1 FPV Tracker works with the Zbig & Pitlab FPV system. The application connects via Bluetooth to OSD or GroundStation. It extends features of the system. It is available on smartphones and tablets with Android. The application allows to: show current position of an airplane on a satellite map, define waypoints for OSD, display traveled route, show your current position and a distance to the airplane, display flight parameters. 2 Communication Communication with the OSD is bidirectional. You can both send waypoints to OSD and receive telemetry form it (airplane position and height). The OSD with a Bluetooth module is inside an airplane so you are limited to Bluetooth range which is usually several meters. Because of that to send waypoints to the OSD your airplane has to be close to you. Communication with the GroundStation is one-way. You receive telemetry (airplane position, height, speed) but you cannot send waypoints. However the GroundStation communicates with the airplane through long-range radio waves so you can receive telemetry from long distances. 2

3 Connecting Bluetooth module to OSD Note: OSD boards v2.1/v2.2 and board v2.3 have different USART socket and different pin order (opposite) To properly configure transmission speed open OSD menu service->uart and set Buddy flight mode and then proper UART speed according to your module setting. Default value for newly purchased Bluetooth module is usually 9600 bps. 3

4 Connecting Bluetooth module to GroundStation To properly configure transmission speed open GroundStation s setting->telemetry page and set UART speed. Default value for newly purchased Bluetooth module is 9600bps. 4

6 Subscription When you connect for the first time with the OSD or GroundStation (by pressing app will ask you to purchase a subscription. The subscription is needed to use the app. ) the The price for the subscription is approx. 5 per 3 months (the price depends on the currency in your country). You have to provide your credit card number in order to buy the subscription. The whole payment process is done by the Google company. The author of this app or any third party won t have information about your credit card. You can use the app for 7 days for free and check if you like it. You have to provide your credit card number as described above but the Google won t charge you for the first 7 days of using the app. At 7 th day the Google will charge your credit card for normal subscription price and will give access to the app for 3 months. At the end of the subscription period (after 3 months) the Google company will charge your credit card for subscription price again and the access to the app will be extended for another 3 months. You can cancel your subscription at any time. To do so go to the FPV Tracker app at the Google Play store and click Cancel button under subscription section. If you cancel your subscription during trial period you won t be charged any money. If you cancel your subscription during normal paid period you will have access to the app till the end of the subscription period you payed for. When you cancel the subscription it won t renew automatically when the subscription period expires. If you cancel the subscription you won t be charged any money in the future. 6

7 Connecting After pressing appears: the app asks to turn on Bluetooth. After that the following window Application automatically starts searching for devices. To connect to a device click on its name. After you connect successfully a message Connected is shown and the icon changes to. Localization To turn on localization press. You will be redirected to the localization menu: After you turn on localization press back button on your device to return back to the app. Note: without localization your location will not be shown. Also instead of the distance to the airplane a sign will be shown. 7

8 Waypoints To add a waypoint click on the map for 1 second. You can add up to 9 waypoints. To move the waypoint click it and hold for 1 second. The waypoint will move upwards a little bit. Don t release your finger and drag the waypoint to a desired place. To edit waypoint parameters click it short. After that a settings window appears: You can edit height at which the airplane will fly or change order of waypoints. You can do this by selecting proper values form drop-down lists. Sending track to OSD To send waypoints from map to OSD press. To clear waypoints in OSD you have to delete all waypoints from the map (click in the menu on the delete waypoints button) and then click. Note: to send waypoints or to clear them you have to be connected to OSD (not to the GroundStation). Last known position of the airplane When you lost your airplane, the last known position of the airplane and also it s direction, speed and height are saved automatically. This parameters remain even after restart of the application. 8

9 Offline usage It is possible to use the map when you are offline. During normal online usage loaded parts of the map are cached automatically. That s why to save the map you just need to focus on desired area and zoom it in order to have a high resolution. If you are going to use satellite maps as well you have to switch map type (press ) and similarly zoom desired area. The map is cached automatically. You never know how big area will be saved. In order to check which area was saved, disconnect from the Internet and then check which parts of the map were saved. You can clear cached data any time. In order to do so find the FPV Tracker app at your device (General settings -> Apps ->Downloaded -> FPV Tracker) and click Clear cache button.
