3 Portable Outdoor Speaker with Bluetooth Wireless Technology Warranty Details The product is guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and parts for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Defects that occur within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion. The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all rights and remedies in respect of the product that the consumer has under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and similar state and territory laws. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. 3

5 General Safety Instructions Read this manual thoroughly before first use, even if you are familiar with this type of product. Keep the manual in a safe place for future reference, along with the completed warranty card, purchase receipt and carton. If applicable, pass these instructions on to the next owner of the appliance. Follow all instructions and heed all warnings in this manual. The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury when correctly adhered to. Usage environment: In order to prevent environmental factors (dampness, dust, food, liquid etc.) harming the Bluetooth Speaker, only use the product in well ventilated, clean and dry environments, away from excessive heat, very low temperatures and humidity. Keep the product away from direct sunlight, sharp objects, liquids, oils and other chemicals. Protect from heat: Do not leave the unit near any heat sources, stoves, ovens or other appliances (including amplifiers) which produce heat. WARNING! Protect from water: Ensure that this unit does not get wet. Protect it from splashing water. Do not use it with wet hands, and do not immerse it in water or other liquids. Do not use it near a sink, bath, shower, or in humid or damp conditions. Do not place objects filled with water (such as a vase) on top of the product. Damage: In case of damage, do not disassemble, repair or modify the product yourself. Contact our after sales support line or qualified personnel for advice on repair or replacement. Intended purpose: Use this product only for its intended purpose. It is intended for personal use only, not for commercial or industrial use. Usage restriction: This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product by a person responsible for their safety. Children: Supervise young children to ensure that they do not play with the product. Close supervision is necessary when the product is used by or near children. Packaging: Plastic packaging materials can present a suffocation hazard for young children and babies. Keep all packaging materials out of the reach of children. Voltage: Before connecting the power adaptor and turning on the product, ensure that the electrical voltage and circuit frequency correspond to those indicated on the product rating label. Inappropriate use: Only use this product in accordance with the instructions in this manual. Repair: The product has no user-serviceable parts contained inside. Do not attempt to repair, disassemble or modify it. Any modifications could void your warranty. 6 Product Overview 1. Carry Handle: To carry or hang the unit. 2. Status Indicator Light: To view the Connection status. 3. / VOL+: Short press: Go to the next song. Long press: Increase the volume. 4. / : Press to power On/Off or press to Pause or Resume playback. 5. Speaker 6. / VOL-: Short press: Go to the previous song Long press: Decrease the volume. 7. Lock/Unlock: Turn the handle to lock/unlock the top of the unit to access the Micro USB port Indicator Blue LED:The blue indicator will flash quickly to indicate that it is ready for pairing with a Bluetooth enabled device. Once paired, the blue LED will stay illuminated. 6

7 Getting Started Before First use Read the Safety Instructions provided in this manual before using the appliance. Charging The unit has been partially charged at the factory. We recommend you fully charge it before first use. Turn the handle towards the unlock symbol in order to unlock the top of the unit. Plug the Micro USB end of the supplied charging cable into the Portable Outdoor Speaker and the other end into your computer. It will take approximately 2-3 hours to fully charge. When the battery is full, the battery indicator light will turn off. NOTE: You can only play music on the unit once it is paired with an external device via Bluetooth. A warning tone will sound when the battery charge is low. Power ON/OFF In order to turn the unit On/Off, press and hold the / button. Connecting with Bluetooth Wireless Technology To connect the unit to your external device via Bluetooth Wireless Technology for the first time, use the following instructions: 1. The unit will enter search mode automatically when you turn on the power for the first time. The blue LED indicator will flash and the unit will then enter pairing mode. 2. When pairing, put your device (e.g. mobile phone) within 3 metres of the unit. Activate the Bluetooth function on your device (refer your device s user manual for instructions). Your device will start searching for nearby Bluetooth enabled units. 3. Select AOBS-0216 from the list of units found by the device. 4. If the device requests a password, enter 0000 and press OK to start pairing. Once paired, the unit will enter connection mode and the blue LED will stay illuminated. 5. Make sure the unit is within 10 metres of the device and there is no obstructions between them (such as a wall). You can control the music selection through the device and the Portable Outdoor Speaker. NOTE: Alternatively, you can tap your NFC enabled device to the NFC symbol on the unit to pair your Bluetooth enabled device to the unit. 7

8 Instructions Bluetooth Connection Mode When turned on, your unit will automatically pair with the last Bluetooth enabled device that it was paired to. To disconnect the last paired device and connect to another device, unpair the Bluetooth on your paired device (refer to your device s user manual for further instructions). The Portable Outdoor Speaker will then enter pairing mode and the Indicator Light will start flashing blue. Bluetooth playback Long press / VOL- decrease the volume. Long press / VOL+ to increase the volume. Press to pause or resume playback. Short press / VOL- to go to the previous track. Short press / VOL+ to go to next the track. 9 FAQs If you experience problems with your Portable Outdoor Speaker, check the table below for solutions to common problems. If the problem persists after checking the suggested solutions, please contact our after sales support line for advice. Do not attempt to repair the product yourself. Problem Failure of Bluetooth pairing The indicators do not glow, and Bluetooth cannot be connected Low sound Bluetooth connection range is short A pause or interruption occurs during normal use. Solution The unit will search and connect to the previously connected Bluetooth device automatically. To search and pair a different Bluetooth device, please unpair the previous Bluetooth device first. The unit enters sleep mode after a period of inactivity. Restart the speaker to pair and resume the Bluetooth connection. The unit is at the default low level output. Turn up the volume of the unit. The output volume of the connected Bluetooth device is low. Turn up the volume of the Bluetooth device. There may be an obstruction between the unit and the Bluetooth device. Remove the obstruction. There may be an obstruction between the unit and the connected Bluetooth device. Remove the obstruction. The distance between the Portable Outdoor Speaker and the connected Bluetooth device may exceed the connection range. Place the unit closer to the Bluetooth device. 9

Please be aware that if your product is capable of retaining user-generated data (such as files stored on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile telephone, songs stored on a portable media player, games saved on a games console or files stored on a USB memory stick) during the process of repair, some or all of your stored data may be lost. We recommend you save this data elsewhere prior to sending the product for repair. You should also be aware that rather than repairing goods, we may replace them with refurbished goods of the same type or use refurbished parts in the repair process. Please be assured though, refurbished parts or replacements are only used where they meet ALDI s stringent quality specifications. If at any time you feel your repair is being handled unsatisfactorily, you may escalate your complaint.
