4 Introduction This document is the release notes for Pulse Secure Mobile Android Release This document contains information about what is included in this software release: supported features, feature changes, unsupported features, known issues, and resolved issues. If the information in the release notes differs from the information found in the documentation set, follow the release notes. New Features in Release The following table describes the major features introduced in this release. Feature Google Firebase Migration Pulse Workspace has deprecated the google GCM for messaging Android device sand integrated Cloud Messaging with Firebase. Workspace Wipe Enhancement Add a capability to allow IT admin to fully wipe a workspace for both ios and Android platforms. VPN On-Demand Enhancement It includes with feature improvement and bug fixes.. IPv6 Support IPv6 configuration and functionality in both gateway and tunnel is supported from this release with PCS version 9.0R2 and later. Support for Android SDK 27 Android SDK 27 support has been added. Session Failover Enhancement In previous release, seamless session failover with multiple urls can be achieved only through EMM, with multiple urls can be entered manually to make use of seamless session failover feature. Android P Support Android P has been validated and supported. VPN Fixed Issues in Release The following table lists the issue resolved in this release. PAND-2909 Pulse App crash observed when tried to launch the APP after installing by Pulse Secure, LLC. All rights reserved 4

5 VPN Known Issues in Release The following table lists the known issues in release. PAND-2917 Tunnel would fall back to SSL mode if PCS gateway resolves to both IPv4 and IPv6 with PCS version older than 9.0R2. IPv6 is not supported on PCS versions older than 9.0R2. PAND-2183 Client certificate received from PWS server might not get installed on OnePlus6 device running on Android O. Device not supported for Android for work. PAND-2705 Location Awareness with On-Demand VPN is not working properly in Android 8.0 devices. PAND-2642 Corporate owned device provisioning does not work on Samsung S7 edge, Nexus and Mi A1 devices. PAND-2183 Web page may take a while to get loaded with FQDN split tunneling enabled intermittently. PAND-1991 VPN service notification would stay on top as long as it is activated for Always-ON VPN. PAND-1971 Always-ON VPN Lockdown is enabled by default, so user might experience data access issue when VPN is not connected. Disable lockdown mode when profile is created by Pulse Secure, LLC. 6 PAND-1620 Pulse VPN connection may FAIL with RC4 and DES encryption protocols on Android OS versions like 7.x, 6.x and 5.x. Change encryption protocol to AES or 3DES on PCS. PAND-1407 PAND-1149 PAND-663 PAND-173 Currently, Android Pulse Secure client is not supported on x86 based Android devices. Manually added certificate authentication may fail on PWS provisioned device when it is upgraded to Android N. Profile should be removed and added again along with certificate. User cannot use VPN mode after submitting PWS provisioning URL in Welcome or Upgrade to workspace screen. On Nexus 5 device, VPN tunnel may not get established when screen overlay is enabled. Disable the Screen Overlay. PWS Fixed Issues in Release There are no issues fixed or resolved by upgrading to this release. Personal Profile Pulse Secure App is not disappeared automatically after workspace created. After the VPN tunnel is closed due to On-demand Idle timeout, the state changed to Monitoring but in UI, it is still showing as Initializing. Sometimes user might not be able to use PWS provisioned apps once provisioning is done. Push Space from PWS console. User is required to manually update the password on the SSID to connect the WIFI supports the EAP-TTLS/PEAP protocols. PWS managed VPN cert authentication fails after client OS upgrade. Re-provisioning required to connect VPN.. Android devices - AFW profile provisioning gets stuck in Profile setup screen with "Canceling..." spinner for certain scenarios. Work profile Apps are not getting installed in the device even though pushed successfully from PWS. System apps are not getting uninstalled if removed from the policy. Android device enrollment to PWS using SAML authentication is failing. Use Public Certificate on the PCS External/Internal port.
