1 RF Remote Control Kit The Rock-Ola RF Remote control operates via radio and therefore does not need to see the jukebox or even be in the same room. There are over 1000 channels available for reliable operation. A bracket is included to mount the transmitter to a wall or counter. NOTE: The RF remote and IR remotes cannot be used at the same time. Mount the Receiver. Using the illustrations as a guide, mount the receiver to the cabinet inside the jukebox. Perform a shutdown (Ecast Product) and turn the main power off. Connect the red telephone style connector to the volume control input of the computer. Connect the wired remote (if used) to the other connector on the RF Receiver. Plug the receiver power cable into the IR connector on the computer. Turn the power back on. 4 2. Install the antenna. Locate a place behind the jukebox as high as possible away from metal and neon signs. Clean the area where the antenna is to be mounted. Remove the protective covering on the adhesive pad and affix the antenna. Run the antenna cable through the cable entrance hole in the back of the jukebox and attach the connector to the antenna jack on the receiver. 3. Programming. The transmitter and receiver must be set to the same channel. The units are factory set to channel 1. If another device is using the same channel, the channel may be changed be removing the cover on the transmitter and changing the DIP switches on the transmitter to a new channel. Then, set DIP switches 1 10 on the receiver to match the transmitter. NOTE: If the remote control is to be used with a CD jukebox having software version 6.26 or lower, or Ecast software version or lower, DIP switch 11 must be OFF. The Power and special (*) functions will not operate. Fig Mounting the transmitter. If desired, the transmitter may be attached to a wall or counter using the bracket and screws provided. WARNING: DO NOT mount the transmitter to metal as range and reliability will be sharply reduced. 4.1 Remove the belt clip and switch cover. 4.2 Install the bracket using the flathead screw. 4.3 Mount the transmitter using the 8 x 5/8 screws. 5 5. Operation. If activated in the setup, the buttons on the transmitter perform the following functions: CH 1 Up / Down buttons CH 2 Up / Down buttons Controls the volume of the Internal amplifier on 2 channel systems as programmed in the 4 channel system. Controls the volume of the External amplifier on 2 channel systems as programmed in the 4 channel system. Cancel >>I Cancels the track in play. Pause Pauses the track in play. Press again to resume. Power 0/I Special * Turns user power on and off. (computer remains on) Multifunction button. Adds a credit when tapped following the rules established in programming. Enters screen calibration if held for 3 seconds (Ecast Powered models only) Fig Maintenance. The transmitter uses a lithium coin battery with a life span of 3 to 7 years depending on use. 6 Troubleshooting First, be sure all the cables are connected and the antenna is properly installed. Have the transmitter in hand when looking at the receiver. Make sure the jukebox is otherwise working properly as well as the wired remote. Symptom Problem Solution Inoperative - NO buttons work. Defective Receiver module. 1. DIP switches in transmitter are not set exactly as switches 1 through 10 on the receiver. 2. Bad battery in transmitter. 1. Cable between receiver and volume control input on computer bad or not connected. 1. Re-locate antenna higher or away from metal objects. 2. Re-locate transmitter away from metal or appliances. 3. Replace transmitter battery. 1. Select new channel by setting the DIP switches in the transmitter and receiver to new settings. 2. Re-locate antenna to a new orientation. 1. If using CD EPROM below 6.27 or Ecast 2.4.0, DIP switch 11 must be off. 1. If using CD EPROM Version 6.27 or higher or Ecast version or higher, DIP switch 11 in the receiver must be "ON". 2. CD EPROM below 6.27 or Ecast will not support these functions and DIP switch 11 must be off. 1. Enable function in setup mode. 2.
