7 1 INTRODUCTION This guide provides instructions for installing the VeriFone V910 kit on the Sapphire Site Controller. Description The V910 KIT extends VIPER application resources to Ruby/Sapphire/ Topaz customers. The VIPER software application functions as an Electronic Payment Server (EPS). This server processes and handles all electronic payment transactions for a petroleum C-store location. The V910 is a single-board computer kit that can run its own VIPER application on its own CPU, RAM, and Mass Storage. It takes power and backup battery from existing Sapphire infrastructure. It also provides a Network Switch for connectivity without adding a port on the site router. Sapphire III
