1 Accession Mobile Communicator is a Unified Communications softphone client that you can use on your PC. It makes all the features of your FairPoint Hosted PBX desk phone available to you anywhere, any time on your Mobile Smart phone using your cellular data plan to register to your FairPoint account. Accession Mobile Communicator is a subscription-based feature that you download to run on your Apple or Android Smartphone. It is available as a standard feature on FairPoint s Hosted PBX Business Advantage Plus and Business Advantage Premium seat packages. With this application, you can easily make and receive calls directly from your from your Mobile device. Equipment Requirements To utilize Accession Mobile communicator you will need an ios or Android Smart Phone or tablet, equipped with a data plan and running a supported software version, per the table below. ios ios 10.x ios 9.x ios 8.x ios 7.x ios 6.x ios 5.x ios 4.x Accession Mobile Y Y Y N N N N Android 7.x 6.x 5.x 4.x 3.x Accession Mobile Y Y Y Y N N N Please Note: The screen shots presented in this document are native to ios operating systems. The Andriod OS process is similar but may look slightly different and action buttons may not appear in the same locations. To download Accession Mobile Communicator, simply follow the steps outlined below: Installing Your Accession Mobile Communicator 1. Depending on you device type, go to your Apple or Android Apps store from your smart device home page. Initiate a Search and type in accession (the following procedural screen shots were taken from an iphone but the process for an Android device is similar). Page 1 of 10

2 2. Select Accession Communicator by Metaswitch and request a download of the app. Once downloaded Open the application Page 2 of 10

3 3. You will next be prompted to allow the application to access your Contacts, device Microphone and provide you with notifications. In order to get the most functionality from Accession, it is strongly suggested that you allow for all three. 4. Next click Log in and then select the appropriate FairPoint carrier entity. 4 5. There are two End User License Agreements which should be reviewed, one for Accession and one specific to FairPoint, if you agree to both click Accept 6. Next, next input your 10 digit telephone number user name and your CommPortal password. Click Log in. Page 4 of 10

5 7. Chose the device you would like to use should your data connect be of poor quality (typically you would select your cell phone). Click Next. A brief tutorial will then be presented, just sweep left to run through these tips or click Close. 8. To access options Click the three bar ICON at the top left or swipe right. Page 5 of 10

6 Contacts - Select contacts to view your contact list. By typing a name or number in the search window provided you can quickly get to the contact you are looking to call. The All tab Shows all your contacts Whereas the Favorites tab can hold frequently dialed contacts that you select. To add a contact to the Favorites tab first select the contact from you list and click the Star ICON. The star will turn gold and this contact will now appear as a favorite. To reverse this process click the sat again and the contact will be removed from favorites. Page 6 of 10

7 Dialer Select Dialer to open the keypad for calling out using your Accession client. Please note that when using the client your calling ID name and number information provided by the client will be that of your business line, not of your cell phone. Simply enter the number you wish to dial and click Call. Click the to delete input digits, Click the if you wish to add this number as a new contact. Meetings This feature is not presently available with Accession Mobile. Page 7 of 10

8 Call History You can view All call history or only your Missed calls by selecting the appropriate tab in the top banner section. The number of missed messages since you last reviewed them will be represented by the red callout ICON located at the top left and will increment each time a call has been missed. The example below shows that this user has 3 Missed messages. To delete the history click on Clear. Page 8 of 10

9 Messages In Messages you will access your Inbox. Your messages appear in chronological order and if speech to text transcription is provisioned will provide a machine transcribed version of the first 30 seconds of the callers recording, allowing for a quick visual of the contents and easy prioritization of calls by the user. Unread messages will have a ICON to the left of the caller s name. Once you click on the entry it will turn gray and present you with a play button ICON to play your saved message. Click the ICON if you wish to activate your speaker phone for playback. After listening to the call you have several options. You can click the green Call Back button to initiate a call to the person who left the message, delete the messasse or you can click on the ICON to the right of the entry. Clicking this ICON will bring you to Page 9 of 10

10 the screen on the right above. Here you can re-mark the call as unread, delete or forward this message as an . The will forward the transcribed message as well as an attached wave file of the message. Call screen When you are in a call the following screen will be presented. Hold Click the hold button to place the call on hold. The caller will hear music on hold. Mute Click mute to mute your microphone Keypad Click keypad to expose a dialer to key in required digits. Speaker Click to toggle speakerphone functionality. Video- Click to video chat with another business group member. Switch Switch allow you to push a call to another twinned device such as your desk phone or PC. Add Call Initiates a three way call. Transfer The transfer key will blind transfer a call to any number of your choosing End Call Click to terminate your call. Page 10 of 10
