3 NEOGOV Salary Survey Tool NEOGOV s salary survey tool is called SalaryStudy and it s used to analyze salary and benefits data in Realtime. It s a FREE and easy to use web-based tool, in which Orange County s classification title and salary data has already been pre-loaded as we re already their customer. For jurisdictions that are not a customer of NEOGOV, they have the ability to sign-up an account and upload their data for FREE so they can compare against other jurisdictions. With this salary survey tool, you can: Compare Salaries & Benefits in Real-time Instantly search and compare salaries to those of other public sector organizations nation-wide. Publish Class Specs on your website Maintain your class specs and automatically publish them on your website. Instant Reports Access instant reports and quick comparison to similar positions and organizations. Export Data to Excel Easily download data in Excel and CSV formats. Save Surveys and Favorites Add favorite agencies to your surveys easily. Save completed surveys. 4 Compare & Analyze Salaries 1) Go to 2) DO NOT click the Sign Up button, as this is for non-clients of NEOGOV 3) Click on the SalaryStudy Live Demo button at the very top of the web page 4) A) Enter your Keyword(s) to search for a class B) Select a State C) Enter an Agency (see additional details below) D) Click the Search button Agency Info For the Agency field, you can enter a partial name of an agency and you ll notice a list will come up with all agencies that contain the partial word that you ve entered. For example, if you type Orange, the following will display in which case you can click on one of the listings. 5) In STEP 2 below, you ll see the search results for all titles containing the keyword(s) you entered in the above step. 5 6) To analyze and compare titles, click and drag a title with your mouse, down to STEP 3 (See below) Drag title to step 3 7) Repeat #6 above, as you ll need 2 or more titles to compare and analyze. Page 5 of 6

Submitted Enhancements to Improve Salary Study Below are enhancements submitted by other users in NEOGOV s Idea Lab * Suggest having ability to view the actual spec in order to accurately compare. Agencies do not use titles consistently so they would want to view duties/mq's etc in order to accurately compare/survey. * Need ability to reset survey with one click -- Start over * Assume there will be more thorough directions as to what each section means & how to utilize * Ability to view more than 10 search results * Shows more pages than exist (example -- shows at least 7 pages found to match but there are no search results after page 3) * Suggest ability to access stored surveys quickly (& then be able to clone, edit, save as - customize) * x shown to right of survey results field to be able to delete line - show column header 'delete' * under survey results need descriptors of what light blue vs dark blue indicate (min/max) * seek midpoint descriptor which is commonly used in public sector range descriptions * ability to show only state, only county, only school in search criteria * drop down for agency selection * ability to ctl select or shift select multiple agencies for comparison * ability to save favorites of agencies for common benchmarking * add sections to survey results box - code entries - summary - graphs * will survey results be public so agencies can compare saved surveys created rather than always creating their own - starting from scratch?
