1 TouchMotion AWD Programmerr V1 Update Procedure This update procedure will correct current connectivit ty issues and solidify functionality on your V1 HPA TMAP. Please read the following instructions carefully before attempting the update process. In order to update your TouchMotion AWD Programmer, you will require a Windows XP (SP3), 7, or 8 based PC and a male-to-male USB cable. NOTE: If you are updating with the control box installed in your vehicle, please ensure the USB cable is long enough to reach your PC s USB port. 2 You will receive an containing download links to two files. The files are coded specifically to the serial number of the device denoted in the . It cannot be installed on any other TMAP device. A label bearing the serial number is located in three places: on the Touchscreen Interface, on the Control Unit, and on the original packaging. NOTE: Some settings may revert to the default settings during the update. Please write down any custom settings you have selected so you can restore them after the update is complete. Dealers; please ensure any customers who purchase units off the shelf are provided with the correct update file for their serial number. First Process Control Box Update 1. Note the folder where you have placed the two files from the (tmap-update- 00##.exe & TouchmotionAWD.apk). 2. Download the USB drivers from this link to the same folder as the other 2 files: 3. Extract TMPA_Drivers.zip into the same folder (Right-click the downloaded.zip file and then click Extract All Files) 4. Plug the one male end of the USB cable to your PC and the other end to the TMAP control box. Windows 7/8: a) For Windows 7, click Start, then right-click My Computer (or Computer) and click Manage. Then in the Computer Management window, on the left, click Device Manager. b) For Windows 8, point the mouse to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Search. Type Device Manager in the search box, and click on Device Manager on the list of items found. c) Find the HPA Bootloader or Coty Built Converter entry (because there is no driver found automatically you will see a yellow triangle beside this line). Right-click the device and select Update Driver Software.

3 d) In the Update Driver Software window, select Browse my computer for driver software. e) Click Browse and navigate to the folder where you have previously extracted the zip files. f) Click OK when this folder is selected. g) Back in the Update Driver Software window, click Next. Windows will search for the driver and install it automatically. h) When done, click Finish. Windows XP: a) Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. b) The System Properties window opens. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. c) Find the HPA Bootloader or Coty Built Converter entry (because there is no driver found automatically you will see a yellow triangle beside this line). Right-click the device and select Update Driver Software. d) Select the following option when the Hardware Update Wizard asks to connect to Windows Update: No, not this time. Click Next. e) Select the following option: Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), and then click Next. f) Select the Don t search, I will choose the driver to install option, and then Next. g) Click the Have Disk button, and then click the Browse button. h) Navigate to the folder where you have previously extracted the zip files. i) Locate and highlight the stmcdc.inf file and click the Open button. j) Click the OK button. k) Click the Finish button when done.

4 l) If prompted, click the Yes button to reboot. The driver should now be loaded. 5. Once the driver installation is complete, the computer will be able to recognize your TMAP control box. The next step is to update the unit with the files that you downloaded from the . This process is straight forward. NOTE: If your control box is installed in your vehicle, please have vehicle ignition OFF during this process. 6. Make sure your TMAP control box is plugged in to the PC with the male-to-male USB cable. Run the.exe file in the folder by double clicking. This will open the update window and the process will begin automatically. 7. When the update process is finished, you will be prompted. Click Finish.

5 Second Process Touch Screen UI Update 1. Copy the TouchmotionAWD.apk file from the to the root directory (NOT in a folder) of a MicroSD card that has at least 15 MB of available space. 2. Plug the Touchscreen Interface into a car or wall charger and power it ON 3. Insert the MicroSD card into the slot on the side of the Touchscreen Device and follow the prompts on the screen: You will see a screen titled Installation Blocked Tap Remove Ban You will see a screen that says Replace Application Tap OK You will be asked Do you want to Install? Tap Install You will see a screen that says Application Installed Tap Open then power off the unit The entire update process is now complete and you can now install/reinstall the TMAP on the car. After installation, test to ensure the display reads Controller Active. Restore any custom settings that may have been reset to default during the update procedure. ERROR MESSAGES In the unlikely event you should encounter an issue during the installation procedure, make note of the error number or details. Please then attempt the update process once again. If you are still having problems, please find the log file (TMAP_Update_log.txt) in the folder where the update files are saved and contact HPA by with the log as an attachment.
