1 Using Servosity PRO/STD to Restore Your Files This chapter describes different ways files can be restored from the backup server.

2 1.1 Restore backup files directly from the backup server. You can use either the Servosity PRO/STD desktop manager or the online web restorer to restore your backup files from the backup server. Using the Servosity PRO/STD Desktop Manager You can restore your data from the backup server by following the steps below: i. Open the Servosity PRO/STD desktop manager from the System Tray STD by right clicking the icon located in the system tray located near the clock and click [Open]. ii. iii. Select the [Restore] button on the upper left-hand side of the main window of the Servosity PRO/STD desktop manager. Select the backup set that you would like the files to be restored from. Then click the [Next] button at the bottom of the screen.

3 iv. Select the snapshot of the backup files that you would like to be restored from the backup server by using the [Show files as of Job] option. Enter the date range for the backup and choose the appropriate snapshot from the backup(s) listed. v. Use the [Change] button in the bottom section of the window to select the destination where you want the files to be restored to (or simply select the [Original location] option to restore the files to their original path). vi. vii. Select the files that you would like to restore and press the [Start Restore] button to start. The files will be restored automatically. A file will not be downloaded from the backup server again if an identical file exists on local path already.

4 Using the Online Web Interface You can restore your data from Servosity PRO/STD online interface by following the steps below: i. The first step is to go to the Servosity web site ( and log in to your account using the [Login] tab in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

5 ii. Once you have logged in using the interface shown in the above image, click the [File Explorer] tab at the top left-hand side of the page.

6 iii. Select the [Backup Set] that contains the files that you want to restore by clicking on the link(s). i. Once you click on the backup set you wish to restore you can select the snapshot of your backup files that you would like to be restored from the backup server by using the [Show files as of] option. Enter the date range for the backup and choose the appropriate snapshot from the backup listed. ii. If you want to see all the different versions of all files just choose the [Show all files] radio button on the top of the page. iii. Select the files that you would like to restore and press the [Restore] button on the toolbar.

7 iv. A dialog box like the one shown below will appear. a. Select the desired backup set and press the [Next] button. b. Enter the directory to which backup files should be restored to in the [Alternate location] textbox. If an alternate location is needed or you can just accept the default setting and the files will be restored to their original location.

8 c. Next you will need to enter the encrypting key which will be used to decrypt your backup files upon restoring your backup files. d. Press the [Start] button to start restoring. 1.2 Restore backup files from a removable hard disk For more information on this topic please refer to the Seed Load Restore User Guide.

9 1.3 IP addresses Restriction for Online Restore Online file restore operations can be restricted by IP addresses. You can ask Servosity to restrict online file restoration for your backup sets by IP addresses to only allow people from authorized IP addresses to restore files from the backup server. To check online file restore restrictions of any backup set follow these simple instructions. i. Please logon to the Servosity online web interface and check the section of the [Backup Set] -> [Online Restore IP restriction] (shown below). Users are not allowed to update the [Online Restore IP restriction] directly. Please contact Servosity to do the changes for you.
