4 Release tes for TIBCO Foresight Translator Release TIBCO Foresight Translator converts data from one format to another. We are pleased to offer you our newest version of Translator. Translator is available in two version: Translator Standard Edition and Translator Healthcare Edition. Some information in this document may pertain to Translator Healtcare Edition only and is noted appropriately. We welcome all feedback. Important Information Updated Third-Party Software Requirements Translator requires installation of the following third-party software: Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 (Windows platforms only) Sun Java Development Kit 1.8.x (All platforms) (Required only if using the Java API) Installation program Translator uses the TIBCO universal installer as described in TIB_translator_<n.n>_installation.pdf. Please read this before installing. License files Translator does not require a license file. Related Programs Please contact TIBCO Foresight support or your TIBCO account executive for details. TIBCO Foresight ICD-10 Conversion Adapter Uses Translator or TIBCO Foresight Instream to convert diagnostic and procedure codes between ICD-9 and ICD-10 in HIPAA EDI. 5 Documentation The installation program no longer installs documentation. Translator documentation is available on When Translator is installed, a /Doc directory is provided. You may wish to download your documentation to this directory for ease of access. Demo scripts Look in Translator's Scripts directory. Any new demos will be in blue text in TIB_translator_<n.n>_usersguide.pdf, Appendix F: Translator Demos. TIBCO Foresight Studio Translator users can download and use Foresight Studio, which lets you set up and run workflows and create configuration files for TIBCO Foresight products. 6 New and Changed Features New and changed features are documented in TIB_translator_<n.n>_usersguide.pdf unless otherwise noted. Change Details Additional Platform Support New OS Environment Variable New Command Line Parameter Translator now supports the following platforms: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server versions 7.x Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2. OS environment variable FS_DISABLELOCKCHECKING was added to allow for greater control of lock checking. IMPORTANT: Use of this variable impacts existing system behavior. If you are using locking via the OutputControl rule, review the information found in Updated System Behavior for Segment Locking and Unlocking on page 5. The following translator command line option was added: -l Allows you to specify segment, element, composite, and element repetition delimiters to use in the output EDI file. 7 Updated System Behavior for Segment Locking and Unlocking Changes required for FT-223 impact existing system behavior. Review the following information before using the new OS variable FS_DISABLELOCKCHECKING. Segment locking and unlocking via the Translator OutputControl rule was not being enforced as expected. The Java API was honoring the lock while the Translation tool was not, resulting in different output between the two tools. This has been corrected. As part of this update, OS environment variable FS_DISABLELOCKCHECKING was added to allow for greater control of lock checking. If FS_DISABLELOCKCHECKING=Y, YES, ON, or 1, lock checking is disabled. If FS_DISABLELOCKCHECKING=N, NO, OFF, or 0, lock checking is enabled. (Default) te: Consult your OS documentation for information about how to edit Environment Variables. For example, Windows platforms may use Control Panel > System Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables If you are using locking via the OutputControl rule, review the following steps before deploying Translator Release Run a representative sample of data through the existing maps, with special emphasis on data and maps where lock/unlock and outputbyordinal business rules are used. 2. Upgrade to Translator Release Run the same sample of data through the updated Translator system. 4. Compare the output generated in Steps 1 and 3. If the output is the same, no additional action is required. If the output is different, the correction made to locking behavior in Hotfix3.5.0_HF-001 is exposing issues in your maps. Continue with Step For testing purposes ONLY, set the operating system environment variable to relax the lock: FS_DISABLELOCKCHECKING=Y, YES, ON, or 1 6. Run the same sample of data through the Translator system. 7. If the relaxed lock method produces the expected output, a lock mismatch/syntax error is present in the map. Work to correct the map. TIBCO Foresight recommends using the relaxed lock method as a temporary workaround in the production environment. Once the maps have been corrected and are producing the desired output in the testing environment, deploy the maps to production. TIBCO Foresight Translator Release tes 5

FT-12 (AIX Platforms only) An AIX compiler issue caused Translator to generate incorrect NCPDP output. This has been resolved. FT-30 tes were added to both TIB_translator_3.6.0_relnotes.pdf and TIB_translator_3.6_installation.pdf to indicate that Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 is required by Translator. FT-187 Reserved variables did not always handle missing % symbols as expected. This has been corrected. FT-220 Support for Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 was added. FT-222 The Translator Tool was enhanced to remember the last directory used for input. FT-223 OS environment variable FS_DISABLELOCKCHECKING was added to allow for greater control of lock checking. IMPORTANT: Use of this variable impacts existing system behavior. Before deploying Translator 3.6.0, review the information found in Updated System Behavior for Segment Locking and Unlocking on page 5. Yes - Hotfix 1 FT-224 The ListSearch and ListSearchX rules were not allowing subrules. This has been corrected. Yes - Hotfix 1 FT-226 Translator now allows for variation in separators and terminators in FlatFile-to-EDI mapping. 9 Change Number Details Originally Contained in a Translator Hotfix? FT-232 An issue with two-digit negative values (-1) in PackedDecimals amd SetDecimal rules was resolved. FT-233 (EDIFACT only) Translator was updated to better handle EDIFACT segments with masks in the SEF file.segs section. FT-234 The logging message for Mapping Cancelled was updated to correct a spelling error. FT-235 The logging message for the RunAfterSegment rule was updated to correct a spelling error. FT-237 Translator was updated to better support XML-escaped characters, such as ampersand (&). FT-239 Translator now supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server versions 7.x. Yes - Hotfix 3 FT-241 The Translator Tool now reports when an output file is not created and creates an fslog directory when it is missing. FT-244 (AIX, Solaris, and SPARC platforms only) Translator now supports the ToUppercase and ToLowercase business rules on all platforms. FT-245 The file DEMO_CLAIMSUM_FF.std, used in one of the Translator tutorials, was found to be missing from the Translator /database folder. The file has been restored. FT-246 Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server versions 7.x was added. FT-247 Elements sometimes failed to load when using imported schemas. This has been corrected. FT-250 An issue causing incorrect decimal translation in EDI-to-XML translations was resolved. FT-252 The Tools option on the menu bar was removed, as it had no associated functions. FT-174 (EDIFACT only) An issue involving EDIFACT release characters before delimiters has been resolved. FT-177 Translator's ability to calculate extended ASCII has been updated. FT-183 For XML to EDI translations in X12 data versions 4010 and lower, Translator replaced the default Repeating Separator '*' with a replacement character. Versions 4010 and lower do not use the ISA11 Repeating Separator. This has been corrected. FT-184 An XML to EDI translation issue causing Translator to ignore release characters within element data has been corrected. FT-185 An XML to EDI translation issue causing ending spaces to be trimmed when trimspace value= has been resolved FT-186 An EDI to XML translation issue causing the Repetition Separator for syntax 1, 2, and 3 to be ignored has been resolved FT-195 Translator was updated to better handle input fields containing empty values. Yes - Hotfix 5 FT-196 A problem causing GetGMTDateTime HHMMSSDD to return DD=00 has been resolved. Yes - Hotfix 5 FT-200 A thread issue on Sun Solaris SPARC platforms has been resolved. Yes - Hotfix 6 FT-201 A validation error caused by invalid EDIFACT data was not reported by Instream, causing a problem with Translator. This has been corrected. Yes - Hotfix 6 FT-204 An issue causing business rule on a GE segment to be moved to a GS segment after closing and reopening the Map in has been corrected. FT-212 A note was added to Translator.pdf stating that the UserAPIExit rule must be built by TIBCO Foresight and that users should contact TIBCO Foresight Technical Support for additional information.
