6 Information Architecture Information Architecture (IA): Foundation upon which a site is built Inventory of content and the needs of end users who access content Defines a websiteʼs structure, hierarchy, and navigation Ensures that user interaction with site content is intuitive Deliverables from IA consultation include site map, wireframe diagrams for key pages Once wireframes are completed, the graphic user interface development process will begin

7 Information Architecture Site map: Site map is a visual depiction of the overall structure and hierarchy of the pages on a website The site map for the new USM website is in the final phases of development.

8 Information Architecture Wireframes: Schematic depictions of key pages on a website. Wireframes represent the page structure and content requirements of a given page Wireframes inform the design team as they begin the process of developing the look and feel of the website

12 The Content Development Process How weʼll work with you Weʼll work collaboratively with you to make the process smooth and as easy as possible 1. We will provide a planning spreadsheet to overview content inventory, action items, and status 2. Schedule one-on-one initial review meetings Review existing content Determine priorities for updating and revising content 3. Edit the priority pages and submit for review 4. Finalize the priority pages and schedule follow-up one-on-one meeting to demonstrate publication through the new CMS

13 Final Content Deliverables How youʼll proceed from here Weʼll give you the knowledge and tools youʼll need to easily update and maintain your pages and sites At our follow-up meetings, weʼll insert the edited and finalized priority pages into the CMS, providing a demonstration on how to do it yourself You can then determine your priorities for the remainder of your site and update the pages yourself accordingly using our content plan template We will also provide you with a Drupal information and reference guide to help you through the process
