3 HOME PAGE New Design OBJECTIVE When you log onto the new iconnect page it will be noticeably different to the current iconnect site. Visually, the home page has gone through a complete redesign and now mirrors the external website to be consistent with our corporate branding. More importantly, however, the information on iconnect has been reorganized with the goal of: Reducing document maintenance and storage Improving the file structure and search capabilities Ensuring documents utilized are current versions Grouping information to reduce the number of clicks users are required to do to get to their information. The information on the following pages is designed to introduce you to the new layout and site features, and hopefully make the transition to the new iconnect website a lot easier. We will begin with the screen elements of the new home page. Screen Element 1 The Search, Find it Fast, Code of Conduct & Ethics, and Compliance line functions have now moved to the top navigation bar. Clicking the NorthWestern energy logo will redirect you to the external website. If you have navigated to another iconnect page, clicking the word iconnect will return you to the iconnect home page. Clicking on the blue Login button will display your picture and name. This will also be used to verify Manager s Toolbox credentials. NorthWestern Energy iconnect Upgrade Document 3

4 Screen Element The site navigation menu tabs have been reduced from 7 to 5. The new tabs contain the following information: 1. COMPANY Coporate Governance, Goals, Vision, Mission, Stock Purchase Plans, Community, Graphic Standards, News Library and Organizational Chart INFO WAREHOUSE This area represents one of the most significant changes on the new site. All forms, policies, manuals and department specific documents are now housed under info warehouse. We have utilized SharePoint functionality to store this information, in order to comply with data retention policies and reduce the number of versions and places in which the same documents are stored. We have also elected to go this route to minimize the maintenance done by SME s in maintaining broken links on the website. 3. TRAINING ilearn, Job Aids Library and Employee Development 4. SAFETY All safety related material and information 5. EMPLOYEE PORTAL Employee Self-Service where employees can complete timesheets and access pay and benefit information, along with other helpful employee links such as job postings and wellness. The home page will display the latest featured article. Using the arrows on the image, you may also view one of the other 5 current top featured articles. The weather app does require that you enter your zip code the first time you visit the page, but will save your entry for subsequent visits, unless you change it. The Safety Dashboard has been upgraded and is now more prominant on the iconnect home page. 3 NorthWestern Energy iconnect Upgrade Document 4

5 Screen Element All FYI s, In the News (ITN), press releases and the Scoop will now be displayed under the Latest News section. If you would like to view previous featured articles and news releases, click the View All link in this heading. New to the page is the Employee Blog which is updated and maintained by Corporate Communications. The Employee Directory is still available. Also new, you will now be able to see NorthWestern Energy Stock information instead of having to follow a link to the New York Stock Exchange. 4 A link to the Northwestern Energy Outage Map has been addeded to the homepage. The outage map is one of the top 5 pages viewed by the external customer and continues to be a valued source of information for users. We continue to make use of Polls, and have added another new section for Community Events, which will be managed by Corporate Communications. 5 6 Links for Classified ads, Company Store, and Careers have now been added to the page footer section. 6 Site Navigation Menu Menu LANDING PAGE When you click on a Site Navigation Menu tab, you will be directed to that landing page. The menu landing page will provide you with a more detailed view of the content contained within the menu option, allowing you to more quickly navigate to what you need. You can access the landing page by click on the red menu tab: The content provided on the Company landing page has been reduced significantly and outdated information has been removed. Links have been updated and all documents have been added to SharePoint. COMPANY NorthWestern Energy iconnect Upgrade Document 6

7 Information Warehouse has undergone the most significant changes and now contains all departments documents, forms, policies, and procedures that were on the original iconnect. The majority of these documents are now stored and shared through SharePoint libraries. When you click on the relevant area you will be redirected to a SharePoint site. INFORMATION WAREHOUSE Below is an example of what the SharePoint page will look like once you navigate away from the iconnect page. Click the arrow to expand the document category. Read access is provided to these libraries. If you find you do not have access to a particular library to which you feel you should have access, please submit a ticket to BT Tech Support so that your access request can be processed. 8 Menu The Training landing page provides links to the all the same information as before, with the exception of Safety videos which can now be found under the Safety menu. 9 Menu The Pay and Benefits menu has been replaced with the Employee Portal. Content has been arranged with a link to Employee Self-Service and Quick Links to frequently used sites like performance management, retirement planning, careers etc. Wellness has also been included as a quick link under Employee Portal. 10 DOCUMENT OWNERS Documents, Forms, Policies and Procedures are now being stored within SharePoint. This new organization assists in ensuring that documents are the most current version by allowing departments to more easily maintain and update their documents, and allows all department documents to remain in a common shared directory. Below you will find a list of site owners, page owners and subject matter experts that can update documents, and address specific questions on the information provided, as well as, provide access to SharePoint environments. 11 To submit a help ticket, the business or employee generates an with the following information: 1. Address the to - Help 2. In the subject line and the body of the type - Assigned: BT Web; 3. In the body of the , enter an Expected Completion Date: xx/xx/xxxx, 4. In the body of the Describe the issue with the steps to recreate (if there is a problem), or copy the URL of the page/library to which you need access. 5. Attach any screen shots or supporting documentation that will assist in researching the issue. 6. Press Send. SUBMITTING A HELP TICKET When submitting the it is recommended that you include as much information as possible to assist the analyst research the issue and determine the best possible solution to resolve the problem in a timely manner. BT Tech Support will receive the and an incident (ticket) is automatically created in ChangeGear. BT Tech Support will assign this incident to the BT Web support team, based on the Assigned Field in the body of the . This will generate an to the web support team to notify them that a request for help has been submitted.
