3 1. Forward Previously, camera manipulation and data storing/searching were possible only on the DVRinstalled computer. This meant that a person must physically sit in front of the specific computer for even minor administration such as checking the current status of the system. This has become a big hassle for those who must overlook many DVR systems. To overcome these difficulties, DiViS Net has been introduced. With DiViS Net, you can now enjoy all the functions of a DiViS system anytime, any remote location by connecting to the main server computer over modem, LAN, or Internet. The functions include checking the system status, searching the stored data, and even changing the user settings and the recording schedule. The ability to be able to perform total control from any place any time, is what DiViS Net makes by introducing Net-work Security Program for the next generation. PAN/TILT/ZOOM/FOCUS remote control PTZ Controls can be attained by manipulating DiViS Net program. Manipulate DiViS User Settings Ability to change settings of DiViS Main from DiViS Net, such as enable / disable of cameras, change recording schedule, and change setting of sensors. 'Notify'(Automatically message alert sent from DiViS) When DiViS main detects motion or sensor trigger, DiViS notifies its event and automatically turns on DiViS Net (when DiViS Net is minimized). Compatible O.S DiViS Net supports Windows 98/ME/2000 /XP. - DiViS CAP, DiViS MPG, DiViS LIVCAP are all supported. 3 DiViS

5 - DVR.com 3. Installation Click 'Setup.exe' and follow the message appears. After installation, following folder will be created in the Start menu. DiViS Net: DiViS Net program Uninstall: DiViS Net remove program 4 DiViS

6 4. Using Net Software 4-1. DiViS Login Setup Run DiViS Net. Then following dialogue box appears, which is asking of ID of DiViS Net. Login: ID /password is for the authorized manager who controls the local network system. Note that login name and password here is for DiViS Net program. It is different login and password than that of DVR main. New: Create the new user(management) who wants to have the new network system. Edit: Change the existing information of registered user. Cancel: Exit without change. Minimized screen: Make the tray icon of this network program. Used for Remote Notify. For the first time, or to add a new user, click New and type the information of user as follows. Login name: ID for a DiViS Net program user. Description: Reference note Password: Password for Login. Confirm P/W: Re-confirm the password Note: This ID is for local manager, which is not ID, necessary to access the DiViS main.normally the authority of former ID shall be higher profile than later ID person. After you input the above information, click OK. Then, Add, Delete and Edit site information screen will be appeared. 5 DiViS

7 4-1-1 Add, Delete and Edit site information New: Input the new information of the newly registered site. Edit: Edit the existing registered information. Delete: Delete the registered information. Close: Exit. Note: The same site name can not be registered twice. Information of the site, which is in connection, can not be edited or deleted. Click New when there is no registered site information. Site name: Type system s name or site name. In the use of IP Server, type the Code No., The code for Server side can be set at system->use IP Server in the DVR-setting. Note: This code is also necessary for Remote notify. Method: Select TCP/IP when you are using LAN, cable modem, ADSL, or Modem in case of using telephone modem. Also, in case of IP Server, select SERVER. IP/Tel #: Type IP address of system or IP address in use of IP Server. Also input Tel. No. in case of modem. User name: Type ID, registered in DiViS main. 6 DiViS

8 Password: Type password, registered in DiViS main Property: Set the port No, which was stored in accordance with Appendix > DVR Management > Detail setting in DVR main/ User s Guide. It is recommended to use the default data stored in DVR program unless it is necessary to use others. Then, you will see the following menu box. If you want to edit or delete the data already stored, click Edit or Delete to change the data. (For adding the name of new site, click New and Type it in lists.) Note: For detail setting to connect with telephone modem, refer to the Chapter 5.1 ~ 5.3 Click close after you input all information and then Configuartion Setting menu will be appeared. 7 DiViS

9 4-1-2 Configuartion Setting Change Login Password: change the password for log-in. Add, Delete and Edit site information: add, edit or delete the registered data. Setup Connecting Mode: select between Single site connection and Multi site connection. Display Configuration: Various configurations can be set up such as number of split screen at initial stage / directory for log file to be stored / switching interval/ caption mode/ and name display. Delete current user: delete the current user. 1 Change Login password Old password: Type the existing password for log-in of the site. New password: Type the new password to be changed. Confirm password: Re-type the new password to be re-confirmed. 2 Add, Delete and Edit site information If you need to revise any information you can edit here. Check New for register new site. And Check Edit for editing the existing data. And check Delete for deleting the existing data. 8 DiViS

10 3 Setup Connecting Mode Single site connect: Check when you access one site of DVR main. - Site name: Select the site name which was registered in Add, Delete and Edit site information. - Connect On Login: Connect on start of the Net program Multiple Site Connect: Check when you access multi-sites with multiple DVR main. If checked, the following screen will be shown, upon clicking OK. - Pos: If checked, the camera will be connected upon sign in. - Site name: Type the site to connect. -- Not Used: Type it if you don t like to connect. - Camera number(s): Choose No. of camera, all, partial -- All: Choose all of camera. -- Partial: Choose when you select the camera partially like POS/ No.7 site, which selected 1,5,7,9 cameras. This displays listed cameras sequentially. 9 DiViS

11 4 Display Configuartion Initial View: You can select the number of channels on the screen at the initial view, among 1, 4, 6, 9, 10, 16 channels. Switching: time interval in second for sequential change of camera image. Data Location: Location for DVR Net to record currently monitoring data. Log File: the location and the file name to store the event log contents. On-screen Display: it selects the subject name to be shown on screen among Position Number, Site Name, Camera Number/Name. Display Name: It give a selection of how to indicate the information about images. - Always: All channels informaton are shown on the image skin at all times. - On mouse-over: The information are shown only for the channel that mouse is pointing. Use IP Server: Check to register the system with Net software to the IP SEVER. - Code: Type the Code which was registered at IP/Num(Code) of Remote notification of events at Network / System / DVR configuration of Settings in DVR main. - Server: Type the IP address of IP Server, where IP server program was installed. - Notify interval: Time interval to send updated information to the IP Server Note: 1. Code no. can contain any alphabetic and numeric letter. Also it is case sensitive within 10 digits. 2. Do not confuse Code of Use IP Server and Code of IP/Num (Code) of Remote notification of events in Network / System / DVR configuration of Settings in DVR main.. 10 DiViS

12 5 Delete Current User From this menu, you can delete the registered users in DVR net. Note : Prior to deleting of the present user, you must memorize all of site information registered and created on DVR net by the use of that user name. Otherwise you might lose all information which were stored in the user s profile. 11 DiViS

13 4.2 Accessing DiViS Net Type login and password and click LOGIN. : Minimize DiViS Net software in the system tray. Click at right bottom corner will bring the full window. Date/Time: It is indicating the time and date of the location of DVR net. Login name: ID of manager for the network system control. Event Information: It is the place to indicate any of event notification from connected site(s). To receive notification, Remote notification of events must be checked on DVR main. Transfer Status: This is indicating the connecting speed as bench mark only. : Login to DiViS Net. : Logout. 12 DiViS

14 Press CAMERA to control the PTZ. : You can control the PTZ cameras from DiViS net. The arrow buttons will move the camera in the direction of the arrow, and the ZOOM, FOCUS buttons will manipulate the camera accordingly. However, only user with permission can control the PTZ setting. The number in the middle circle indicates the camera number being controlled, and the push of top or bottom arrow button makes the selection of the camera. : When the PTZ camera supports preset function and tour, this control is available at DiViS Net. However, settings of preset and tour must be made at DiViS main. And No. of available preset points are depending on the camera s feature. Press IMAGE to show image control. : Simply select the camera number, and adjust the image quality such as Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and Hue by pushing the arrow buttons. Press COMPRESSION RATE to adjust transmition speed. : Click HIGH SPEED to increase the data transfer rate. It will decrease the image quality. Click LOW SPEED to get the opposite. Default value is 0 13 DiViS

15 : Click this tab to change setting of Net software (Refer to 4-1-2) : Click to save images, which are currently monitored on Net software : Local Search Playback recorded data in the DiViS Net system. (Data must be saved in remote search first, in order to perform local search) : Remote Search Playback recorded data from the connected site through network. : Setting - Change the settings of connected site s DVR-Main through DiViS Net. : Change display mode to 1, 4, 6, 9, 10, 16, or 36 screen. : Display next set of view. : Enlarge the screen. : move the mouse pointer to one of the channel to obtain channel information, such as IP address, camera No., connection status. If clicked, the channel may be connected and/or disconnected. Pink color indicates connected channel(s), and gray color for disconnected channel. : To control voice communications between DiViS net and DiViS main. For this function, "Sound Recording" of Settings in DiViS main must be checked. The functions of four taps are Send Voice / Receive sound / Send and receive voice / cancel, from the left tap. : With these buttons, you can directly activate the relays out in DiViS net : Click this to exit from DiViS Net. 14 DiViS

16 4.3 Local Search : By manipulating this search, you can search the data recorded in DiViS Net. Clicking this button leads you to search the locally stored data. Saved while viewing Data recorded while viewing at DiViS net. Data is saved using Save button in the main interface of DiViS Net. Saved while searching Data recorded at DiViS net while you were playing back the data in Remote Search From above picture, indicates the locally recorded date. The next section, which is listing 201, 202, etc. at above picture, shows registered site names. Note: Prior to find saved files and DVR system, data must have been saved in the DiViS net. To select the date for search, click the desired date on the calendar. 15 DiViS

17 : Change between search tools and image control tools. : Buttons in upper line take the search point to end of reverse (left directional arrow), and to the end of forward (right directional arrow). Buttons in middle line activate the normal playing back in forward and reverse but the speed can be adjusted by controlling ( - ),( + ) tap on the top. The buttons in lower line give the playback in one by one frame forwards or reverse. : Image Tools allow the user to adjust image properties to enhance the image quality. Adjustments are not effecting to the original image recorded. Click on Cancel to go back to the original image. : These taps give the enlarged screen by (+) or return to small screen by ( -). : On this picture, the camera number is shown vertically on the right and hour on bottom horizontally, and minute on top horizontally. So, you can take the searching point by clicking the wanting point in minute line (shown in red), considering camera no and hour. : In above picture, selection of camera can be done by clicking these buttons, scrolling camera group as 4 camera in a group, namely 1~4, 5~8, 9~12, 13~16 : Save current image as an image file. : Print the current image. : Change to other site. : Save current video data as an avi file. : Exit. 16 DiViS

18 4.4 Remote Search Search data of DiViS system from remote site. : Click the remote search button to start. The following window will show up with the status of registered site list will be shown. Select the site to search, and click OK to start search. Remote Search usage is the same as 4.3 Local Search except AVI Saving is replaced with Record. : Save the images being transferred as.dat file. The data saved by Record can be searched by Local Search 4.5 Remote Setup From DiViS net, you can access the configuration of DiViS Main from registered site. On the above popup screen, select the site and click OK Note: For further setting guide, please refer to 3.Configuration of Installation and User s Guide for DiViS Main. 17 DiViS

19 5. Appendix 5.1 Installation of Dial-Up Server (Window98) In order to connect to DiViS Main by a modem, a Dial-Up Server must be installed on the DiViS Main. And both the DiViS Main and DiViS Net must be equipped with a modem. To connect with an IP address, both systems must have equipped with IP address. How to install Dial up Server: Go to "Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs-Windows Setup" and choose "Dial-Up Server" from the "Communications" column and click OK. Then, go to the bottom of the screen and click Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications > Dial-Up Networking". Now, select "Dial-Up Server", check Allow caller access and click Server type. Select "PPP: Internet, Windows NT Server, Windows 98" and Click OK to end the installation and settings. If you have successfully installed, icon will appear on the system tray. The system is now accessible from DiViS Net with a telephone number. 18 DiViS

20 5.2 Installation of Dial-Up Server (Window2000/XP) OS : Windows XP Click Start > Setup > Control pad > Network Connection. Then you can see follow screen.. Click Create a new connection. Click Next. Select Set up an advanced connection, and Click Next. 19 DiViS

21 Check Accept incoming connection and Click Next. Go to the next page, and follow the instruction from OS: Windows 2000/XP to finish the configuration. OS : Windows 2000 Click Start > Setup > Control pad > Network and Dialup Connection and then you can see follow screen. Click on Make new connection. Click Next.. 20 DiViS

22 Select Accept incoming connections and click Next. Then proceed to the next section to finish configuration. OS : Windows 2000/XP The following instruction is based on the 3 Com brand modem. Selecting the proper modem from device list, and click Next Select Do not allow virtual private connections, and click Next. 21 DiViS

23 Click Add to add a new user. The user must be created to allow connection to the DiViS Main. Fill out the user information and click OK. This information is referred as RAS User and RAS Password. Note: The Allowed User means one of RAS User who wants to access the Dial-Up server from Dial- Up Client. Under Windows98, password should not be created. However, in case of windows 2000/XP, the password setup is required. After a user created, make sure to check the user created, and click Next. 22 DiViS

24 Select Internet Protocol TCP/IP and click Properties. Check Allow callers to access my local area network. In TCP/IP address assignment, check Specify TCP/IP addresses, and fill out from and to IP address as shown in picture. It is strongly recommended to use as it is shown. Click OK, and click Next at the Networking Components. Specify the connection name and click Finish. Any name may be used for connection name. Upon completion of Network Connection Wizard, the new connection icon will be located in Network Connection for Windows XP or Network and Dialup connection for Windows DiViS

25 5.3 Installation of Dial-Up Clients (Windows 98, 2000/XP) At DiViS Net software, follow the instruction below to make a Dial-Up connection. Click Add, Delete and Edit site Information from Configuration Setting on DiViS Net Software. To create a connection, click New, and fill out information in Site Information, including method, phone No, User name, Password. Then click property, and carefully follow the instructions below. For Windows 98 If the site is running Windows 98, Do not type anything in RAS and RAS Password. For Windows 2000/XP If the site is running Windows 2000/XP, RAS User and RAS password must be entered. Important Reminder 1. If the dial-up server is supported under Windows 98, RAS.User and RAS Password must be blank. 2. If the dial-up server is supported under Windows 2000 / XP, RAS User and RAS Password must be specified. 3. For Windows 2000 /XP, RAS User and RAS Password in this section must be same as the information assigned at the server s Dial-Up connection (refer to chapter 5.2 Installation of Dial-Up server (Windows 2000 / XP)). 24 DiViS

26 5.4 Notification of event happening This feature allows DiViS Net users to receive notification from DVR Main when any event occurs, such as motion and sensor detection. In order to activate this feature, following settings are required at the DVR Main. Open System Setting from the server to configure settings. Under Network section, check Remote Notification of events, and select the communication method in method. In IP/Num (Code) section, enter IP address, phone number, or Code depending on the method selected. Note: 1. The code number shall be same as the code no. which was input in site name in If Modem is selected in the method, incoming connection must be set up on the machine with DiViS Net software. 25 DiViS

27 Next, set up Notify scheduling in Scheduling of Camera Setup. Following is a example of notification schedule setup.. From Color & motion of Camera Setup, check Detective motion Notification. Click on Properties, and check Remote Notify or Use Notify Schedule. Remote Notify sends notification when event occurs regardless of Notify Schedule. Use Notify Schedule uses schedule to notify the DiViS Net. If setup is properly done, the notification takes effects in two ways. One is to display the event massage on Event Information at Net software GUI. This message includes Date, Time and location of the event camera. Second effect is to make the DVR screen popup upon occurrence of event. The DiViS net may be minimized, but must be running in order to receive the notification. The icon will be placed on the system tray when it is minimized. 26 DiViS
