17 To setup claim your Google Places listing you first need to find out if Google already has a listing for your practice. Begin by doing a search for your practice on the Google Maps search. If your practice is listed, click the more info link underneath your name/practice name. 17
18 When you are at your Google Places profile page, click the link labeled business owner? towards the top right of the listing. If the listing shows Owner verified listing then you (or someone within your office) has already claimed and verified the listing (you can then skip ahead). 18
19 If you don t already have a Google account, you ll be asked to set one up. 19

22 Once you have completed the setup screens, you be asked to confirm your account. Google sends an to the address you provided during the setup process. The contains a link that you must click in order to validate your account. 22

45 Notice the blue text under the photo that says encino dentist that actually is a hyperlink that goes to the doctor s website. There are also several tags to the bottom right about the photo shown (they have used keywords like encino cosmetic dentist, Woodland Hills teeth whitening, etc.). 45
46 The doctor also appears on a Google search as #2 listing for encino cosmetic dentist (out of over 200,000 pages found; see right below search box). Did Flickr help this doctor s ranking??? 46
47 Let s try another search. This time for orange county cosmetic dentist. 47

49 I clicked one of the photos to see the details and a larger photo. Notice the tags in the bottom right corner. 49
50 A google search for orange county cosmetic dentist shows the doctor as #1 in the organic listings (see below search box that Google found 974,000 pages that included the words orange county cosmetic dentist, but ranked this doctor #1). Again, did Flickr help this doctor s SEO ranking??? 50
51 Let s try things again only this time in another state. I searched Flickr for new york dental implants. 51
52 Again, only one single page of photos was found when I searched new york dental implants. I then clicked on one of the photos. 52
53 Notice the page has a link to the doctor s website, and check out the description under the photo that has some important keywords like new york dental implants. 53
54 The doctor shows up on the first page of Google for a search on new york dental implants. Not bad out of 3,340,000 pages found (see number below search box). Flickr may not be a magic bullet (nothing is in SEO), but every little bit helps, and I see a pattern here of Flickr possibly helping SEO rankings. 54
55 It s obvious most doctors are not taking advantage of Flickr in their SEO strategy. Here I searched anaheim cosmetic dentist and nothing came up. 55
