1 Q2 2017/2018 (Oct - Dec) Platform dev Multimedia Community Research Programs Design Search Q2 2017/2018 Oct Nov Dec Multi-Content Revisions (MCR) Goal: Have MCR sufficiently ready so that the Multimedia and Search Platform teams can start using it to test and prototype desired userfacing features and additional infrastructure additions/changes Teams: WMDE, MediaWiki Development Implentation of core logic. Integration Multiple devs involved to integrate MCR code with existing MediaWiki features like diff, editing, etc. Testing and QA Test MCR implementation MediaInfo Wikibase Extension Goal: Finish development of the MediaInfo extension so that development of dependent features can begin. Research, coding work, and testing Multimedia team familiarizes themselves with Wikibase and existing code base. Makes necessary changes to ensure the extension is able to support/fulfill both user-facing features (ex: text in multiple languages), and API features (ex: using filename as a secondary identifer) Deployment Deploy the full v1 extension on Beta C Teams: Wikidata, Multimedia Metrics and Evaluation Goal: Gather statistical data and analysis to better understand usage patterns on Commons and areas where Structured Data might provide improvement. Teams: Discovery Eventlogging Identify existing eventlogging for Commons on projects (if any) and create (as needed) eventlogging schema and deploy Research Search habits using metrics Identification of behaviors that can help to make search on Commons better Tool Building Coding of any analysis tools that may need to built Statistical Breakdowns Number of users across projects, types of file uploads, % breakdown by file type, breakdown by license type, etc. Community Outreach and Feedback Goal: Obtain input from community members of all types (photographers, Admins, GLAMs, etc.) on proposed features and deployment strategies. Teams: Community Contributors Focus Group Build up and facilitate a focus group of Commons and Wikidata contributors for (long-term) feedback and input on Structured Data on Commons Cleanup and update drive for the info portal about Structured Data on Commons Making the info pages about the project on Wikimedia Commons up-to-date and prepared for upcoming development and stakeholder interaction. Attribution Generator and Structured Data on Commons discussion Explore potential collaboration / integration of the Attribution Generator with Structured Data on Wikimedia Commons. Define/finalize high-level feature list for MVP Goal: Come to a conclusion on the feature set that defines MVP (or V1) of the project. Confirm whether first feature will be Multilingual file captions Define MVP Define a high-level set of features that both satisfy grant requirements and fulfill the needs of the Commons community.
