3 1 Introduction 1.1 EasyGo!ProductCheckPro allows you to check any type of stock, with or without barcodes labels. The properties related to the product that will be showed are customizable for each customer. The operator can easily identify the article in stock. Once identified, the operator can check all the information available for the item, such as price, batch number, and expiration date; or any property that has been customized. Once the product has been identified, a label can be printed from the handheld device by cable, wifi or Bluetooth if available on the device. It s possible to use several label formats, so the user will be able to choose the right label to print if more than one label format is available (for example, location label, price label ) One label format is supplied with the solution as a sample (DPL) but it s possible to supply additional formats to have the specific label required by the customer needs (size, printer model, information showed in the label, logo ). EasyGo!ProductCheckPro needs a master file with all product codes in stock to be checked. It s also recommended to provide an EAN master file and Incident master, to have a more complete and versatile application, but it s not mandatory. EasyGo!ProductCheckPro allows the operator to review any product, introducing an incident (for example, the price is incorrect), or a comment/suggestion (the description is too short). When the checking is finished, the incidents report will be ready to be uploaded, via cradle or WiFi, to the host. If an incident master is provided, you can choose the description of the incident more appropriate and introduce any additional note. But if it is not provided, you can enter any comment or incidence note (free text). Plus, if the host system is accessible from the device over WiFi network, an image of the article can also be displayed. 1.2 Features EasyGo!ProductCheckPro includes the following features: Management of master item file with specific data (custom fields) Definition of data to be showed for each input Display of custom data fields in master item file for each item identified Upload incident reports via cradle or WIFI Verification and management of item data: price, description, or other custom data included in the master item file and even image of the item. Possibility to introduce incidents for each item Possibility to print, from the handheld, by Bluetooth, Wireless LAN, or Serial port a label of the item you choose. Customisable labels: use the standard labels supplied with the application or feed it with your own custom labels. Choose the best label for the item. It s possible to have more than one label type so the user can select the right label to print for a certain item. Page 3 of 19
4 1.3 How it works EasyGo!ProductCheckPro is a simple program to check any information available in the item master file, and, if it s necessary, sends it to a printer. It can be used as a Price-Checker, LabelID-Checker, etc. The information displayed is completely customisable to the end-user s environment. As the operator goes through the site, the data of any item can be quickly retrieved for verification. Enter the item code by barcode scanning or by keyboard input, and the item properties will be displayed (according to the end-user s requirements). EasyGo!ProductCheckPro allows the operator to review any product, introduce an incident (for example, the price is incorrect), or a comment/suggestion (the description might be too short) and send to the printer the information in order to print a new label. When the checking is finished, the incidents report will be ready to be uploaded, via cradle or WiFi, to the host. EasyGo!ProductCheckPro allows to print from the handheld a label directly to a printer, via cable, Bluetooth or WiFi. Once the product is identified, just select the label to print, and you ll be able to print on real time from your handheld device. Page 4 of 19
5 2 Setting the Parameters 2.1 The use of Parameters With the Parameters you can adapt the behaviour of the application to the precise needs/requirements of the end-user. Examples: - What is the maximum length of the SKU code? - Should the product image be displayed? By setting up the parameters correctly, the workflow will be tailored to specific process requirements of the customer. 2.2 How to set-up Parameters To set-up the Parameters, you need the AppSource Studio. AppSource Studio is available for download on the AppSource website. 2.3 Parameter overview Product Information Name Values SKU Minimum Minimum number of characters of the SKU 1-30 Length SKU Length Maximum Show Product Show EAN/UOM Show Property 1 Product Product Property 1 Show Property 2 Product Product Property 2 Show Image Maximum number of characters of the SKU 1-30 Show product description Show EAN and UOM (units of measurement) code If you would see EAN but not UOM, put value Yes, and leaves empty UOM field in the master file. 15 4.3.3 Download: To Mobile Computer (load master files) Download or 3 to retrieve the master files. If the communication mode is set to USB, you will be asked to put the terminal into the cradle first. If the communication mode is set to WiFi, you first need to check that you are in a RF coverage zone. or ENTER to confirm. Initially, the item master file will be fetched from the server. The device will look for a file named PCPItems.dat. Later on, the device will check if an EAN master file and an incident master file are available on the server (files named PCPEAN.dat and PCPIncidents.dat ). If one of them or both files are available, they will be downloaded on the device. Finally, the device will check if printing formats are available on the server (these files should be named PCPPrintFormat1.dat, PCPPrintFormat2.dat and PCPPrintFormat3.dat ). If one, two or all of them are available, they will be downloaded on the device. Please Note! If you have a file named PCPPrintFormat1.dat and another named PCPPrintFormat3.dat, you need to change PCPPrintFormat3.dat to PCPPrintFormat2.dat, because in other case, the device will only download the first ( sequential naming is required) Page 15 of 19
16 4.3.4 Upload: To host (upload processed files) Upload or 4 to send the processed files. Via this process you can send the incidents report processed to the host. If the communication mode is set to USB, put the terminal into the cradle. If the communication mode is set to WiFi, check that you are in a RF coverage zone or ENTER to confirm. A file with the name pattern PCPReport_DSN_YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.dat will be created. If the process is successful, the incidents report will be deleted from the device. Page 16 of 19
