Location Power The DA-9000 needs a clean source of properly phased and grounded 117VAC power at 10 Amps Max. This MUST be provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The outlet the jukebox is connected to must NOT be controlled by a switch nor can the circuit breaker feeding it be shut off at night. MODEM (optional) ROUTER CPE POWER U.P.S. COMPUTER CORE SURGE BATTERY SURGE AMPLIFIER o o o o o o ooo oo o oo LIGHTS MONITOR Fig. 1C - Diagram Refer to the block diagram above. The main power distribution unit is the Uninterruptible Power Supply (U.P.S.). This device contains the main circuit breaker and surge protection. In addition, a battery provides power for the Computer Core and Broadband equipment for up to 10 minutes. This allows momentary power glitches or interruptions that might normally cause the computer to reset to be ignored. If the machine is unplugged to clean behind it, there will be no interruption in a download. If a power failure occurs, the monitor, lighting and amplifier shut down. The computer core will operate from the battery in the UPS. It will stop the selection in play and wait. If the power is still off after about 8 minutes, then the computer begins an orderly shut down of all programs. After another 5 to 10 minutes, the battery will expire in the UPS, and computer will be off. When power is restored, the system will come back up, and resume playing. The amplifier, computer core, and broadband communications equipment are always on. When the location activates the power button on the remote or the jukebox itself, the computer stops the selection in play, blanks the monitor and shuts down the lights and DBA. The computer core also has the capability of shutting down the Router and Modem (if installed). C1-2
Router And Other Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) Installing The Router The E-cast system requires a broadband connection to operate. This can be in the form of a DSL line, Cable Modem, or Satellite. As part of your agreement with E- cast, the broadband connection should have been installed to the location. In addition, a Router would have been programmed for your installation and sent with the Hard Drive. In some cases, the DSL or Cable modem may be placed inside the jukebox cabinet. It is highly recommended that both the router and modem are located inside the jukebox for two reasons. First, it is yours. If the location wishes to use the broadband connection for other purposes such as the food & beverage computer system or a PC in the office, you can lease a port to them as extra income. Second, if the router or modem needs to be reset, the jukebox can cycle the power to them itself or the location can do so with hidden reset buttons. If you are upgrading a location that had an E-cast powered jukebox before, you may be able to use the Router that is already there. If that is the case, and you wish to leave it where it is, proceed to the External Router portion of this section. Installing a new Internal Router, Netopia Cayman 3300 series. (Refer to figure 4B) 1. Remove the Router hold down bracket. 2. Place the router with the front facing the back of the jukebox, line up the keyholes with the studs in the bracket and press down to lock into place. 3. Replace the hold down bracket. 4. Plug the power cube into a socket on the CPE Power Box. (Do NOT plug into the U.P.S.) 5. Route the power cord to the Router and plug into the power connector. 6. Be sure power switch (if used) is set to ON. 7. Connect the computer core to Ethernet output #1 on the router using the LAN cable provided with the router (usually yellow). 8. Connect the Modem to the Modem connector of the Router using the TELCO cable (usually gray). Fig. 2C Small Router C1-3
Moving an existing router, Netopia R7100 series to the jukebox. 1. Locate the large router mounting bracket from the cashbox. 2. Remove the small router mounting bracket from the mounting plate and save for future use. 3. Making sure the Power button is ON (flush with the front panel), iinstall the Router using the large mounting bracket. 4. Plug the router power supply into a socket on the CPE Power Box. (Do NOT plug into the U.P.S.) 5. Route the power cord to the Router and plug into the power connector. 6. Connect the computer core to Ethernet output #1 on the router using a LAN cable. Be sure the selector button is in the Normal (out) position. 7. Connect the output of the DSL or cable Modem to the Line 1 connector of the Router. Fig. 3C - Large Router External Router if it determined to advantageous to have the router outside the jukebox. Run a LAN cable from the Ethernet output of the router to the LAN connection on the computer core. Be sure the modem and router are powered up. FROM: TELEPHONE LINE or CABLE DSL or CABLE MODEM INPUT OUTPUT (WAN) INPUT (MODEM) E-CAST ROUTER OUTPUT (ETHERNET) TO: LAN CONNECTOR ON COMPUTER CORE Fig. 4C - Diagram C1-4
Internal Modem 1. Install the modem where there is room inside the jukebox. Usually, it can be set on top of the core. 2. Connect the power cord (cube) from the modem to the other outlet on the CPE power box. 3. Connect the telephone/cable line to the telephone line input of the UPS. 4. Connect the telephone line output of the UPS to the input of the modem. 5. Connect the output of the modem to the input of the router. Testing When all the network connections have been made, enter the service mode by opening the dome or press and release the service switch. Touch System Settings and Diagnostics Touch Check Network Status Three test buttons will be shown along with a status screen. Touch Gateway (LAN) Test. This test checks the operation of the CPE (Router and Modem) Touch Ecast (WAN) Test. This will test the path to the Ecast servers. Touch RPC Server Test This will log onto the server. If all tests pass, the system is ready to use. C1-5

I. R. Remote Control Installation Of The I.R. Remote Detector And Harness Assembly 1. Plug I.R. remote harness into the SyberSonic CPU Core Assembly at the IR location (See diagram) 2. Route harness and I.R. detector assembly through the cable cover hole on the back of the jukebox. 3. For best results: Locate the detector eye on the wall behind the jukebox. Depending on the location of the jukebox, it maybe necessary to try different heights on the wall to obtain the best result. Keep away from neon signs using HF electronic transformers. For locations that you are unable to mount the detector eye on the wall behind the jukebox, you may try mounting the eye on the back of the jukebox itself. The I.R. signal will bounce off light colored walls and ceilings. NOTE: Infrared (I.R.) light transmitted from the hand held remote control cannot be seen by the naked eye. The LED on the I.R. detector eye will flash when a button has been pressed to show that the I.R. detector eye is receiving a signal from the remote control. Refer to Section E for functions. 11 Paging Microphone Connecting A Paging Microphone Rock-Ola s Advanced SyberSonic Amplifier can accept virtually any paging microphone. Pictured below are wiring diagrams for the most common paging kits. Installation Instructions for Yoga Paging Kit # are in Section J of this manual. The necessary connector is included with Rock-Ola paging kit. To use other paging kits you will need to acquire one (1) Amp part number housing (RMC P/N ST-11244) and four (4) Amp part number contacts (RMC P/N ST-11245) or equivalent. The paging system works by sensing audio on the signal line. Whatever microphone is used, it must have some kind of switch to mute the audio when not in use. Set the Microphone gain switch to LOW and the gain control at midpoint. Press the talk button on the microphone and speak into it. The Status LED on the amplifier should blink and the microphone signal should be heard in the speakers. Adjust the microphone gain control to the loudest level you want the location to be able to have. If more gain is necessary, turn the microphone gain switch to HIGH. CAUTION: Be sure the gain control is turned down to avoid speaker damage from acoustical feedback. Rock-Ola Red Black Shield Yoga Microphone Kit Refer to the amplifier settings for adjusting which channels to hear paging, the music level while paging, and length of time before the music comes back up. NOTE: If the jukebox is idle with auxiliary background music inputs off, there will be a short delay of approximately 2 seconds for the amplifiers to wake up when a paging signal is detected.
