2 Upgrade Guide Increased ACT! Compatibility Compared to ACT! 2008/9 the latest software is compatible with: Microsoft Office 2010 & Outlook 2010 Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit systems) Windows Small Business Server 2011 Internet Explorer 9 ACT 2013 will also be supported with Windows 8 and Microsoft Office 2013 upon their release, or following the release of a Sage service pack update. Earlier ACT! versions will not be supported with Microsoft Windows 8 or Office Improved ACT! Interface A new toolbar provides quick links to everyday ACT! tasks including creating a new call, adding a new contact & logging a new history New Outlook-style left toolbar links to ACT! calendar, task list, companies, groups, reports & other ACT! views Related tasks provide contextual links to popular ACT! functions from current view Collapse the left toolbar to maximise the ACT! workspace ACT! Scratchpad The ACT scratchpad is a virtual ACT! notepad for capturing impromptu notes, contact details and personal reminders - even if the main ACT! application isn't open. Set priorities and check-off items once completed and send Scratchpad items to ACT! as activities, notes or history entries by assigning them to contacts.
3 Upgrade Guide ACT! Universal Search The new universal search option finds detail wherever it is stored in ACT - including attached documents. Run ACT searches on keywords and phrases in attached files including: MS Word documents, PDF s and Excel spread-sheets. Universal searches can be filtered by: groups, attachments, histories, data range, opportunities and companies to control search criteria. Results are weighted so the best matching items are easily found. ACT! Premium Mobile ACT! data is available to mobile users in an app-style interface from smartphones and tablets. ACT! Premium Mobile supplied with ACT! Premium makes ACT! data accessible on ipad, iphone, Android and other devices with an HTML5 compatible browser. Real time access to ACT! Contacts, Calendar, Opportunities, Notes and History - no sync needed Works on any HTML5 browser including ipad & iphone - even from PC and Mac Installs on your server - no monthly or annual Sage fees Improved ACT! Data Import Supports Excel: Microsoft Excel data can now be imported directly without the need to convert to CSV format Add new fields: Configure new ACT! fields on the fly as part of the ACT! import wizard Import summary: Upon completion, ACT! summarises the number of records imported and reports any errors encountered.
4 Upgrade Guide ACT! Smart Tasks ACT! Smart Tasks are a step up from the basic activity series by triggering more automated actions including scheduling activities, updating fields and sending s. Smart Tasks can be applied manually to contact records or scheduled to run automatically. This can include: Scheduling a reminder activity 1 month before renewal date Alerting users with a high priority activity if an opportunity hasn t been updated within x days Sending a customer confirmation and scheduling a follow up activity Updating a status field when an opportunity is converted By reducing administration Smart Task automation frees ACT! users to focus efforts on revenue generating activity. Customisable Sales Opportunities Compared with ACT! 2008 and 2009 the latest edition includes a new opportunity module offers greater flexibility to manage sales: Opportunity views now look & behave in a consistent way to contacts, groups & companies Create custom opportunity layouts with new fields to capture more data about each selling opportunity Link histories & activities with an opportunity record Link multiple contacts to sales opportunities Personalise opportunity layouts with tabs & graphics ACT! & Google Integration Gmail: Send & receive s from Gmail or ACT! & save a history in the contact history.
