5 Installing with FileNet P8 Platform on a single serer You can install a complete FileNet P8 Platform and IBM Case Manager ersion enironment on a single serer. The IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool installs and configures the FileNet P8 Platform enironment and the IBM Case Manager enironment automatically. Before you begin For details on the required ersions of the prerequisite software, see the IBM Case Manager V5.2.0 detailed system requirements. About this task The IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool proides a series of scripts that installs and configures all of the supporting software and applications to create a complete FileNet P8 Platform and IBM Case Manager enironment. When the automatic installation and configuration are complete, you can begin to use the IBM Case Manager applications. Because the IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool uses installation software in the electronic software deliery format, you must download all the software packages that are installed by the tool instead of accessing the packages on media. The packages are named with part numbers, which can change when updates occur. The installation tool uses generic component names instead of specific part numbers to run the installation. After you download the software packages, you rename them to the component names that are used by the tool. For added security, you can proide a new administratie password during the installation. The IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool uses that credential to install and configure all components. You use the same administrator password to log in and use the IBM Case Manager applications. Preparing the serer for a single-serer installation of IBM Case Manager Before you install IBM FileNet P8 Platform and IBM Case Manager on a single serer, ensure that you hae adequate disk space and security settings. The serer must meet the requirements for each of the installed components. To prepare your serer: Ensure that no IBM FileNet P8 Platform components or supporting software applications are installed on the serer. For an AIX or Linux serer that does not use Domain Name Serice (DNS) or Network Information Serice (NIS), erify that the /etc/hosts file contains the name and Internet Protocol (IP) address of all serers that the serer communicates with, including the local host. Ensure that the directories on the serer hae adequate free space. In addition to the 10 GB required for the installed binary files, the installation process requires the following free space: 1

6 Operating system Required space by directory AIX: /opt: 20GB Linux: Windows: /tmp: 3GB /home: 2GB /opt: 20GB C:\: 20GB For an AIX serer, configure the network ports. For details, see Configuring AIX. For a Microsoft Windows serer, install the required Web Serices Enhancements (WSE) 3.0 Runtime. For an AIX or Linux serer, erify that the unzip and gunzip utilities are installed. Downloading FileNet P8 system and IBM Case Manager software components Before you run the IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool, you must download the installation images for the required components of a single-serer IBM FileNet P8 Platform and IBM Case Manager installation. You must also rename the compressed installation images to the file names that are used by the IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool. About this task This installation includes the IBM Case Manager software and the FileNet P8 Platform enironment. You must download the following installation images: IBM Case Manager All IBM Case Foundation components, including the IBM Case Foundation Fix Pack, Content Platform Engine, the Content Platform Engine Fix Pack, Content Platform Engine Client and Fix Pack, and Workplace XT IBM Content Naigator WebSphere Application Serer software, updates, SDK updates, and update installer DB2 Version 9.7 for Linux, UNIX and Windows and license download package for DB2 Version 9.7 for Linux, UNIX and Windows Tioli Directory Serer You can download the images from ibm.com. Specific ersions of these components are required for the IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool. For more information about what ersions of software are supported for the IBM Case Manager single-serer installation, see Download IBM Case Manager V5.2.0 Platform Installation Tool Components. These downloaded packages are named with part numbers. The numbers can change when updates occur, so the installation tool uses generic names for each component. After you download the software packages, you must rename each image file to the component name that is used by the tool. 7 To download and rename the installation packages: 1. Log on as an administrator to the serer where you want to install your single-serer enironment. 2. Create a directory on the serer, for example, case_manager_downloads. Ensure that the olume that contains this directory has at least 10 GB of space. 3. Download the software installation images for the IBM Case Manager enironment to the download directory that you created. Select the appropriate ersions for your serer type and operating system. Download all of the following installation images: IBM Case Manager Content Platform Engine Content Platform Engine Fix Pack 2 Content Platform Engine Client Content Platform Engine Client Fix Pack 2 IBM Case Foundation IBM Case Foundation Fix Pack 2 Workplace XT IBM Content Naigator WebSphere Application Serer WebSphere Application Serer V8.5 Fix Pack 2 Tioli Directory Serer Client-Serer GS Kit for Tioli Directory Serer (This package is required only for Red Hat Linux.) DB2 Version 9.7 for Linux, UNIX and Windows DB2 Restricted License IBM Installation Manager The software downloads can take some time to complete. Do not extract the compressed installation images in the download directory. Important: Record each file name or part number and component as you download or copy the file into the download directory. Files that are named as part numbers might be difficult to identify when you rename them to the file names that are used by the installation tool. 4. Rename the compressed files to the names that are required by the installation tool. Change only the part number or file name. Do not change the file extension unless an extension is specified in the following table. For example, change CI1NDML.tar.gz, which is the installation image name for Content Platform Engine, to ce.tar.gz. Use the following new file names: Table 1. Installing a single-serer IBM Case Manager system After you download and rename the image files, you can install the single-serer FileNet P8 Platform and IBM Case Manager ersion enironment. You can run the installation interactiely by using the wizard, or you can run the tool silently from a command line by using an input file. About this task The IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool installs supporting software for the FileNet P8 Platform, configures the required databases, and configures users in the directory serer. The tool installs and configures all the FileNet P8 Platform components, including Workplace XT and IBM Content Naigator. The tool also runs the IBM Case Manager installation program, which installs the IBM Case Manager files. Finally, the tool configures and deploys the IBM Case Manager applications so that they are ready to use. Although the installation and configuration occur automatically and use default alues that are supplied by the scripts, the whole process can take two to three hours to complete. 4 Installing and Configuring IBM Case Manager with FileNet P8 Platform on a Single Serer

9 Installing a single-serer IBM Case Manager system interactiely The IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool installs the supporting software and primary components required for an IBM Case Manager enironment that includes IBM FileNet P8 Platform. After you start the installation tool and proide the necessary alues, the installation tool runs automatically. Before you begin For an AIX or Linux serer, ensure that the paths to the unzip and gunzip programs are in the PATH ariable of the installation user before you run the installation tool. On a Windows serer, turn off Windows system/security auto updates before you begin the installation. Automatic updates during the installation can cause the IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool to time out. To run the IBM Case Manager installation interactiely: 1. On Windows serers, turn off User Account Control (UAC): a. In the Control Panel, click User Accounts, and in the User Accounts window, click User Accounts again. b. Click Turn User Account Control on or off. c. Clear the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box, and click OK. d. Click Restart Now to apply the changes. 2. Log on to the serer where you plan to install IBM Case Manager. Operating system AIX Linux Windows Required credentials Log on as the root user. Log on as the root user. Log on as the local Administrator, not the domain administrator. 3. Naigate to the IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool software. 4. Open the CDroot/cmpit.properties file and change the LICENSE_ACCEPTED_# parameter to TRUE for each software component. 5. Sae and close the file. 6. Run the installation tool: Operating system AIX Linux Windows Command CMPIT-AIX-FP001.BIN CMPIT-LINUX-FP001.BIN CMPIT-WIN-FP001.EXE 7. In the first window, specify your locale and click OK. 8. On the Specify Download Directory window, click Choose to browse to the directory that contains the downloaded software components. 9. Optionally specify and confirm the administrator password. 10 10. Reiew the Preinstallation summary and click Install to begin the installation. The installation processes can take approximately two to three hours. Important: When the IBM Tioli Directory Serer Instance Administration Tool interface is displayed during the installation process, click the Close button in the tool window. Then, click Yes to confirm that you want to exit the tool. Results If errors occur, check the following files in the install_path directory: cmpit520_fp1_install_log.txt cmpit520_fp1_install_stderr.txt cmpit520_fp1_install_stdout.txt What to do next Before you erify your installation, update the WebSphere Application Serer security settings. Installing a single-serer IBM Case Manager system silently You can install the single-serer system silently by editing the alues for the installation the silent installation properties file. When you run the installation program from the command line, the program uses the alues in the properties file to complete the installation. Before you begin For an AIX or Linux serer, ensure that the paths to the unzip and gunzip programs are in the PATH ariable of the installation user before you run the installation tool. On a Windows serer, turn off Windows system/security auto updates before you begin the installation. Open the cmpit.properties file and change the LICENSE_ACCEPTED_# parameter to TRUE for each software component. 5. Sae and close the file. 6. Edit the cmpit_silent_install.txt file with the alues for your installation: a. Open cmpit_silent_install.txt for editing. b. Set the LICENSE_ACCEPTED parameter to TRUE. c. Set the USER_SELECTED_FOLDER parameter to the full path for the download directory that you created, for example, /download_path/ case_manager_downloads. d. Specify an administrator password that you can use to install all FileNet P8 Platform components and supporting software applications. If you do not enter a password, the installation program will use a default password. e. Sae and close the file. 7. Run the installation tool: Operating system Command AIX CMPIT-AIX-FP001.BIN -i silent -f cmpit_silent_install.txt Linux CMPIT-LINUX-FP001.BIN -i silent -f cmpit_silent_install.txt Windows CMPIT-WIN-FP001.EXE -i silent -f cmpit_silent_install.txt The installation processes can take approximately two to three hours. 12 Updating WebSphere Application Serer security settings for Workplace XT If you used the configuration tool to deploy Workplace XT, change the default security settings in the administratie console to enable Jaa applet support. Configure these settings after you run the Deploy Workplace XT task. If you manually deployed Workplace XT, skip this task. About this task For WebSphere Application Serer V8.0.0.x or later, the default security settings in the administratie console must be updated to enable Jaa applet support. These new settings enable non-ssl connections to Content Platform Engine and allow container-managed applications to pass HTTP session information to an applet. For a single-serer installation that uses the IBM Case Manager platform installation tool, you must use this procedure to configure these settings. To enable Jaa applet support on WebSphere Application Serer: 1. In the WebSphere Application Serer administratie console, naigate to Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications > Workplace XT > Session management. 2. Under General properties, check Oerride session management and click Apply. 3. Under Session tracking mechanism, click the Enable cookies link. 4. Under General properties, clear Set session cookies to HTTP Only to help preent cross-site scripting attacks and click Apply. 5. Naigate to Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications > Workplace XT > Manage modules > Workplace XT > Session management. 6. Under General properties, check Oerride session management and click Apply. 7. Under Session tracking mechanism, click the Enable cookies link. 8. Under General properties, clear Set session cookies to HTTP Only to help preent cross-site scripting attacks and click Apply. 9. Sae the settings to the master configuration. 10. Restart WebSphere Application Serer. Verifying the IBM Case Manager installation After you install IBM Case Manager, you can erify that all components are successfully installed. Use a browser to access the URL for each component. To erify the installation: 1. Check the Content Platform Engine installation by accessing the following URL: Verify that all status indicators on the Content Platform Engine Health page except for Fixed Content Deice and Content Cache Areas show check marks. 8 Installing and Configuring IBM Case Manager with FileNet P8 Platform on a Single Serer

13 2. Verify the Workplace XT installation: a. Access the following URL: b. Log in with the credentials that are proided in the install_path/ibm/ cmpit/accounts.txt file. c. Use Workplace XT to browse, search, add a document, and iew the Tasks page. 3. Verify the Case Manager Builder installation: a. Access the following URL: b. Log in with the credentials that are proided in the install_path/ibm/ cmpit/accounts.txt file. 4. Verify the Case Manager Client application: a. Access the following URL: b. Log in with the credentials that are proided in the install_path/ibm/ cmpit/accounts.txt file. Installing IBM Case Manager software updates The IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool installs ersion If any required fix packs or updates exist for IBM Case Manager, you must install these updates before you continue to use IBM Case Manager. About this task Software updates sometimes require a serer reboot. You must manually restart the components in your IBM Case Manager enironment on an AIX or Linuxserer. On a Windows serer, the components restart automatically. To install IBM Case Manager software updates: 1. Check IBM Fix Central to determine the latest IBM Case Manager updates. 2. Follow the instructions in the associated readme to access and install the fix pack. Remoing administrator passwords The single-serer installation uses the administrator password that you proided or the default administrator password to install and configure all of the software components. For security, after you erify that your IBM Case Manager system works correctly, you can remoe the plain text passwords from the installation scripts. To remoe the administrator passwords: 1. Copy the install_path/ibm/cmpit/accounts.txt file and put the copy in a secure or encrypted location. After you create the backup, delete the original file. 2. Restarting components in a single-serer IBM Case Manager enironment Serer maintenance and software updates sometimes require a serer reboot. You must manually restart the components in your IBM Case Manager enironment on an AIX, Linux, or Linux for System z serer. On a Windows serer, the components restart automatically. About this task If your single-serer IBM Case Manager enironment is installed on a Windows serer, all your components and applications restart automatically after a reboot. You must hae the passwords for your components and applications in order to complete the restart steps. To start IBM Case Manager components: 1. Log in as the root user. 2. Start DB2 by entering the following command: su - dsrdbm01 -c db2start 3. Start Tioli Directory Serer: a. Change to the Tioli Directory Serer directory by entering the following command: cd /opt/ibm/ldap/v6.3/bin b. Start Tioli Directory Serer by entering the following command:./ibmdirctl -h localhost -D cn=root -w password start c. Make sure that Tioli Directory Serer is running by entering the following command:./ibmdirctl -h localhost -D cn=root -w password status 4. Start the web application serer. a. Change to the profile_root/bin directory. profile_root is the directory path that contains your profile, for example: /opt/ibm/websphere/appserer/ profiles/appsr01. b.
