To get familiar with the features of this Live Maps release please follow the step-by-step instructions described in the Getting Started guide. 1.4 Understanding the different components of Savision Live Maps Savision Live Maps has several different installers. Not all of them are needed and they are based on what integrations and various setups you have in your environment. Each has its own set of Software/Hardware requirements Live Maps Core There are 3 primary core components of Live Maps. These 3 parts are generally a must in a normal installation. Installation of these 3 components will be discussed in Chapters 2-4 of this guide. Live Maps Portal This is the Live Maps website application. You will have the ability to see all the dashboards created from the portal itself as well as those created with the Live Maps Authoring Console via a browser. The Live Maps Portal is the first thing installed. It will be the primary application where downloads of the other installs will occur. It also allows for the creation of Summary dashboards. Live Maps Authoring Console A console application that allows a SCOM admin to create Live Maps Services (distributed applications) and Live Maps Dashboards (either a diagram or a list). Live Maps Operations Manager Extensions Adds the ability to see any dashboard created in the Live Maps Authoring Console in the Operations Manager Console Live Maps Mobile Live Maps Mobile app allows a user to receive Push notifications to their mobile device. Users can also check on the health status and alerts for their Live Maps dashboards. There are server different ways to setup Live Maps Mobile. This guide will not cover all of them, but will describe the installation of the following 2 components. For more information on Mobile, please contact support@savison.com. 4

5 Live Maps Mobile Notification Service Pushes out Notifications of state and alert changes to a user s mobile device. Mobile apps Currently supported apps are for ios and Android. 6 SCOM Admin Administrator access to the operation system to install the required software, as well as Admin access to your SCOM Managment Group App Pool User App Pool User Requirement is for a Domain Username and password to run the app pool. This user must also have "db_datareader" access into both your Operations and DW databases. This user will need to have access to SCOM and the "Live Maps Portal Group" if you wish to use Static URLs. Those are the minimum requirements. Generally we recommend this user be a SCOM admin to make sure other items are not restricted like Powershell commands in a Summary Dashboard. Web Server Roles and Features Add the following Roles & Features onto your Windows server: Roles: Web Server (IIS) Common Default Document Directory Browsing HTTP Errors Static Content HTTP Redirection Health and Diagnostics HTTP Logging Performance Static Content Compression Security Request Filtering Windows Authentication Application Development.Net Extensibility 4.5 ASP ASP.NET 4.5 ISAPI Extensions ISAPI Filters Management Tools IIS Management Console Features:.NET Framework 4.5 Features.NET Framework 4.5 ASP.NET 4.5 WCF Services HTTP Activation TCP Port Sharing 6

7 License Key A version 10 License key will be required in the following senarios: Installing Savision Live Maps version 10 for the first time in a SCOM mgmt group. Upgrading from Savision Live Maps version 7 or version 8. You will not need a new license if upgrading from a prior release of 10.x to a newer release of 10.x. Example: upgrading from 10.0 to Where to Install Considerations on where to install are based on your requirements. The Live Maps Portal can be installed on any Windows 2012 R2 or Windows 2016 server with the IIS role. This can include your mgmt server. There is no requirement that it must be installed on a mgmt server. That being said, generally Forms Authentication will work in any install. However Windows Authentication may require additional steps for Kerberos to work. NOTE: Installing a Live Maps Portals in a DMZ is not covered in this install guide. It assumes normal access to the SCOM Mgmt servers and Databases. For instructions on this type of setup please contact support@savison.com 2.3 Live Maps Portal Installation Please read through the install process prior to installation. There are several steps in this process where you will be asked to make a decision. It is helpful to know these questions ahead of time so you can make a thoughtful decision. This is especially true for the portal location and authentication methods. 1. To begin, please right click on the Savision Live Maps version 10.0 setup executable file, and select Run as Administrator This is a recommended step, even if you are logged in as a domain admin. Then click Yes to allow the program to make changes to your computer. 2. Click Next on the Welcome dialog box. 1. The installer will start checking for the Prerequisites, when this is complete, click on Next. If for some reason one of the checks fails, you will be presented a way to copy and paste the contents into a powershell script to install the required prerequisites. 7

8 2. Click on I accept the agreement, then click on Next on the Licence Agrement. 3. Select the install folder path. Check or Uncheck if you want the installer to Create Desktop Shortcut, then click on Next. 8

9 4. Check or Uncheck I agree to participate on the Customer Experience Improvement, then click Next. 5. Type in the FQDN of the SCOM mgmt server you want the Portal to connect to for its operations, then click on Next. 6. At this point Live Maps will connect to the SCOM mgmt server you selected. Once it is connected it will prompt for your version 10 License key. Paste the contents of the license key you were given and then click Next. 9

10 7. Type in a Domain Username and password. This user will be setup as your app pool user. It must have db_datareader access to both the Operations Manager and DW databases. It is also helpful that it has access into SCOM, but that can be setup later. Click on Verify to check the credentials. This will check to make sure the credentials have the necessary access to your SCOM Databases. 8. Once you have verified the user, click Next to continue. 9. Pick Forms or Windows Authentication. NOTE: If this is installed on a SCOM mgmt server, then Windows Authentication will work without any additional problems. However, if this is on a separate IIS web server then you may need to preform additional steps later for Windows Authentication to work. Forms Authentication will work in any scenario. When you have made your choice click on Next. 10

11 10. On the Website type, pick Parent or Child Application. a. If you select the default Parent Site, Live Maps will be installed in a new website running on port To access the portal you will need to navigate to The port the Live Maps Portal is running on can be changed later in the IIS Manager b. If you select Child Application, you will be prompted which website you would like to install Live Maps. To access the portal, you will need to navigate to http(s)://<portal-server>/livemapsunityportal. This is typically the case if you are installing Live Maps on the same server as your Operations Manager web console. 11

12 11. Click Next after you have made your selection. 12. On the Ready to Install dialog, click on Install. At this point the installer will install/upgrade the Savision MPs into your SCOM environment as well as add the Live Maps portal to IIS. 13. Click on Finish to complete the installation. 12

13 2.4 Access to Live Maps Portal Once the install is complete, you can now access the portal. If you created a shortcut during the install, then you can simply start by using it. If not, then open a browser and type in the url. That will simply open up your default browser on that Server and point it to the localhost address for the Live Maps Portal. The URL will be determined by how it was installed. Parent Site Child Application http(s)://<servername>/livemapsunityportal If this was an upgrade, please use the previous URL for access Authentication First run, you must log on with a user with SCOM administrator access. After that, you may log in with any SCOM user(assuming they have rights to the portal). If you selected Windows Authentication during the install, then once you open up the portal it should go directly to the Home Page. There are a couple of exceptions. If you are have a browser window prompt for access, then typically adding the URL to the I.E. trusted sites will take care of this problem. Firefox has a different method for trusted sites. Second, if you selected Windows Authentication and it opens up showing a form to enter your credentials, then kerberos to SCOM has failed at some point. After a few attempts, you should get an error message. If you selected Forms Authentication, then after accessing the portal you will be presented with a form to fill out for access. Windows account can be Domain\Username or Username@domain Password SCOM mgmt server. This should be filed in based on the information previously entered. Once Authenticated, the Home page will display. The Home page in 10.0 is completely customizable. 13

ServiceNow URL - Enter the URL of the ServiceNow instance. ServiceNow Credentials - Enter the User Name and Password of a ServiceNow user account that has enough permissions to create configuration items and relationships. (How to create this user is in section 7.3.1) Services to synchronize - Choose to synchronize all services or select the individual services to be synchronized. Create CI s if none exist - The Live Maps ServiceNow Integration service can create configuration items when they do not exist in ServiceNow. By unchecking this checkbox, it will only relate the configuration items with Business Services that already exist in ServiceNow. Create known CI s only - When this checkbox is checked only the Live Maps components we know of are synchronized to ServiceNow. If this checkbox is unchecked all components are synchronized with ServiceNow and the unknown components will be added as configuration items. Synchronize every - Choose how often the Live Maps ServiceNow service needs to synchronize with the ServiceNow instance. The default is 1440 minutes (every 24 hours). 9. Once the information has been added, click on OK. 26

Once the install has been completed wait a few mins for the service to be synchronized in the ServiceNow instance. After logging into ServiceNow, look up Business Services. In the list you will be able to find Business Services with the same name as your Live Maps Services in SCOM. Check to ensure that each Business Service has the correct configuration items If you ever need to adjust the settings of the integration, please navigate and find the Savision Live Maps ServiceNow Integration Configurator. 7.5 CI Mappings and Relationships To keep track of what object in SCOM is mapped to what configuration item in ServiceNow we store the SCOM ID in the built-in ServiceNow field correlation_id. In some case this conflicts with other solutions that integrate with ServiceNow which also use that same correlation_id field. In the Live Maps 8.9 release we added a new advanced feature that allows the customization of the correlation_id field. With this feature you have to add a custom correlation_id field to every CI class in ServiceNow and then customize the field mappings in the transformation tables. Once that is completed go to the ServiceNow Integration configuration file Savision.LiveMaps.ServiceNow.IntegrationService.exe.config and modify the value in the new setting called 'Correlation_id_fieldName'. This will be used to override the default correlation_id field name. C:\Program Files\Savision\Live Maps for OpsMgr 2012\ServiceNow Integration Set the <value> to your new custom field name. </setting> <setting name="correlation_id_fieldname" serializeas="string"> <value>correlation_id</value> </setting> NOTE: Because this requires the knowledge of inbound web services and transformation mappings in ServiceNow this is an advanced setting and will only work if you know exactly what needs to be done on the ServiceNow side 27

If this checkbox is unchecked all components are synchronized with BMC Remedy and the unknown components will be added as configuration items. Synchronize every - Choose how often the Live Maps BMC Remedy service needs to synchronize. The default is 1440 minutes (every 24 hours). 9. Once the information has been added, click on OK. 10. 32 9.3 Accessing Live Maps BMC Remedy Integration Once the install has been completed wait a few minutes for the services to be synchronized in the BMC Remedy environment. In BMC Remedy Navigate to the Asset Management Console Advanced CI Search. Choose the data set you have synchronized the Live Maps Service with. In Quick Search fill in a part of a service or configuration item name and click Search. Check if you can find the synchronized services and configuration items in the search result. After installation, the settings can be modified by using the Live Maps BMC Remedy Integration Configurator under All Programs > Savision 10. Upgrading to Savision Live Maps 10.x Generally upgrading Live Maps is a simple process of just running the installer over the existing one. There are exceptions to that rule. There is a set order that should be followed in the beginning. It is always recommended to upgrade all the components of Live Maps to the same version number. NOTE: Upgrades are supported for anyone running Live Maps version 7.x straight to version 10.x. There is one exception to anyone that might be on early releases of version 7.x. Prior to version 7.5, the main web component was the Live Maps Web Console. For version 7.5 thru version 8.2 both the Live Maps Web Console and the Live Maps Portal could be used. The Live Maps Web Console will not be a part of version 10. For those users still using the legacy Web Console and not using the Live Maps Portal, they will need to install a new copy of the Live Maps portal and start using it as your primary web interface. If you have any questions about this please contact support@savision.com and we can assist you on an upgrade path License Key requirements If you are upgrading from a prior major release to version 10, then you will need a new license key. Example: upgrading from version 8.9 to version 10.0 will require a new license key. If you are upgrading to a minor release, then you will not need a new license key. Example: upgrading from version 10.0 to Prior to installing please contact Savision for a new license key. You can sales@savision.com or support@savision.com. Please allow for processing time. Updated license keys are only available for those on current Maintenance and Support or Active Subscriptions Backups For most users, backups prior to upgrading are not required. All Dashboards are saved as objects or inside management packs in SCOM. The exception to this rule will be for integrations to your ITSMs. Each one has specific backups that should be done prior to upgrades. This guide will cover them individually in the next section Order of Upgrades For those who have been using Live Maps for a long time, the order in which you should upgrade the software has changed slightly. You should always start with upgrading the Live Maps core components first. After that, you can upgrade the various other parts of Live Maps in any order. 32

33 Upgrading Live Maps core components 1. Run the Live Maps Portal installer first. For the most part it is just a series of Next through the software. There is one exception as it will ask for a License key if one is required. For additional help, please refer to Section 2 in this guide. The installer will do the following: Prompt and install a License key if required. Upgrade your existing Live Maps Portal (version 7.5 or greater) to version 10.x Upgrade the Savision Live Maps management packs to version 10.x Provide an administration section for the upgrade of your other components. Once one of your Live Maps Portals is upgraded, you may upgrade any other portals you have installed in your environment. NOTE: Do not upgrade any Live Maps Portals running in a DMZ. Please contact support@savision.com prior to this upgrade. There are special instructions that will be needed for this upgrade. From this point forward, you will need to log onto the Live Maps Portal to download the software to upgrade the other Live Maps components. 2. Upgrade any Live Maps Authoring Consoles. Download the software from the Live Maps portal administration section. Shut down the Live Maps authoring console. Be sure to check if anyone else has it open on shared servers. If you don t, then a reboot might be required Run the installer. It is mainly a series of Next to upgrade the software. It will uninstall the current version and install the newer version. For guidance on the installer please refer to Section 3 in this guide. 3. Upgrade any Live Maps Operations Manager Extensions. Download the software from the Live Maps Portal administration section. Shut down the Operations Manager Console. Be sure to check if anyone else has it open on shared servers. If you don t, then a reboot might be required. Run the installer. It is mainly a series of Next to upgrade the software. It will uninstall the current version and install the newer version. For additional guidance on the installer, please refer to Section 4 in this guide Upgrading Live Maps Mobile components There are 3 main parts to Live Maps Mobile. The first part is the Live Maps Portal. That should already be upgraded in section Unless of course you are running one in a DMZ, then you will need to contact support@savison.com for assistance with this part of the upgrade. The Live Maps Mobile app doesn t need to be upgraded to support V10. It will continue to work as is. That leaves the Live Maps Mobile Notification Service. On the server that is hosting this service, download the software from the Live Maps Portal administration section. From the Run command type in Services.msc. This will open the Services MMC. Find and stop the Savision Live Maps Mobile Device Notifier service. Run the installer. 33

34 It is mainly a series of Next with one exception. You will be required to enter in a SCOM admin credentials. Click Ok after they have been entered, and finish the install. For additional guidance on the installer, please refer to Section 5 in this guide Upgrading Live Maps Integrations Each integration has its own requirements for upgrading. It is wise to backup certain configurations so they can be replaced after the upgrade when necessary Live Maps ServiceNow Integration To upgrade the Live Maps ServiceNow Integration Service, follow these steps: 1. Logon to the computer that hosts the Live Maps ServiceNow Integration Service. 2. If you made changes to the %ProgramFiles%\Savision\Live Maps for OpsMgr 2012\ServiceNow Integration\MappingXML.xml file make sure you copy it to a safe location. 3. If you don t know the current configuration settings make sure you copy %ProgramFiles%\Savision\Live Maps for OpsMgr 2012\ServiceNow Integration\ Savision.LiveMaps.ServiceNow.IntegrationService.exe.config to a safe location. 4. Run services.msc and stop the Live Maps ServiceNow Integration Service. If the service is not stopped before installing a newer version, a reboot will be required. 5. Log on to the Live Maps Portal and download the software from the administration section. 6. Run the installer. 7. It will be a couple Next, before it will prompt for the Live Maps ServiceNow Integration Settings Fill in the information and click OK (you can look up the settings in the copied configuration file if needed). 8. Finish the install For additional guidance, please refer to Section 7 of this guide Live Maps Service Manager Integration Be sure you have upgraded Live Maps to version 10.x prior to attempting an upgrade to version 10.x. Run the installer as you would any installation. This will upgrade the software, import in the new Live Maps MPs into Service Manager. For additional guidance, please refer to Section 8 of this guide Live Maps BMC Remedy Integration To upgrade the Live Maps BMC Remedy Integration Service, follow these steps. 1. Logon to the computer that hosts the Live Maps BMC Remedy Integration Service. 2. If you made changes to the %ProgramFiles%\Savision\Live Maps for OpsMgr 2012\ BMC Remedy Integration\MappingXML.xml file, make sure you copy it to a safe location. 3. If you don t know the current configuration settings make sure you copy %ProgramFiles%\Savision\Live Maps for OpsMgr 2012\ BMC Remedy Integration\ Savision.LiveMaps.BMC.IntegrationService.exe.config to a safe location. 4. Run services.msc and stop the Live Maps BMC Remedy Integration Service. If the service is not stopped before installing a newer version a reboot will be required. 5. Log on to the Live Maps Portal and download the software from the administration section. 6. Run the installer. 34

35 7. It will be a couple Next, before it will prompt for the Live Maps BMC Remedy CMDB Integration Settings Fill in the information and click OK (you can look up the settings in the copied configuration file if needed). 8. Finish the install For additional guidance, please refer to Section 9 of this guide. 11. Uninstalling Savision Live Maps We understand that there may be several reasons for wanting to uninstall Live Maps. It could be that you want to remove just a single component so it can be moved somewhere else, or it may be that you want to remove it completely for various reasons. Each component can be simply removed through Programs and Features of your windows computer. This will remove the individual componets. You will not loose or remove any dashboards by uninstalling any of the componets. The only way you lose any dashboards is if you go through the steps in section Live Maps Portal Uninstalling it will remove everything, but may leave an empty website and app pool behind. These can be removed via the IIS Manager. This is done with the thought you might be doing a simple uninstall reinstall Complete removal Assuming you have uninstalled all of the individual componets, the last remaining parts to remove are the Savision dashboards and MPs in SCOM. All dashboards are saved in MPs are an object in SCOM. Removing the MPs will remove everything. This part of the article assumes you want to remove all parts of Live Maps and not just individual dashboards. Individual dashboards can be deleted using the Live Maps Portal or Live Maps Authoring Console. WARNING: Make a backup of all your MPs prior to attempting to do this. We are not responsible if you delete something by accicent. It is possible to store Live Maps dashboards in your own unsealed MPs as well as store groups, monitors, etc in Savision unsealed MPs. Once they are deleted, you only have 2 options to get something back. Reimport the required MPs or a full restore of the SCOM databases unless you have backups of the MPs. By default we will store our dashboards in an MP with Savision in the name. In order to remove Live Maps entirely, you will need to manually remove the Management packs in SCOM. Go to the SCOM Console and search for Live. This will generally show you all of the Management packs with Live Maps or LiveMaps in the name. Find the Savision Live Maps Library mp. Right click and select Properties. Now click on the Dependencies tab. Look at bottom section labeled Management Packs that depend on this Management Pack 35

36 All the unsealed Management packs listed here will need to be edited or removed first. Chances are all the ones with Savision in the name will be a majority of your dashboards. Keep in mind that you can save a dashboard in any unsealed managment pack, so they may not have Savision in the name. By edited, that means to remove the MP and manually edit to remove the Live Maps references. This is a rare case as usually you just need to remove the MP. But in the cases where it is an MP of your own and there are other items you want to keep, this will be required. This is one of the reasons we recommend storing dashboards in their own MP. Once the unsealed MPs are removed, you should just have the following left, and can be removed in this order. 1. Live Maps Portal Library 2. Savision Live Maps Entity Health Rollup Library (optional MP) 3. Savision Live Maps Service Discovery 4. Savision Live Maps Service Library 5. Savision Live Maps Library Once that is complete, then Live Maps will be completely removed from your SCOM enviroment Service Manager Integration 1. Uninstall the Live Maps for OpsMgr Service Manager (2012) Integration using Programs and Features. 2. Logon to a computer running the System Center Service Manager Console. 3. Start the System Center Service Manager Console. 4. Go to the Administration pane. 5. Select the Management Packs node. 6. Delete each Savision Live Maps Management Pack in the Management Packs pane. 36
