You can also use the printer for consecutive log file printing. The printer can be set up as a network printer or connected locally via USB. 3 Issue Datasheet EN Commissioning! NOTICE The printer may only be configured by qualified persons. Changing an IP address within an existing network can result in the inability of other users to access the BMS. Requirements The printer can be used as a network printer via Ethernet (10, 100, 1000 Mbit/s) and TCP/IP or it can be connected locally via USB. The following requirements must be met in order to install the printer. You must work with the maintenance options ( Installation level: Maintenance options ). To do this, the maintenance dongle must be plugged into the BMS computer. lternatively, you can install the printer using the customer dongle. To do this, the optional software module SM83 configuration module must be enabled. Software version 8.28 or higher must be installed on the Neutrino BMS. The printer must be connected to the power supply using the supplied power cable. NOTE Further information on the printer such as the operating environment, printing resolution and the printer cartridges that are to be used can be found in the technical data sheet. The printer is preconfigured in such a way that the IP address is automatically assigned by default. If this is not applicable for you setup, you must manually configure the IP address using a HTTP Web browser. Enter the IP address assigned to the printer in the HTTP Web browser on your computer (e.g. Further information on this and on the factory settings can be found in the user guide for the printer on the provided CD. 4 Datasheet EN Issue Setting Up the Printer as a Network Printer To configure the printer as a network printer, you must first of all perform the following preliminary steps. Retrieving Printer Configuration Data The printer supports the TCP/IP network protocol which is used, among other things, for the automatic assignment of IP addresses. The IP address can be retrieved using the printer s operator panel. To assign the printer a valid IP address, connect the printer to the network. If a network connection exists, an IP address is automatically assigned after approx. 2 minutes. Press the X key of the operator panel for at least 3 seconds: The configuration page with the IP address is then printed. Note down the IP address (example: ). You need the IP address to set the printer up on the Neutrino BMS and to make the printer known on the network. If no IP address is specified on the printed configuration page, please wait a few minutes before printing the configuration page once again. Configuring the Printer on the Neutrino BMS Computer To print documents from the Neutrino BMS (prerequisite: Neutrino BMS software version 8.28 or higher), you must apply the following settings in the BMS menu Tools > Configuration : Open the BMS function group and select Printer. Select the option New from the Edit menu. The Printer Configuration window then appears, where you make the following entries. Enter the name and location of the printer. You are free to enter whatever you want. Once installed, the printer can be more easily identified on the BMS using these specifications. Select the manufacturer HP from the list provided. For BMS version 8.28 and higher, select the type Deskjet Color (600 dpi) and for BMS version 9.2 and higher, select the type OfficeJet 6100 Foomatic/hpijs as the printer driver. Select TCP/IP Raw as the operating mode. Server name: Enter the IP address of the printer (e.g ). Enter the port number of the printer; 9100 is standard. Other entries should be verified beforehand by your network administrator. Confirm your entries with OK. The configuration is then saved. The BMS must be restarted for the configuration to take effect. The printer can be used after the BMS is restarted. Page 4 / 6

5 Issue Datasheet EN Setting Up the Printer as a Local Printer The printer must be connected to the Neutrino BMS using a USB cable (max. one printer). To print documents from the Neutrino BMS (prerequisite: Neutrino BMS software version 9.2 or higher), you must apply the following settings in the BMS menu Tools > Configuration : Open the BMS function group and select Printer. Select the option New from the Edit menu. The Printer Configuration window then appears, where you make the following entries. Enter the name and location of the printer. You are free to enter whatever you want. Once installed, the printer can be more easily identified using these specifications. Select the manufacturer HP from the list provided. For BMS versions 9.2 and higher, select the type OfficeJet 6100 Foomatic/hpijs as the printer driver. Select USB as the operating mode. Select the host name of the BMS as the node. The BMS automatically enters its host name (e.g. server ). The printer can be addressed by other BMS units or operator stations within the network using the host name (if correctly configured). Select the interface /dev/usbpar0. Confirm your entries with OK. The configuration is then saved. The BMS must be restarted for the configuration to take effect. The printer can be used after the BMS is restarted. Setting Up the Printer for Consecutive Log File Printing With the BMS program MLFUNCTION MESSGE DISPLY, malfunctions occurring in the technical building equipment are displayed as malfunction and system error messages. You can print a malfunction message log if the printer is set up for consecutive log file printing. To configure the printer for consecutive log file printing, perform the following settings in the window BMS Configuration instead of those described in the preceding two sections: Select the type T Deskjet 550C Foomatic/pcl3 as the printer driver version (to do this, the operating mode must be set to TCP/IP-RW and the port number must be set to 9100). In BMS configuration, select the menu item Settings. Select Malfunction messages and set the Type of malfunction message print out to Postscript and collected in the Print tab. Save this configuration with OK. In order to activate consecutive log file printing, check the Consecutive log file print, direct printout checkbox in Printer configuration and confirm by clicking OK. NOTE The printer can also be addressed by other BMS computers within the network using the host name. The print image can be adjusted using the specific settings for the printer ( Printer configuration > Settings > Print settings ): The printer driver works on the assumption that the pages do not have margins. Because of this, you must first print a test page and then adjust the margins as needed. Click the Standard button if you want to reset the margins to the default settings. Page 5 / 6
