2 LARGER MAIN VISUALISATION 2 Larger Main Visualisation The new interface not only features more space for the main data visualisation, but also displays global and regional context next to it. The old main data visualisation space The new main data visualisation space Selection-specific Details Details for your specified geography appear beneath the main visualisation and offer both the option to explore the selection in further detail or to move into Passport to view relevant statistics or analysis.

3 ADDITIONAL VISUALISATION FORM: BAR CHART 3 Bar Chart The choropleth map compares locations of geographies that fall within certain bins, or ranges, of data. But the bar chart allows you to directly compare individual geographies.

4 ADDITIONAL VISUALISATION FORM: SCATTER PLOT 4 Scatter Plot Neither the choropleth map nor the bar chart allows you to compare two variables at the same time. With the scatter plot you can compare size, in either absolute or per capita terms, to historical growth. In the Countries and Consumers version (above), you can compare size, again in either absolute or per capita terms, to growth rates, either historical or forecast.

5 DIVING EVEN DEEPER WITH THE SMALL VIS 5 Small Vis The larger main visualisation space allows you to compare sections broadly, i.e. across multiple geographies, whereas the Small Vis allows you to dive further into the details of your selection. For the Industry Overview Dashboards, each main view, e.g. category view, features a distinct Small Vis designed to best reflect the data. Similarly the Packaging and the Countries and Consumers dashboards each feature a single Small Vis that fits their own unique data sets. Clockwise from top: Category View, Channel View, Company View

7 CHANGE CATEGORY GEOGRAPHY SELECTION 7 Change Category You can select your category via the familiar tree, or you can search for it by name in the text field. Packaging has a slightly different search process. First choose your category and then choose your packaging type. Change Geography You can select your geography via an alphabetical list of available geographies, via the familiar tree of available geographies, or you can search for it by name in the text field.

8 MODIFY YOUR VIEW 8 Change Currency Highlight Countries Most useful for alternate main visualisation types, this pushes into the visual background all those geographies not within your selection, bringing forward your selection. For the map view only, highlight countries outlines only geographic regions, not economic ones. Change Metric You switch between the quick stat variables displayed across the bottom via this dropdown control. Change Visualisation Type The dashboard now features alternative main visualisation types alongside the classic Map View: Scatter Plot and Bar Chart. This is where you can change the view type. Map Zooming These controls allow you to increase or decrease the size of the map. Click, drag, then release to move a zoomed-in map within the viewable map area.

9 DIVING DEEPER 9 Company/Channel View Stats/Analysis Links These buttons take you to the stats view for that item or to related pieces of analysis. For example, the Stats button next to Global Value will take you to a stats view for global figures. Warning Stats/Analysis Links Neither the Stats link nor the Analysis link will open in a new window. If you click these links, you will lose your place in the dashboard since the dashboard view is not saved. Explore in Detail This button will open the new Small Vis. The controls for the Small Vis are detailed on the following page.

10 USING THE SMALL VIS 10 Minimise/Close These two buttons will minimise the Small Vis into an icon on the main screen or close out the Small Vis entirely. Re-open If you have minimised a Small Vis window, it will appear here. You can then click it to re-open that Small Vis at any time. Rank Component When you click on other ranks in these visualisations, the Small Vis for that combination will open on top of the current Small Vis.

11 SHARE YOUR DISCOVERIES 11 Extension Buttons These sets of buttons allow you to print the associated view or export the associated view as a.png image, as a.pdf, or into a PowerPoint.
