They are incorporated in the Corporate Presenter from DB Systel s BKU system. The template design is highly automated and contains comprehensive libraries with slide layouts, graphics and layout elements in DB design. Many of your proposals for improvements and optimization were incorporated in the current edition of the Corporate Presenter. They all now lead to an extended scope of design options. The improvements allow for more compact, yet striking, structured and above all more emotional presentations. In addition to the Light Version, the Full Version contains not only the extended slide and elements library (with logos, graphics, symbols), but also additional functionalities including automated production of information graphics, an archive system and the automated corporate design check. 2 The new Corporate Presenter: The Corporate Presenter provides new templates with extended design possibilities for the layout of cover and content pages. Under the tab Templates (1) you will find a comprehensive slides library with many ready-made information graphics and tables that can be extended by your own individual templates. The tab Media (2) provides direct access to the extensive image database of the DB Mediathek. You can use it after successful registration. DB employees can use journalistic and editorial images in their presentations free of charge. Yellow notice fields (3) in the template slides offer assistance and show details on how to use the Corporate Presenter. Please ensure you choose the correct company name. The templates for your presentation are then automatically provided and contain the right brand identification through DB brand logo (4) and division color (5). 4 New templates: Cover pages Six layout templates are available for the design of cover pages. They allow for a flexible distribution of space and for larger and above all more emotional images (1). Additional logos (2) can be placed in the footer. Color panes (3) in the division s identification color and the brand logo are used for sender identification. Presentations of the DB Group and internal presentations can be designed without identification color (4). Sender details (5) are placed at the bottom left of the page (this replaces the previously used list text with overline.) Page 4
5 Content pages The design scope for content pages has been extended and brings more variety to the layout templates. Application Examples The DB corner element has been omitted on content pages in favor of a more generous and clean layout. Pages contain a gray background (1) as standard. Thus, contents can be better structured and visually emphasized. Images may be used full format (2), e. g. on chapter titles. In this case the logo is omitted. On chapter titles, text fields (3) with a semi transparent or colored background can be placed freely. You will find examples for content pages with diagrams and tables under the adjoining link. 6 Sender identification through brand and color On cover pages, color panes in the division color are used for sender identification, just as they are in print media. Presentation formats 4:3 and 16:9 Standard format for DB PowerPoint presentations is 27.5 x cm. This aspect ratio guarantees an almost full format printout on DIN A4 paper and is applicable for screen presentations with a 4:3 format. Alternatively, presentations can be created in 16:9 format to guarantee an optimum use of the wide screen format. However, this is only useful for projectors or flat screens supporting this format. In this case the layout must then be optimized for the 16:9 aspect ratio in order to prevent distorted images. For this format, templates are offered which are not linked to the functionalities of the corporate presenter. Colors For a transitional period, the Corporate Presenter uses the RGB color definitions of 2015, to guarantee a maximum compatibility with existing PPT presentations. In the course of a future update, the colors will be adapted to the current standard of the corporate colors. 7 Functionalities and technical notes Availability User manual The DB Corporate Presenter is available for all BKU-terminals (except Ready-toClients). The system requires Office 2003 and is not available for Office 97. The DB Corporate Presenter user manual (only in German) is a comprehensive documentation of all functionalities. Included are hints that help you to understand how to use PowerPoint. Please note: This link can only be reached by BKU-terminals! Note on printing PPT slides with shadows To preserve shadows, print documents with high quality. Please do the following: Choose: File > Print > Full format slide and tick high quality in the print dialog (underneath or next to scale to fit paper.) Creating PPT presentations Various input screens help you to choose the required template. Search criteria may be details about company, speaker, presentation venue and so on. Slides, diagrams, maps, pictographs and images specifically sorted by topics and target groups are available. The DB Corporate Presenter can even verify if your presentation follows the corporate design specifications (full version only) every slide is checked for the correct colors, fonts, dimensions, et cetera. Standardized presentation templates guarantee a homogeneous visual appearance of PowerPoint presentations. 8 Functionalities The following functionalities are an integral part of the Corporate Presenter: Better user friendliness Simplified procedure: access all functionalities via a toolbar and text interfaces. No further applications are necessary. Quick access to content: use the insert interface to load prepared standard slides of the relevant company, example slides, diagrams, text modules, images and so on. One mouse click, and the content is loaded into your presentation. Save presentations: the pre-defined structure of your personal archive helps you to maintain a comprehensible data storage. Create handouts: the handout-generator creates printouts professionally. Templates for hassle-free creation of CD-ROM labels (cover, back and insert.) Less use of servers and memory Optimize and structure content: use optimized images and multimedia files from the content-pool to receive a data compression of up to 75%. Minimize file size: the compression function in the Corporate Presenter reduces images and linked content to an optimal file size. The reduction of the PPT size may be up to 90%. The Corporate Presenter offers a wide range of presentation templates (screen content manager of the full version.) Corporate design consistency Content according to DB Group CD: templates with text, suggestions for headlines, organization charts, diagrams, tables and a library with graphical elements (e.g. maps, logos, icons) are available for a group-wide consistent communication and visual appearance. Design: use the insert interface to integrate the specified colors into your presentation. The available layout grid in the templates helps to structure the content. Corporate Design Check: let the DB Corporate Presenter verify if your presentation follows the corporate design specifications every slide is checked for the correct colors, fonts, and dimensions. The design-check ensures that PowerPoint presentations follow the corporate design guidelines and makes corrections where applicable. Page 8
