4 Purpose Introduction The purpose of this document is to provide an overview of the ARGUS Symphony v1.6.5 Release. The features and functions documented in this release document are either new additions to the Symphony platform or have been substantially updated. This document is not intended to be a complete and comprehensive list of all changes or resolved defects included in the Service Pack Release. System Requirements Software Requirements 1. 5 Features in ARGUS Symphony (Business App Toolkit) 1.6 The following are additional features added to ARGUS Symphony in Service Pack 1.6 and Business App Toolkit: Title Create Custom Portfolio & Property Reports Certificate Generation Custom Forms Custom Data Grids Manage Web Forms (AE 10.1 Functionality) User Management and Security New Feature Description Reports will be created using an external SSRS report tool. Typically, Microsoft SSRS Report Builder 3.0 or Visual Studio will be used to create these reports. Permitted Users can add/upload these reports into Symphony for use within the system. The Symphony Installer will allow administrators to generate a new certificate without being forced to use a third party tool. The encoded value can be generated and copied from the Symphony Configuration Utility. Users can add related records to the currently active asset or subentity (Lease, Loan, etc.) in a custom form that is accessible at the Property Level in ARGUS Enterprise. These forms can be customized to align to their business and reporting processes from the Symphony Administrative Console. Users can add information linked to a sub-entities such as leases, loans, or expense items within a property in AE, in order to increase efficiency by viewing information in one place. Users can perform the following tasks: View multiple records in a data grid view Add records to a Data set that are linked to the specific sub-entity and Property in AE Delete records from the data grid from within AE Edit multiple records at a time in Symphony using the Datasheet View. Administrators can manage web forms with the following abilities: Link ARGUS Enterprise to the appropriate Symphony instance Create Web Forms Select Datasets and Forms to Expose in ARGUS Enterprise Assign permission rights to Users Administrators can manage users and security by using any of the following added features: Add a user in ARGUS Enterprise without being forced to manually specify security in Symphony View Custom Property Level datasets and forms without logging into a separate application Specify report level permissions for Custom Reports in Symphony to protect sensitive information Ensure custom information entered in a property via AE is secure and can only be accessed by users with permissions to view that property ARGUS Software, Inc 5

6 Known Issues and Workarounds in Symphony (Business App Toolkit) The following are known issues and their workarounds in ARGUS Symphony 1.6 and Business App Toolkit: Issue Uninstalling Web Application Description/Possible Workaround In select environments where this problem persists, run the Uninstaller twice to successfully uninstall the application. Importing with different file extension to map a dataset Importing a select file, generated directly from html, failed to import because the OLEDB reader could read the file. If the user saves the file with a new name or a different extension the file behaves correctly. Argus Enterprise Compatibility ARGUS Symphony version 1.6 is compatible with Argus Enterprise 9.5 and later versions. Argus Enterprise 9.0 and earlier will not import correctly in ARGUS Symphony 1.6 To work around this, import the old incompatible Argus Enterprise files into Argus Enterprise 9.5, and then export them. They will now be compatible with ARGUS Symphony 1.6. Please note, the Business App Toolkit / AE Integration is only available with AE 10.1 and Symphony 1.6. Business App Toolkit Audit Records to Excel Limited to 20,000 rows description of deleted datasets remains in set up form Power Search ignores special characters When using Organization Id - ODBC connector must use the <Organization Id> as the name in the Directory Label. The ARGUS Enterprise integration with Symphony allowing for direct integration of and Forms, Datasets (Grids), Property Level Reports and Portfolio reports is only available in ARGUS Enterprise This functionality will not be available to previous versions of ARGUS Enterprise. Resolved in Users can export multiple times using the sorting and filter options to reduce the number of records displayed to fewer than 20,000 each time in order to send all data to excel. Please note ARGUS Symphony 1.6 will only export the filtered records. ARGUS Symphony 1.6 will continue to show the description of the last data set or import map on the setup dataset or setup import map screen if the user has deleted the last dataset or import map. This only happens where the user have deleted all datasets or import maps. Power Search will ignore Special characters within a search query, and will treat these as blank spaces. So 1@1 would bring back the same results as entering 1 1. Try to use terms that do not have special characters. The user must use the Organization Id for the Directory Label when setting the ODBC Connector. Do not use any other name when setting the ODBC connector in the QlikView management console ARGUS Software, Inc.

7 Issue Description/Possible Workaround When using Organization Id user must manually create the folder in the Documents section with <Organization id> as folder name. Create a folder under the default report path named with the Organization Id (C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Documents\<organization id>). Use this folder as the root folder for all settings which would normally use (C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Documents) as the root path. Overriding a report in the Setup Reports screen User may have reports with the same name on different reporting levels (i.e. portfolio, property). When a user overrides one of these existing reports with a new uploaded report, the validation message will appear over the Report Setup screen of the first report sharing the same name. No action needs to be taken, since the correct report will have been overridden, and no changes will have been done to the other report. Switching filter types does not work immediately in Audit screen Filter should work if the filter type is selected first, and then the text is entered. If it seems to get stuck on the previous filter settings, click the desired filter type again or hit enter multiple times. During Install: Web Service installer fails to prompt the user to elevate UAC permissions to Administrator on Windows Server 2012 R2 When setting up a new field in a Dataset As a work-around, users should either a) Use the setup.bat batch file included with the installer b) execute the.msi for the web service installer from a Powershell prompt with elevated administrator privileges If a user changes the value in the Enable ARGUS Enterprise integration drop-down list, the Field Setup grid becomes disabled. The user should select the correct value in Enable AE Integration drop-down list before adding a new column. If a user creates a column and changes ARGUS Enterprise integration before saving, the field setup grid will become disabled. The user will need to cancel out of the new column and simply create another new column ARGUS Software, Inc 7

8 Issue File type specific ifilters must be installed for Power Search across binary objects Description/Possible Workaround The Symphony Power Search function uses SQL Server Full Text Search (FTS). Therefore, file type specific ifilters must be installed on the SQL server instance supporting Symphony for Power Search to return results across binary objects. Instructions for installing the ifilter for Microsoft Word file types are provided here: Setting up Microsoft Word Filters 1. Install Word ifilters. (Program can be found here.) 2. Open SQL Server Management Studio. 3. Right-click SQL Server, select New Query. 4. Enter the following text: sp_fulltext_service 'load_os_resources', 1 5. Run the query on the server. 6. Restart server. Word Filters should now work. Setting up PDF ifilter 1. Run installation, and follow all necessary steps. (Can download here.) 2. Open properties under Computer. 3. Click Advanced System Settings 4. Click Environment Variables 5. Find Path in System Variables, and click Edit 6. Add the install path s bin directory to the Variable values, along with the others. (In this instance, C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe PDF ifilter for 64-bit platforms\bin) 7. Restart SQL Server. Access denied for a user when user has been set up with different rights to a specific dataset at user level to the rights set at the group level. After updating Symphony, The Administration>Users and Administration>Groups pages are returning generic errors. As a work-around, Administrator should either a) Change the user s dataset rights to that dataset to mirror the group dataset rights to that dataset. b) Change the group rights to mirror the specific user s dataset rights to that specific dataset. Resolved in This issue only affects specific legacy updates to Symphony 1.6. This is related to custom SSRS reports, and may occur if old reports are present in the database before the implementation, and those reports are not present in the SSRS report folder.to fix this issue, please run the script related to TFS Item This script will be provided upon request ARGUS Software, Inc.

9 Fixed Issues in Symphony (Business App Toolkit) The following are fixed issues in ARGUS Symphony (Business App Toolkit) & 1.6.5: ID Release Area Description of Fixed Issues N/A Browser Compatibility Usability of the application was impacted when using the latest release of IE 11. Functionality and User interface fixes were applied to fully maintain compatibility with Internet Explorer 10 & Import Data Users receive an error when importing a dataset exceeding 50,000 records with multiple unique keys Import Maps Application times out when we set up an import map from a file with a large data file , Forms Changes to a form using the Form Designer or Code Editor can be lost if user saves the form without first Previewing the form , 70777, Forms Unable to copy a form created using the Form Code Editor and Form Designer in certain scenarios Installation & Upgrade When upgrading a Symphony installation where SSRS reports are present, the Users and Accounts page may throw an error Configuration If the "Reports Virtual directory" is named as other than the "ReportServer" both in the symphony conf utility and on SSRS web service URL, then if the user type the report server name/ip, it is throwing an error as "Invalid SSRS serverip/hostname Reporting If user deletes the existing SSRS reports folder and deploys to a new location, the user is then unable to view the reports in the Symphony application Forms Creating a form with 10 fields in a three column layout only shows the first 9 fields Data Export When exporting data from the audit log without first applying a filter in the case where the system has a large number of audit history records, the application may time-out due an excessive amount of content in the export file Forms Using an apostrophe in the label name of a field on the Form Designer results in a blank preview screen when the form is previewed Geocoding Locations with an invalid address or missing geographic information are plotted at 0,0 on the map causing the map view to zoom out to a global view Installation and Upgrades Upgrading Symphony database above 1.2 would cause conflict with the search functionality. Symphony 1.6 now handles the latest symphony database upgrade without impacting search ability of historic data Data Connectors When user would attempt to import data through a data connector then cancelled and tried again, an incorrect No data found to Import message was displayed when user attempted to import data in a particular scenario Reporting Reports were not being displayed in alphabetical order in the "Select Report" drop-down list. This has been fixed, so reports will be easier to find by name ARGUS Software, Inc 9
