2 Preface Welcome to the Touring Driver Test Drive and Roadmap! This document is a guide for your self-paced tour of Scoreboard and it has many pages simply due to the number of screen images and illustrations provided. Take the entire tour to experience Scoreboard from multiple user perspectives or just focus on the section and viewpoint that fits your role. 4 Take the Executive or Manager Tour Why would an Executive or Manager use Scoreboard? To visualize organizational performance To communicate overall strategy to the rest of the organization To determine the best actions and initiatives to drive improvements To drive organizational alignment To monitor overall organizational health While an Executive or Manager will gain great insight and derive strategic value from using Scoreboard, they will not necessarily build scorecards, dashboards, reports, etc. as a power user that understands every feature/function of the software. Scoreboard functionality for Executives and Managers is focused on viewing critical information quickly with strategic aspects of the organization visible within just a few clicks from any device (desktops, notebooks, tablets and mobile smart phones). Additionally, Executives and Managers have the opportunity to communicate with employees within Scoreboard itself to allow everyone to work together to drive improvement. Once you have accessed the Scoreboard demo environment via the link and log-in credentials provided, you are ready to explore Scoreboard from an Executive or Manager s perspective. Please follow this tour of how an Executive or Manager at Mobileworld will navigate and leverage Scoreboard: The Home Page When an Executive or Manager first logs into Scoreboard, the Home page appears as shown here: MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

5 On the Home page, an Executive or Manager can quickly see important information at-a-glance, including performance alerts requiring attention, information on critical KPIs, required KPI updates and any tasks that may require attention. View Alerts Here View Responsibilities Here Alternatively, the Home page can serve as a fast jumping off portal to quickly navigate to key detailed information about Alerts, Tasks, and KPIs throughout the solution. 6 Exploring Alerts Click on Alerts to display New Alerts and an Alert History listing in the pane to the right. If you wish to see the detail for any KPIs displayed within the right pane, simply click on the KPI. 7 After you ve finished exploring, you can return to the Home page by clicking Home on the far left of the screen, as shown here: Click Here to Return to Home page. Exploring Tasks (Initiatives) Executives and Managers often oversee and have ownership of strategic Initiatives. If you are on the Home page and click on the My Tasks option, as shown here, you will display some detailed status information about those Tasks/Initiatives on the right side of the screen: MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

8 Click on My Tasks to show the status of your individual Tasks in the pane to the right. Just as with Alerts, Executives and Managers can drill down to see details about an Initiative, individual Task or project by clicking on one within the pane to the right as shown here: Click on Build a SEO Capability to explore more information about this Initiative. A detailed view of that Initiative is displayed with more information regarding performance against schedule and budget. 10 Exploring KPIs Scoreboard provides Executives and Managers an immediate way to see a listing of critical KPIs from the Home page. Color coding of the KPIs helps to put strategic focus on the right things at the right time. Click on My KPIs to show the details of your most critical Key Performance Indicators in a listing in the pane to the right. From this convenient listing of KPIs, you can click on a specific KPI in the list to explore more details. Click on any KPI that interests you. KPIs with red symbols are underperforming, green are operating above threshold/expectations, and those with gray (no color) are KPIs that have no data updated for that particular time MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

11 period. For example, if any KPIs are red, click on one of those since it is an area of potential concern: Click on a KPI that interests you to see more details. You can now view the performance trend for the KPI you selected as illustrated here: Some additional points of interest to explore on the above screen include: Hover your mouse over any value point on the line graph to view details See other months by clicking the forward and back arrows in the upper right beside the month name Click on the KPIs Tab to toggle to a data-centric view instead of a chart MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

Some Executives and Managers may be directly responsible for updating KPIs. To update their KPIs, they can simply click on KPI Updates from the Home page as shown here: Click on KPI Updates to display any KPIs you may be responsible for updating in the pane to the right. 13 Bookmarks to See Everything That Matters Quickly and Easily to Manage Your Business Executives and Managers can have everything they need to see bookmarked for instant viewing every time they log into Scoreboard. To tour the bookmarks set by Mobileworld s Executives, click on the Bookmarks menu option as illustrated here: Click Bookmarks. Once a Mobileworld Executive or Manager clicks to see their Bookmarks (these will be personally defined and unique to each individual Scoreboard user), a listing of bookmarked items appears. In this example, the first bookmark to appear is an organizational Strategy Map that shows an overall view of current performance and allows an Executive or Manager to quickly identify areas requiring their attention, as well as visibility to performance trends since the previous reporting period. Red signals an area that is performing below target for the given period. The upward and downward arrows show how performance is trending since the last period. 14 To explore additional bookmarks and views that Executives and Managers find valuable, simply click on another bookmark from the listing as shown here: Click on the bookmark you wish to view from this middle pane. Clicking on Sales Pipeline displays a view of a sales funnel. These dashboard depictions and layouts are completely customizable to suit your organization. Bookmarks that are particularly valuable for Managers are those that highlight all areas/kpis that are underperforming, those that illuminate KPIs that are trending in the wrong direction, and those that indicate whether organizational initiatives are working to improve performance. Using Scoreboard for Communication and Organizational Alignment One of the key advantages Scoreboard provides Executives and Managers is the ability to communicate with team members and employees directly within the software to drive alignment and performance improvements. The Mobileworld Tour you are exploring is a View Only experience. If you are ready to try a Full Test Drive with your KPIs and data, please request a Full Test Drive by ing our team at testdrive@spiderstrategies.com and we will set up a working environment where you can create new scorecards, dashboards, reports and more as well as add comments throughout the system. If you re not ready with your own example and data yet, here is a short explanation of how an Executive or Manager can communicate with team members within Scoreboard: In this example, a Mobileworld Manager has logged into Scoreboard and sees that there is an issue with Customer Churn: MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

15 By clicking on the Show Notes tab at the bottom of the screen, the manager can see any employee notes on this KPI. To get a message out to his/her team, they can easily Add a new Note for anyone that is tied to this KPI to see when they are in Scoreboard: By clicking the Add Note button as shown here, the manager can add information or instruction for his/her team. 18 Take the KPI Manager and/or Performance Analyst Tour Why would a KPI Manager and/or Performance Analyst use Scoreboard? To define, track and manage KPIs To create reports, dashboards, alerts and more to facilitate better decision-making To deploy a powerful and easy-to-use performance management tool across their organization For an easier and faster way to present performance trends and results to upper management If your role will require you to create scorecards, dashboards and more for use across your organization and/or by your management team, the best test drive for you may be our Full Test Drive (Race Car Driver) option where you can try the functionality that allows you to create new scorecards, dashboards, reports, etc. To request a full function test drive, simply our team at testdrive@spiderstrategies.com and let us know. For this Touring Test Drive, you are working within a View Only example, so the goal is to explore the types of objects and views you can create with Scoreboard and the various ways you can make them easily available to the rest of your organization. We will explore scorecards, dashboards, initiatives, documents, reports and briefings in this tour. After you log into the Scoreboard Touring Test Drive via the link and credentials that were ed to you, the Home page will be the first screen that appears. The Home Page When a user first logs into Scoreboard, the Home page appears as shown here: MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

19 The above Home page is thoroughly explained in the Executive/Manager Tour in the previous section of this document. From this page, we will navigate to investigate the Mobileworld scorecard. The Scorecard objects allow you to see a hierarchical view of organizational performance. Within Scorecards, you can define your performance goals and then update your KPI values manually or with automated data feeds. Each KPI gets a numerical score between 0-10 and an associated color of red, yellow, or green. Scoreboard automatically rolls up your weighted KPI scores to objectives and perspectives so you can see how well you re executing on your overall strategy within an intuitive, color-coded view. Let s take a look On the Home page, click on Scorecards in the upper left of the screen as shown here: Click on Scorecards on the far-left menu. MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

20 The following Scorecard Selection menu will appear on the left. You will see that there is a high-level organizational scorecard called Mobileworld Inc. and departmental scorecards listed beneath it. We want to explore the overall Mobileworld business via the various object types, so click on the blue Select button to the right of the Mobileworld Inc. scorecard as illustrated below: Click on the blue Select button. Exploring the Mobileworld Scorecards Once you have selected the Mobileworld scorecard, the following screen view will display, showing overall performance for the Mobileworld organization for the given month along with a chart of performance trended over the past year. Note during your tour, you may see a different month displayed. MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

21 From the above screen, you can navigate to view scorecards specifically focused on these perspectives: Financial, Customer, Internal Processes and Organizational Capacity. Click on the Internal Processes item to show the information for that facet of the Mobileworld business as shown here: Exploring the Mobileworld Dashboards Display the Internal Processes scorecard by clicking on that item in the listing under the Mobileworld high-level scorecard. Another powerful object you will be able to create for your organization within Scoreboard is a Dashboard. Scoreboard allows organizations to create Strategy Maps as well as traditional Dashboards with multiple KPIs represented by various chart and display styles. Scoreboard users have the ability to drill-down through Dashboards to underlying data, performance trends, and comments shared by their colleagues. From your current screen, click on Dashboards, as shown below, to display the Mobileworld dashboards available in this example: MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

22 Click on Dashboards as shown here to display the list of available Mobileworld dashboards. The first dashboard to display is the Mobileworld Strategy Map: The Mobileworld Strategy Map clearly shows the current month s performance across the organization by Perspectives and Objectives and visually portrays how those objectives influence each other. Through this Strategy Map, anyone can see which areas require attention and resources due to the color-coding AND the ability to see how objective performance is trending since the last period. After reviewing the Mobileworld Strategy Map, click on the next Dashboard item called KPI History Dashboard to see another example of a presentation style that is possible within dashboards. 23 Exploring the Mobileworld Initiatives Next, we will explore the Mobileworld Initiatives. Simply click on Initiatives as shown here: Click on Initiatives as shown here to display the list of available Mobileworld Initiatives. One of the key benefits of using Scoreboard is the ability to fix underperforming objectives by defining Initiatives within Scoreboard to drive improvement at any KPI, Objective, or Perspective level. Scoreboard facilitates taking action based on data-driven insight! Scoreboard uses Earned Value Management (EVM) to predict if you ll finish on time and under budget. All you have to update is how much you ve spent and your percent complete. MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

24 The first example that displays is an Initiative to Migrate Servers to the Cloud: You can quickly see that the Initiative to migrate Mobileworld s servers to the cloud is behind schedule by 23 days, but is under budget thus far. To see even more detail, scroll down when you are viewing the above screen, and you will see a graph of the Initiative s historical performance as displayed here: MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

25 If you click on the Status Updates tab as shown below, you will see all the status updates logged since the start of the project: Click on the Status Updates tab as shown here to display detailed status information that has been updated by the Initiative Owner over time. Explore the sample Initiatives and then we will move on to seeing how relevant Documents can be shared with other Scoreboard users across your organization. 26 Exploring the Mobileworld Documents To view the Mobileworld Documents that have been shared within Scoreboard, click on Documents on the far-left menu as shown here: Click on Documents as shown here to display a listing of documents that have been shared across Mobileworld within this instance of Scoreboard. Mobileworld users can see relevant documents and download them right from within Scoreboard. This feature can be useful for sharing detailed information and related documents to help explain strategy, objectives, and MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

27 initiatives/projects put in place to improve performance, etc. Making documents readily available within Scoreboard spares users from having to search elsewhere on your network or in other tools to find documents that help them understand the complete picture around any element of this KPI management system. Exploring the Mobileworld Reports With Scoreboard, you can generate Pre-Built Reports or create Custom Reports. Scoreboard s pre-built reports give you results in a few simple clicks, such as listing all of your red KPIs, or comparing common KPIs across organizations. You can also create ad-hoc custom reports to explore your data via Scoreboard s report writer - which combines powerful report-writing filters with your choice of layout. To view some sample Mobileworld reports, simply click on Reports from the far-left menu as shown here: Click on Reports as shown here to display a listing of Mobileworld reports. Once an example report displays on the right of the screen, you can scroll to the right or down to see more data. MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

28 Exploring the Mobileworld Briefings Scoreboard allows you to create Briefings which are like PowerPoint presentations, but with live data. You can assemble scorecards, dashboards, and reports into a multi-slide briefing to share with others within your organization. Briefings are especially useful when you are asked to deliver periodic presentations and/or performance updates to Executives and Managers. The Briefings have a presentation mode that allows you to advance through your Briefing pages and have your data fully interactive to facilitate discussions. If you click on something to drill down, you can easily resume your presentation with one click. Scoreboard Briefings make it easier to conduct management and team meetings without having to spend hours creating PowerPoint presentations each month or quarter. To view available Mobileworld Briefings, click on Briefings as shown here: MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

29 Click on Briefings as shown here to display a listing of Mobileworld briefings. The Mobileworld Briefing is called Monthly Staff Meeting and the first page of that briefing is immediately displayed as shown here: To advance through the pages of the Monthly Staff Meeting Briefing, you have several options. 30 One option is to click the down arrow and select any specific page that interests you as shown here: Click on the drop-down box to display the Page Selector. Then, click on the particular page you wish to display. Another option for advancing the pages of your briefing is to use the forward/back arrows at the top of the screen, as shown here: Return to page 1 of 13, the Mobileworld Strategy Map. To test drive the Briefing Presentation mode, click the blue Start button as shown here: MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

31 The Briefing is now presented in Full Screen mode and you can advance through the pages while delivering your presentation by either of the two methods described previously or by using the Page Down/Page Up keys on your keyboard. 32 While in presentation mode, users can drill down to see details and additional areas/views within Scoreboard that may not be part of the briefing itself. 34 Ways to Share the Various Scoreboard Objects Scoreboard makes it easy to share any objects (scorecards, dashboards, reports, etc.) that you create for your organization. Objects that you create within your Scoreboard instance will be visible to other Scoreboard users in your organization. What they can see and do (view-only, edit, create new, etc.) can be controlled within Administration settings within Scoreboard. Objects can be set as Bookmarks so users have immediate and easy access to their favorites every time they log into Scoreboard. Dashboard objects can be shared and embedded in outside applications and accessed from outside of Scoreboard. Objects can be Sent To Briefings, a Printer, a PDF document, PowerPoint and PNG image files for sharing. Apart from the Briefings, the other file outputs can then be shared with people that do not use Scoreboard. While viewing any object within Scoreboard, you can access the upper-right Send To menu by clicking as shown here: This concludes the self-paced tour of the Mobileworld example from the KPI Manager or Performance Analyst s perspective. 36 Take the KPI (Measure) Owner and/or Updater Tour Why would a KPI (Measure) Owner and/or Updater use Scoreboard? To update key measures or KPIs for visibility by management To communicate with others in the system about performance of any given KPI KPI (Measure) Owners and/or Updaters may or may not fulfill other roles within the Scoreboard system. Regardless, KPI updating is a straightforward process for anyone with this responsibility with several ways to update KPIs. For this Touring Test Drive, let s take a look at a typical experience within Scoreboard for someone responsible for updating specific KPIs. Upon logging into the Scoreboard Test Drive system with the link and credentials provided to you, you will see the Home page: The Home Page When a user first logs into Scoreboard, the Home page appears as shown here: The above Home page is thoroughly explained in the Executive/Manager Tour in the first section of this document. From this page, we will explore ways to update the KPIs that you are responsible for updating for Mobileworld. MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

37 We see here that you own 12 KPIs and you are responsible for updating 3 KPIs. If you click on the KPIs I Own option under Your Responsibilities or My KPIs under the Home menu, as shown here, you will see the full listing of those KPIs with indicators of how those KPIs are performing: Click KPIs I Own to see the full listing of KPIs and how they are performing OR click on My KPIs here to display the same listing. The following KPIs listing view will appear and display all of the KPIs you own: MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

38 Scoreboard KPI Owners that are responsible for many KPIs can easily filter them by performance threshold level. Simply click on either the Green, Yellow, Red, or Gray KPIs buttons at the top of the screen to filter the list of KPIs presented. (Note Gray KPIs are those that have not been updated for the given time period.) Click on the Green KPIs button at the top of the screen to filter to just the KPIs that are performing well for the given period. Now that you ve explored your KPIs, let s see how to update the KPIs you are responsible for updating in the Scoreboard system for Mobileworld. Updating KPIs There are 4 ways to update and enter KPI data into Scoreboard: MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

39 You have 2 options to get to a KPI Update screen from the Home page You can update KPIs from within a Scorecard view You can upload and automate the population of KPI data using the Scoreboard Connect utility (this will not be covered in the Touring Test Drive) From the Home page, you can click on either of two options to display the KPIs you need to update: To display your KPIs for updating, clicking either of these two options will display the KPI Updates screen. On the following KPI Updates screen, you have the ability to enter Actual values for your KPIs for the current period, to filter to see only KPIs for specific areas of your organization, and to change time periods to enter Actual values for your KPIs for additional time periods. Click here to filter the KPI list. Click here to change the period. Enter KPI values into these data entry fields for each KPI. MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

40 Once you ve entered your Actual KPI data values, you click on the blue Update KPIs button in the lower-right corner to commit the data to the Scoreboard system. Another place a KPI Updater can update KPIs is from within the scorecard in Scoreboard. Since this Touring Test Drive is not a fully-functional system, you will not be able to click through this next example but it is included for illustrative purposes. From a Scorecard KPI view screen like the one shown below, a KPI Updater can click the Edit button to enter Actual KPI values and/or edit threshold values (if permitted) for the KPI: Clicking this Edit button displays a data entry screen for this KPI. 41 Actual and Threshold values can be entered here. Providing Commentary on Performance (Notes) For a KPI Owner and/or Updater, it is important to be able to add notes and provide commentary about your KPIs. Typically, when KPIs are either failing to meet thresholds or are exceeding organizational expectations, Managers and Executives will want to understand the reasoning behind unexpected results. To provide some explanation regarding your KPI values, Scoreboard allows users to add commentary via notes throughout the system. Within this Touring Test Drive, you can see an example of where and how notes can be added for others to view by exploring this next example. From the Home page, click on KPI Updates and then click on the message bubble as shown in this next illustration: MOBILEWORLD TOURING DRIVER ROADMAP - OCTOBER

42 Clicking this message bubble icon will allow you to leave a note explaining this KPI data value, performance, etc. The following Notes box displays. For this Touring Test Drive, you will see any available notes that exist listed here. For a Full Test Drive, please us at testdrive@spiderstrategies.com and we will set up a Scoreboard environment where you can add your own notes. 43 Why Should My Organization Use Scoreboard? The following listing is a sample of the benefits Scoreboard will offer your organization: Provides visibility of performance so you can take action Scoreboard provides you with multiple views of performance across all levels of the organization via strategic overviews, scorecards, dashboards, reports, briefing books and more. Never be in the dark about performance again and enjoy the flexibility to view performance in a way that makes sense to you! Promotes alignment across your entire organization By rolling Scoreboard out to all employees across the organization, all personnel can see their role and impact in the organization s strategy and success. Initiatives can be put in place to improve performance in certain areas and teams can form around those initiatives to drive improvement. Scoreboard allows everyone in your organization or team to get on the same page. Fosters a culture of accountability When an entire team, department or organization uses Scoreboard, it assigns ownership and accountability to each team member.
