Installing Easy Cart To install Easy Cart, you have to download EasyCart.zip using the download link provided during the purchase and then unzip this file and upload the files from it (using your preferred ftp program) to the website or folder in which you wish to make it run. Since Easy Cart is not using a relational database like MySQL or similar, the installation is as easy as copying or uploading the files to your preferred folder, so as soon as you copy or upload the files, you'll have the website and administration panel attached to it up and running. If you upload the files on for example on the administration panel will be available on: and the default username and password will be - username: administrator password: abc123 After you log in with them, you can then choose the functionality in the administration panel and Settings page in it to change the password or administrator user name with different ones and use the other features in the administration panel to add your products, manage the settings etc. Please note that we also offer a free installation service on your preferred server or hosting package - to request your free installation, you may simply contact us by , phone or our contact form at 2. Overview of the administration panel The administration panel coming with the script can be used to add and manage the products, check the orders made on the easy cart store, set the product categories, edit the different settings etc. It has a main menu to the left allowing to navigate through the different admin panel pages. 3 You'll find following main pages in the Easy Cart administration panel and main menu: Dashboard (showing links to other pages, quick statistics information and overview of the new orders and last added products) Add New Product (allowing to add new products to the store) Products (on which the administrator can see the previously added products or modify them) Orders (showing information about the orders placed on the site) Settings (allowing to manage the basic website settings like time zone, currency and others) Template (the page allows to modify the site logo, welcome texts, default met tags and others) Categories (on this page the administrator can see or edit the current product categories) 3. Configuring the website To configure the website and manage the website settings, you need to go to the Settings page in the administration panel. Page 3 of 10

4 You may find below the list of settings available on the page and their description: Accent Color With this setting you can change the main website color (for example you can make the main color to be red or yellow or choose a color matching your logo). You can set the color either by entering your own custom color code or by using the color selector, which will show up when clicking in the field. Currency Symbol This is the currency symbol you would like to show near the price, for example the $ symbol for the USD (or any other symbol you may prefer like the one for the Euro or British Pound etc.) Page 4 of 10

5 Currency Code The 3 letters currency code, which is used when for example redirecting the customer to PayPal to make his payment (in order to pass the correct currency to PayPal for processing). In order to use the SEO links, the system will require the presence of the mod_rewrite module (for Linux / Apache or isapi_rewrite for Windows / IIS). If this module is not available on your server or hosting package, you could deactivate this feature by setting it to NO. Use Captcha Images The usage of the captcha images is enabled by default, but if you would like to disable it (for example if the PHP graphics library - GD isn't enabled on your server), you could change the value of this setting to NO. 6 Date Format By entering a valid PHP date format string, you can change the format of the date displayed on the website. Full information on the supported date format strings can be found on: Here are a few examples: "F j, Y, g:i a" // March 10, 2001, 5:16 pm "m.d.y" // "j, n, Y" // 10, 3, 2001 "H:i:s" // 17:16:18 Time Zone With this setting you can change the default time zone on the website. The time zone coming by default for most of the downloads is Europe/ London. List of the supported time zones can be found on: Some examples of supported time zones are: America/Buenos_Aires America/Chicago America/Los_Angeles America/Mexico_City America/New_York Asia/Singapore Asia/Tokyo Europe/Berlin Europe/Madrid Europe/Moscow Europe/Zurich Font Name and Font Size You can customize with these settings the main font and font size used on the site On the Settings page (at the bottom) you can also change the administrator's user name and password used to access the administration panel. To change the password, you need to enter the old password and then the new password and confirm the new password and click on the button Save at the bottom of the page to save the changes (after you change successfully the password, you'll be asked to log in again using the new user name or password you selected). 4. Template settings The page allows to change some website layout and template settings like for example the logo you can either choose to upload the logo as an image or set it as text. Page 6 of 10

7 With the Home Page Intro Title and Home Page Intro Text settings, you can enter welcome texts, which the users will see when opening the front site and home page in it. So you can use this text to provide more details about the store and products offered in it or to announce special campaigns and offers. With the About / Footer Text setting, you can enter a text, which will be displayed in the website's footer (usually used to enter more information about the company or store). The Default Meta Title, Default Meta Description and Default Meta Keywords settings can be used to enter a custom meta title, meta description and meta keywords for the store's main page (in order to improve the SEO and appearance in search engines). Please note that for the product or categories pages, the meta tags like title, meta description etc. are created automatically based on the product name and product description, which were previously entered. With the Facebook Page URL, Google+ Page URL, Twitter Page URL and Instagram Page URL settings, you can enter the urls of your pages on social media (for example ) and this will create the corresponding links and icons in the website's footer. 5. Setting the product categories You can change the product categories from the Categories page in the administration panel by entering them as a list. Page 7 of 10

8 1. Category 1 2. Category 2 3. Category 3 You have to set the categories with leading numbers (used for category ids) like - 1. Some Category 5. Another Category 3. One more category and it's not required that these numbers are successive. You can also insert new ones between them in the future if you need to add more categories on the site. 6. Adding new products and products management You can use the Add New Product page and form on it to add the new products on the site. Page 8 of 10

9 In the form with the first field you can select the product category (from the ones prevviously defined in Categories) and then enter the product name, enter and format the product description, price and images. For the product images, you can select and upload multiple files at once or also drag and drop them to the designated area. When you select multiple images, you'll see a progress bar for every image upload and also an image preview when the upload is finished successfully. To edit the details of an existing product, you have to go to the Products page in the admin panel and Page 9 of 10

10 there click on the Edit icon for the product you wish to modify. This will open the products edit form allowing you to make the necessary changes and click on Save when ready to save them. Page 10 of 10
