2 1. Scope This user manual provides step by step procedure how to update the map on the touchscreen navigation device. 2. Preparations 2-1. Prepare an empty USB flash (at least 2GB) Computer with Mango3 pre-installed. (OS on the laptop: WinXP Win7 Win8) 2-3. Internet connection. 1

3 3. First Step - Download new map to USB flash (on the PC) 3-1. Download the latest map from the following website: Click on the download icon. 2

4 3-3. After downloading, there will be a *.rar file Please unzip the downloaded file. After unzipping, please copy all the unzipped folders to the USB flash After copying, the file structure in the root directory of USB flash Folder looks like as the following picture: 3

5 4. Second Step - Install new map (on the car) 4-1. Take the USB flash out of the PC and go back to the car Put the USB flash (map pre-installed) into the navigation device. Click the [Update] icon. 4

6 4-3. Press [Yes] on the left hand side to proceed updates Press [Start] on the bottom left to start map update process When updating the new map, there will be three statuses: Status1. The Map is out-of-date. i. If the map is out-of date, press [Start] button to upgrade the map. 5

7 ii. Press [CLOSE] on the bottom right when map update completes. iii. Remove the USB flash after closing the upgrade process. 6

8 iv. Press [No] to exit the map update process. v. Map update has completed. Status2. The map is already the latest one. The map installed in your car device is already the latest one, you don t have to update the map. Please press [CLOSE] to exit. If you still want to update it again, just press [UPDATE] button. 7

9 Status3. The map is out-of-date and the license is expired. If the license is expired, please press [CLOSE]. Take the USB flash out of the car. Go to the PC to continue the 3 rd Step - Install Mango3 and get license key to purchase the new license on-line. 5. Third Step - Install Mango3 and get license key (on the PC) 5-1. Preparations: Install the update tool - Mango3 on the PC The internet is ready Must finish the 1 st step & 2 nd step (Page2 to 5), then go on this step (3 rd step) Credit Card. (Visa, Master, or JCB) 8

10 5-2. Download the upgrade tool Mango3 from the website: Click [Mango3_Setup.exe] to install the upgrade tool mango3. After installation, there will be a desktop icon of Mango3. 9

11 5-4. Click the icon of Mango3 on the desktop to start the upgrade tool In the welcome page of Mango3, press [Start] to start using the Mango3. 10

12 5-6. Press [Browse] to choose the USB flash s disk. Then, Mango3 will show the Device ID and Model automatically. 11

13 5-7. If you don't have a secret code, click [Buy Online] to buy it Enter your address, then click [Buy Online] again to continue purchase process. System will automatically send you a purchase confirmation letter after clicking Buy Online. 12

14 5-9. Check your if you ve received the purchase confirmation letter from Polstar Technologies Inc. If yes, please click the URL in the to activate the purchasing process Please confirm the purchase contents and click [Confirm]. 13

15 5-11. Enter Credit card number, and then click [SEND]. (We only accept Visa, Master and JCB card.) The web is obtaining authorization now it may take some time. Note: Do not click [Back] or [Refresh] button when processing. 14

16 5-13. After transacting the payment, you ll receive an containing the Secret Code (20 characters). Please check your If you ve received the Secret Code (20 characters), please go back to Mango3 (PC tool). Enter the Secret Code (20 characters) into the Secret Code columns. There are totally 5 columns, enter 4 characters in each column. Then, click [Get Key]. Note: It will take about 3 sec. to get a license key from the internet. Please be patient, do not operate when processing. 15

17 5-15. Get key successfully. Click [Close] to continue the upgrade process. Mango3 will install and license to the USB flash Please click [Close] when finishing. 16

18 6. Fourth Step - Install new license and map (on the car) 6-1. Go back to the car. Put the USB flash (map and license pre-installed) into the navigation device Put the USB flash (map pre-installed) into the navigation device Click the [Update] icon on the bottom right. 17

19 6-4. Press [Yes] on the left hand side to proceed updates Press [Start] on the bottom left to start map update process. 18

20 6-6. Remove the USB Flash after closing the upgrade process Press [No] to exit the map update process The Map and license upgrades have already completed. 19
