mode. This means you can access the data on the installed micro SD card but not use the main camera features. A connected screen splash will show in this mode. Direct Power You can use the camera with no battery installed. Just connect the Camera to a non-data USB port. A power only icon will appear on the screen. This only works with a micro SD card is installed. (Power Only Icon) 5
8 Micro SD Card Card Requirements You cans use a microsd, microsdhc and microsdxc types of card providing they are class 10. The maximum size you can use with the camera is 32Gb. You will approximately have 60 minutes of recording at 4K/25fps, 120 minutes recording at 1080P/60fps or 240 minutes recording at 1080P/30fps. Installing A Micro SD Card Insert the micro SD card into the micro SD port on the camera until the card clicks into place. You may need to use the tip of a pen to push the card in enough to click. Please Note: The card will only fit one way, do not force it in. Removing A Micro SD Card Press the edge of the card until it clicks and let go. The card will spring out of the port enough for you to pull out. You may need to use the tip of a pen to do this. Full Card If the card is full you will see a message on the screen. Format the card in the camera settings to continue or remove and delete files via a PC or laptop. 6
9 Power On/Off Turning The Camera On Once the camera is fully charged or connected to a non-data USB port, press and hold the mode button until you hear the camera beep and the Maxtek screen appears. Turning The Camera Off Press and hold the mode button until you hear the camera beep and the shutdown screen appears. Please Note: Inserting or removing a micro SD card will turn the camera off to protect the data on the card. If the screen goes blank and looks like it is off it may be the screen saver. Press the mode button to wake up the screen. 7

11 Video Mode Video Mode Screen Video mode is the default mode when you turn on the camera. The simple screen displays only a few icons. 14 Time Lapse Mode Time Lapse Mode Screen To enter time lapse mode, press the mode button until you see the time lapse icon. The simple screen displays only a few icons. Time Lapse Mode Icon Photos Taken Photos Available Photo Quality Battery Level Shoot A Time Lapse Press the shutter button on top of the camera to start and stop the time lapse. A count down will be active on the screen. Time Lapse Mode Icon Photos Taken Photos Available Photo Quality Countdown Battery Level You can change the time interval of the shots in the systems menu to between 2 and 60 seconds 12
15 Playback Mode Playback Video To enter photo mode, press the mode button until you see Video highlighted in yellow, then press the shutter button. The simple screen displays only a few icons. Playback Icon File out of available Battery Level Using Playback Mode Use the mode button to cycle through the available files and use the shutter button to select and playback the file. Use the Wi-Fi button to exit the playback mode. Playback Icon Time Elapsed Battery Level Use the shutter button to play/pause and the Wi-Fi button to stop and go back to the file selection screen. 13
16 Preview Mode View Photo To enter photo mode, press the mode button until you see Photo highlighted in yellow, then press the shutter button. The simple screen displays only a few icons. 17 Settings Settings Menu To enter the settings menu, press the mode button until you see Settings highlighted in yellow, then press the shutter button. Use the mode button to cycle through the options and the shutter button to select. Use the Wi-Fi to exit. 15
18 Settings Video Resolution (Video Mode Only) This option will allow you to set the resolution of the file format to be recorded in. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options 1080P (60fps): 1080P (30fps): 4K (25fps): 2.7K (30fps): Pixel Size 1920 x x x x 1524 Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. Please Note: Loop recording is not available in 4K and 2.7K modes. Looping Video (Video Mode Only) This option will allow the file to be over written once the card is full. This option doesn t work with 4K or 2.7K resolution modes. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options OFF > ON Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. 16
19 Settings Time Stamp This option will allow you to add the time and/or date to be added to the video recording or photo as an embedded overlay. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options OFF > Date > Date & Time Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. Exposure This option will allow you to manually alter the exposure level for both video and camera modes in bright or dark conditions. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options -2.0 > -1.7 > -1.3 > -1.0 > -0.7 > -0.3 > 0.0 > 0.3 > 0.7 > 1.0 > 1.3 > 1.7 > 2.0 Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. 17
20 Settings Photo Resolution (Photo Mode Only) This option will allow you to set the resolution of the file format to be photographed in. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options 12MP Wide: 8MP Wide: 5MP Wide: 4MP Wide: Pixel Size 4608 x x x x 1504 Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. Burst (Burst Mode Only) This option only has one option with the firmware installed. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options On 3 Photos Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. 18
21 Settings Time Lapse (Time Lapse Mode Only) This option will allow you to set what interval the camera will take a photo in progressive increments of seconds. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options 2s > 3s > 5s > 10s > 20s > 30s > 60s Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. Continuous Time Lapse (Time Lapse Mode Only) This option will allow you to either take one photo like a self timer or continually take photos until you press the shutter button to stop it. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options OFF > ON Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. 19
22 Settings Frequency (HDMI output Only) This option will allow you choose what format the HDMI frequency will be. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options 50Hz (NTFC) > 60Hz (PAL) > Auto Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. Language This option will allow you choose what language the camera s menus will display. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options English, Simplifiyed Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. 20
23 Settings Date Time This option will allow you to set the time, date and format it will be displayed in. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options Use the shutter button to cycle the values on the yellow highlighted option. One you have reached the value required press the mode button to progress to the next value for the date and time. Once you get to the format you can cycle between the following options: Options DD/MM/YY > MM/DD/YY > YY/MM/DD Once you have set your required values press the Wi-Fi button to save and exit this option. 21
24 Settings Sound Indicator This option will open a sub menu. You will be able to enable or disable beeps on various functions. Use the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button to select from the following options: Options Shutter - This is the sound made when in any of the camera modes. Start Up - This is the sound made on start up and shut down. Beep - This is the sound made with the button presses. Volume - Set the beep volume level between 1-3. Once you have set your required values press the Wi-Fi button to save and exit this option. 22
25 Settings Upside Down This option will allow you to flip the view on the screen 180 o. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options OFF (Normal) > ON (180 o ) Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. Screen Saver This option will turn the screen blank to save power after a selected amount of time in minutes. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options OFF > 1min > 3min > 5min Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. 23
26 Settings Power Save This option will turn the camera off to save power after a selected amount of time in minutes if it s not in use. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options OFF > 1min > 3min > 5min Once you have selected your option you will be returned to the previous menu screen. To go back to the previous menu without selecting an option press the Wi-Fi button. Power Save This option will format the inserted micro SD card. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options NO > YES You will see the waiting screen as the card is formatted and then the complete screen when the action is done. The camera will then go back to the previous mode it was used in. 24
27 Settings Reset This option will reset the camera to factory defaults. Using the mode button to cycle through the available options and the shutter button you can select from the following options: Options NO > YES Once you have selected your option the camera will restart. To go back to the previous menu press the Wi-Fi button. Version This option will display the current firmware installed on the camera. To go back to the previous menu press the Wi-Fi button. X Press the shutter button to exit the menu when the yellow highlight box is around the X. 25
28 Wi-Fi Setting Up for Wi-Fi You will need to download and install Ez icam app to your phone or tablet from the App/Play store. For Apple ios: iphone 5/5s, 6/6+, 6s/6s+ ipad Air & Mini 9iOSg) For Android: Android 4X Quad-core Devices ios / Android App Download Compatibility: Content, playback, sharing and access to the camera s memory card may not be available on some devices. 26
29 Wi-Fi Once you have the Ez icam app installed make sure your smart phone s Wi-Fi function is turned on. Start the Ez icam app. Turn on the Action camera, make sure the micro SD card is inserted and press the Wi-Fi button so the waiting on Wi-Fi Connection... is showing in the screen. Tap the Add Device icon on the app to start the Wi-Fi connection. 27
30 Wi-Fi The app will search for available Wi-Fi connections. Look for and select icam-maxtex. The app will automatically start to connect to the camera. If the camera doesn t automatically connect and requests a WEP code please input to connect the camera. Please Note: When using the Action Camera in Wi-Fi mode your smart phone/tablet will loose Wi-Fi access to the router. You will have to use mobile data for internet access. 28
31 Wi-Fi If the connection is successful you will see the Action Camera s home screen. From the home screen you will be able to view the camera live up to approximately 10m and, use the functions and features available through the Ez icam app. Please Note: If the camera freezes or the Ez icam App freezes on the first connection to a device, reset the both devices and restart the process. 29

33 Wi-Fi Recording Video Make sure the video camera is highlighted in green by tapping on the video camera icon, then tap the red dot to start or stop the recording. Taking A Photo Make sure the camera icon is highlighted in green by tapping on the camera icon, then tap the red dot to capture a photo. Settings Menu Tap the gear icon to access the Settings Menu. You can only change the White Balance and Power Frequency from the setting menu. Tap on either option to access a submenu. Select an option by tapping on the radio dot. You will be returned to the previous screen. Tap back to get back to the home screen. 31
34 Wi-Fi Resolution Tap the current resolution icon to show the options available. Select an option by tapping on the radio dot. You will be returned to the previous screen. Tap back to get back to the home screen. Preview/Download Tap the preview icon to access the files available. Tap on a file to view. Alternatively you can tap on the download icon at the bottom right of the screen to download all available files to your smart phone or tablet. 32
35 Wi-Fi Delete Tap the grid icon on the bottom left to access the delete option on the preview screen. Tap the files you want to delete. A tick icon will appear over the thumbnail to indicate it is selected. Tap the trash icon in the bottom right to delete the selected files 33

37 Assembling Mounts Waterproof Housing Lower the rear door of the waterproof housing and insert the camera. Close and hook the catch over the rear lip of the door. Snap the catch into position by pushing forward over the housing to ensure a waterproof seal. Camera Frame Screw the camera frame mount to the brass screw mounts on the camera frame. Turn the locking screw to secure the placement. Raise the clip enough to slide the camera into position. Push the camera into the frame and check that the clip is over the front edge to keep the camera in the frame. Alternatively you can use the personal clip to mount the camera. Slide the personal clip on the back of the camera frame. Use the crocodile clip to mount the camera on clothing, straps or bags. 35
38 Assembling Mounts Tripod Mount You can connect either the housing or the frame to a tripod, monopod or even a selfie stick using the tripod mount supplied. 1 x Tripod Mount, 1 x Locking Screw, either camera mounts. Handlebar Mount You can connect the camera with the handlebar mount supplied to your bike or a pipe or even a rail. 1 x Handlebar Mount, 2 x Locking Screw, Large 90 Extention, either camera mounts. 36
39 Assembling Mounts Disc Mount The disc mounts have an adhesive back to enable it to be stuck to most surfaces. Alternatively you can use the tether through the side loop to secure the disc mount in to position. Slide either the large or small clips into position and push until they lock into place. To remove the clips pinch the ends of the clip and slide out of the disc mount. 1 x Disc Mount, 1 x Large/Small Clip, 1 x Locking Screw, either camera mounts. Please Note: It is adviable to attach the cable tether to the locking screw at the base of the camera and secure the other end to something other than the base. This can help prevent the loss of the camera through an incedent where the base may break. 37

42 Warranty Certificate Warranty This product is warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and parts for a period of 36 months from the date of purchase. Defects that occur within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion, solely at our option with no charge for parts and labour. The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all rights and remedies in respect of the product the consumer has under existing U.K. laws. Proof of Purchase This warranty is valid for the original purchase and is not transferable. The receipt must be presented with the warranty card when making a claim under this warranty.
