Copyright Product description The FältCom ECII Flex Programmer is a configuration tool for the FältCom Flex emergency lift phone. The FältCom ECII Flex Programmer can be used together with the Flex Programming Cable; art. no for configurations on site or with a regular modem for remote configuration. The FältCom ECII Flex Programmer can also be used for uploading new software or speech files to the FältCom ECII Flex. Manual FältCom ECII Flex Programmer Page 2 of 8

3 4 Installation instruction Unpack the file Flex Programmer vx.x YYYY-MM-DD.zip X.X is the release version and YYYY-MM-DD is the release date of the software. Double-click the file setup.exe and follow the instructions to install the program: Click Next Choose folder were to install the program and for which users the program is available for. 5 5 User guide At the bottom end of the FältCom ECII Flex Programmer form are the control buttons: Button Description Connect Push to connect to the Flex. Read Read all configurations setting in the Flex. Write Write the highlighted settings to the Flex. Write all Write all settings to the Flex; both highlighted and not. Save Save a standard configuration setting to be used later. Load Load an earlier saved configuration setting. Clear Clear all settings in the form. Com port Choose com port where modem or the Flex Programming cable is connected. Modem Fill box if using modem. DTMF Use tone based programming (use when connected to GSM) PIN code Required field for logging into the Flex. The default setting is Phone ID For multiple units on the line when calling with DTMF setting In order to connect to the Flex the PIN code has to be set in the Remote Prg tab. 5.1 Connect to the FältCom Flex Connect with the Flex programmer Connect the Flex programmer to the PC, follow the instructions on the installation guide for the Check what COM port the programmer is installed on. Start the FältCom Flex programmer SW. In the bottom right corner choose the COM port where the programmer is installed (usually a higher number, or try different ports). Make sure the Modem checkbox is NOT checked; indicates to the Programmer SW that the programmer shall be used. Press the P key on the Flex and connect it to the Flex programmer; connect the Flex on the AUX input. The Flex will go into programming mode this is shown by the LEDs flashing on the front. Press Connect on the Flex programmer SW. If the Flex is connected this is indicated by a green dot in the bottom left corner and the Connect button is changed to Disconnect Continue with the section Configuration Connect with a modem Connect and install a modem in accordance to the manufacturers specification. Start the FältCom Flex programmer SW. In the bottom right corner choose the COM port where the modem is installed (usually a low number if there are fixed COM ports on the PC or a higher number if using a USB-to-serial converter, or try different ports). Check the Modem checkbox; indicates to the Programmer SW that the modem shall be used. Fill in the PIN Code at the top of the window. 6 fault number is Press Connect on the Flex programmer SW. A new window appears to enter the telephone number to the Flex. Enter the number and press Dial. Continue with the section Configuration 5.2 Configuration The configuration is divided into two tabs; the first tab includes the most common programming sequences and the second includes the more specialized function. When changing a field the field will turn yellow indicating a change in the setting. These changed settings will then be programmed when pushing the Write button. Only the settings that are marked with yellow will be programmed; all other settings will be ignored by the Fält- Com ECII Flex Programmer. Tip: By using the Read button and reading all configurations before changing the settings you will only have to change the settings that are required. After every Write action the Flex Programmer will read all settings and display the current configuration. All input parameters are explained in the Information box on each tab. 7 Tip: Use the Flex Programmer to configure your Flex before installation. Save your own standard setting as a template; then simply change the Alarm Code for every new Flex you configure. 5.3 Software Use this tab to upgrade the device software version. New software releases are supplied by FältCom. Field Software version Device version Update Software Description Current software version of the device. What type of device is connected. File path to the new software file. Connect to the device you want to update. Type the file path to the new software file or use the browse to add the new software. Verify that the new software is correct for the connected device; check current software and device version against the new software file name. Push the Update button. Note: Update of software via a modem connection may take up to 5 minutes or more and is not available in DMTF mode. 5.4 Speech Use this tab to add or change speech messages. Record a message on your computer using any voice recording software and save the file in wav-format. The message can be maximum 10 seconds long. Field Speech file 1 Speech file 2 Update Software Delete speech file Description Message to be played for passengers in the lift car. Message to be played for the alarm receiver. File path to the new speech file. Fill box if you want to delete the current speech file. Connect to the device you want to update. Type the file path to the speech file or use the browse to add the speech file. Push the Update button. Note: Update of a speech file via a modem connection may take several minutes. 5.5 Settings Use this tab to change settings for the FältCom ECII Flex Programmer.
