4 Introduction Epicor Manifest Installation Guide 1 Introduction Welcome to the Epicor Manifest Installation Guide This guide explains how to install your Epicor Manifest product. If you have any issues during the installation process, please contact Ship_Support@Epicor.com or call Pre-Installation This part of the guide explains the steps to perform before installing or upgrading your Epicor Manifest product. 2.1 Obtain Registration Key and Licensing Before beginning your installation, you must ship_support@epicor.com to obtain your registration key which will give the application access to your license. Note You will not be able to install the software without this key. You will also be provided an admin username and password that you will need to login for the first time. The following areas are determined by the license: General: Facilities Workstations Carriers (only purchased carriers are required): Endicia FedEx UPS DHL Functions: Hazmat International Paperwork LTL 2.2 Verify Prerequisite Release To use the latest release of Epicor Manifest, you must be running one of these versions: Prophet 21 ERP Version or later with SQL Server 4

5 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Pre-Installation 2.3 Configure Server Roles Use these steps to configure the required Server Roles and Features. If the roles already exist, you can still review the list of role features to verify that your roles are configured properly. Note Note that the steps are different based on your operating system. For more information on roles, role services, and features on Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2, use the following link: For more information on roles and features on Windows Server 2008, use the following link: net.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc aspx#bkmk_add 1. On the server, open Server Manager. From the Manage menu, select Add Roles and Features. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 2. The Add Roles and Features Wizard appears. In the Before You Begin section, review the information and click Next. 3. In the Installation Type section, keep the default Role-Based or Feature-Based Installation option selected. Click Next. 4. In the Server Selection section, verify your server is selected in the Server Pool list. Click Next. 5. In the Server Roles section, select the Web Server (IIS) role and click Next. 5

Click Add Features to confirm the installation. 6. In the Features section, verify that you selected the following.net Framework 4.5 Features to be installed for the Web Server role: ASP.NET 4.5 WCF Services HTTP Activation Message Queuing (MSMQ) Activation Named Pipe Activation TCP Activation Your screen may look similar to the following: 7

8 Pre-Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Click Next. 8. In the Add Roles and Features Wizard, confirm installation of the selected services. Click Next. 9. In the Confirmation section, click Install. The server roles and features are installed. 10. Close the Server Manager. 2.4 Set Up SQL Authentication Database Rights Database settings will be used during the Web Server setup procedures. If you use Integrated Security, windows will authenticate to the database with your domain user. If you can't use Integrated Security, login to SQL Server and do the following: 1. Create a user 'Manifest' with password 'Manifest'. 2. Assign System Administrator permissions. 3. On the Database Settings - Epicor Manifest Web Server dialog, do not select the Use Integrated Security check box (clear the check box). Enter the Database User Name and Password. Click Test Database. Click OK if prompted. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 8

9 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Installation 3 Installation This part of the guide includes the steps to install or upgrade your Epicor Manifest product on your server. Note that during the installation,.net Framework 4.0 will also be installed if it is not already installed. 3.1 Run the Epicor Manifest Installer 1. Log into the Customer portal at Navigate to Products > Epicor ERP version [x] > Downloads, where [x] is your specific Epicor ERP version. Scroll to Epicor Manifest and expand Version 3. Download the Epicor Manifest file for your specific version release. Extract the files. 2. To begin the install process, right click on the FullInstall.exe and choose Run as Administrator. 3. Epicor Manifest 3.3 requires.net Framework 4.0. If it is already installed, you may skip this step. If it is not installed, the Epicor Manifest installer launches the.net Framework installer and prompts you through the installation. a. When prompted, click the Accept and Install button. The Setup Progress begins and a progress bar is displayed. b. In the.net Framework 4.0 Setup dialog, select the I have read and accept the license terms checkbox. Click Install. The Installation begins. c. When the installation is complete, click Finish. 3.2 Install the Web Server Use these steps to install the Web Server. 1. In the Epicor Manifest Setup dialog, select the Web Server and Client Application check boxes. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 9

10 Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide 2. Click Install. 3. During the Web Server installation, a script runs to correct settings for IIS and ASP.net. This may take several minutes to complete. Your dialog may look similar to the following. Note If prompted that.net is already installed, click Close. 10

11 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Installation Note When using the full install process, you are prompted to install Microsoft Visual C++ if it is not already installed on your system. Select the 'I agree to the license terms and conditions' check box and click Install. When complete, click Close. Note If you already had Microsoft Visual C++ installed on your system, you may be prompted to repair. However, repair is not required. Note If IIS was not initiated properly with the installer, refer to the Troubleshooting section at the end of this document. 11

12 Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide 4. After the IIS and ASP.NET settings are corrected, the Web Server Setup dialog appears. Click Next. 5. Review the End-User License Agreement and select the acceptance checkbox. Click Next. 6. In the IIS and Application Pool Settings dialog, enter the Website Name and Pool Name. Both fields should follow the format of InsiteShipV3. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 7. In the Database Setting dialog, enter the relevant data into each field. The information must match the exact login information for SQL using Manifest. Use Integrated Security. Select this option if you want your database user name and password to use your windows authentication. If unselected the Database User Name and Password should be 'Manifest' as outlined above in SQL Authentication prerequisite steps. Database Server Name. Enter the SQL location and instance name. Database Name. Enter the Database Name as InsiteShipV3. Database User Name. Enter Manifest as the user. Database Password. Enter Manifest as the password. Your dialog may look similar to the following. Click Next. 12

13 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Installation 8. To test the connection and credentials, click Test Database. If the connection is successful, click OK. Click Next to continue with the installation. Note If the connection fails, alternative database info is required. Verify your login and password by logging into SQL. Then re-enter your database settings. 9. In the Custom Setup dialog, click Next to use the default web server location settings. If you want to change the settings, click Browse to select your location. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 13

14 Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide 10. In the Ready to install dialog, click Install. During the installation process, a progress bar displays showing the completion. 11. After the web server is installed, click Finish to close the dialog. 12. To browse the URL for the Web Server created, you must either update your host file with the site or add this site as a DNS entry on your network. To do this: a. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. b. Open the Hosts file in Notepad as administrator. c. If you would prefer to add a DNS entry for this site, add it now. 14

15 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Installation 13. Add the localhost name for the new Web Site that you created - InsiteShipV3. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 14. To retrieve the Server URL that will be used to login to Epicor Manifest, do the following: a. Browse the new website that was created. b. Open IIS via the Start menu by typing inetmgr into the Search programs and files field. If you already have IIS open from the first step, you may need to refresh the data. To do this, expand the tree and right-click on Sites and select Refresh. Your dialog may look similar to the following: c. Expand the Sites folder. Select the new InsiteShipV3 web site. From the bottom toolbar, select Content View. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 15

16 Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide d. To determine if the new Web Site is working, right click on Gateway.aspx and select Browse. Your dialog may look similar to the following: e. An internet browser window opens and the message Untitled Page displays if the site is setup correctly. In the browser field, copy the website URL. This URL is the server URL used to log into Epicor Manifest. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 16

17 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Installation Note If the following message displays "Server Error in '/' Application", this is due to the use of Integrated Security, and not having rights to see the database. To resolve the issue, use the following steps: Launch SQL Server. Connect to the database. Select Security. Select Logins. Expand logins and right-click NT Authority System. Select properties. 17

18 Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Select User Mapping. Select the database. At bottom of the dialog, select db_owner. Click OK. 18

Note If you receive any other errors or messages besides "Untitled Page", then the IIS settings or other information is not setup properly. Refer to the Troubleshooting section or contact Epicor support at 15. You must now verify that the InsiteShipV3 Application Pool s Advanced settings have an Idle Time-out of 0 and that the Enable 32-Bit Applications is set to False. To do this: a. In IIS, go to application pools. Select I nsiteshipv3. In the Actions menu at the right, select Advanced Settings. Your dialog may look similar to the following: b. On the Advanced Settings dilaog, set the Enable 32-Bit Applications and set it to False. Set the Idle Time-Out (minutes) to 0. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 19

20 Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide c. Click OK. 3.3 Install Client Application Use this section to install the Epicor Manifest client application. Note that during the installation, Adobe Air will also be installed if it is not already installed. This section also has steps to set up a new company in Epicor Manifest, including facility, workstation and user. 1. After the Web Server installation, the Client automatically begins to install since it was selected on the Epicor Manifest Setup menu during the installation. On the Install dialog, select the installation preferences applicable 20

21 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Installation to your implementation, including the Installation Location. Click Continue. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 2. During the client installation, wait for the progress bar to complete Install Adobe Air If your machine does not already have Adobe Air installed, you are prompted to start the automatic installation of Adobe Air. 1. You are prompted to accept the licensing agreement. Review the terms and click I Agree. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 21

22 Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide 2. When the installation has finished, the Epicor Manifest login appears. Enter the following: a. Registration code. The Site ID may be used as the registration code. It will give you a 45 day temporary license. b. Server URL. Enter the website URL recorded in step 14 of the Web Server install section. c. Username. Enter insiteadmin. d. Password. Enter the password that you have been provided when you earlier ed ship_support@epicor.com. Your dialog may look similar to the following: Note You can press Shift/Ctrl/F12 to clear the login and require a registration code entry. 3. Click Login. 22

23 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Installation Set Up Company 1. After you click Login, the dialog updates to include the Company field. Select Add New Company from the drop-down menu. Click Continue. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 2. In the Epicor Manifest Add Company dialog, enter the following information to set up your company: a. Company. Enter your Company Name. b. Registration ID. Enter your Registration ID (Site ID). The provided Registration ID is used for login and licensing. Note This field is case sensitive. c. Click the Save button at top right. The message 'Company created' may display. Click OK. d. Close the Add Company dialog by clicking on the X in the title bar. 24 Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide 3. On the Data Packager Import dialog, you begin to build several parts of the database. To do this: a. Select the licensed Data Package Names, numbers 1-6. b. Select your licensed Carriers, numbers 7 (can be more than one). c. Select your Integration Connection, number 8 (depending on your ERP database, such as Epicor ERP or Prophet 21). d. Select your Integration Job Definition, number 9 (depending on your ERP database, such as Epicor ERP or Prophet 21). e. Click the Process button. 24

When the data packager import is complete, verify that the selected items have a Status = Success. 5. Close the Data Packager Import dialog by clicking on the X in the title bar. 6. Logout from Epicor Manifest by clicking the red circle Logout button. 25

26 Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide 7. Log back into Epicor Manifest. To do this: a. In the Username field, enter insiteadmin. b. In the Password field, use the password you were provided. c. Click the Login button. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 8. After you click Login, the dialog updates to include the Company field. Use the drop-down menu to select the company you just created. Click Continue. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 9. In the Current Settings dialog, for the Workstation field, use the drop-down menu to select Default. Note that the Facility field autopopulates to Default. Click Continue. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 26

Click on the Company module to open it. 11. Enter the Address information and Save. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 12. Navigate to the Administration Menu. Change the name to accommodate the user's needs and enter the required fields that display a red asterisk. Any other information is optional, but recommended. Your dialog may look similar to the following: At this time, the address should correspond with the carrier account information because it will be used to Commision and setup the carrier information. 28

29 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Installation 14. Enter the Contact Phone number since it is required by some parcel carriers. Enter your Cube Units and Weight Units. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 15. Save your changes by clicking the Save button in the top button bar. 16. Navigate to the Administration Menu. Click on the Workstations module to open it. 29

30 Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide 17. Edit the Default Workstation to accommodate the user's needs and select a Weight Source. The Workstation field must match the Epicor workstation code. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 30

31 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Installation 18. Save your changes by clicking the Save button in the top button bar. 19. Navigate to the Administration Menu. Click on the Users module to open it. 20. Since there is no Default User, you must add a new record. Click the Add New button (green plus) to create a new user. 21. Enter the required information. The Password must be at least 8 characters in length. Select the Always Prompt for Current Setting checkbox. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 31

32 Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide 22. Save your changes by clicking the Save button in the top button bar. 23. After saving the user, you are able to Assign Roles and Facilities. Use the arrow keys to assign the appropriate role and facility. ISC_Admin users will have access to all menus while ISC_User only has access to the Shipping and Maintenance menus. 34 Post-Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide 4 Post-Installation This part of the guide includes the steps to perform after installing or upgrading your Epicor Manifest product. Tasks include the set up and installation of the Print Monitor, Windows Integration Service and Epicor Freight Service. 4.1 Install Print Monitor Use these steps to install the Print Monitor. Note that Crystal Reports will be installed if it is not already installed Set Up Folder Locations Before installing Print Monitor, you must setup the folder locations where the Print Monitor looks for print jobs and where report files (.rpt) reside. 1. On the server, create these folders: C:\Reports and C:\PrintJobs. 2. Verify your folder path looks similar to the following: 34

On the Epicor ManifestSetup dialog, select the Print Monitor and Windows Integration Service components. Clear the check boxes for Web Server and Client Application check box. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 2. Click Install. 3. If prompted to Modify Setup for Microsoft Visual C++, you can click Close since this was previously installed. 4. Print Monitor requires the installation of Crystal Reports. If it is already installed, you can skip this step. Close.net install dialog. If it is not installed, the Epicor Manifest setup launches the installer and prompts you through the installation. a. When prompted, click the Next button to continue. 35

On the Start Installation dialog, click Next to continue installation. The install begins and a progress bar is displayed. d. When the installation is complete, click Finish. 5. On the Welcome to Epicor Print Monitor Service Setup wizard, click Next. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 36

Your dialog may look similar to the following: 7. On the Directory and Default Printer Settings dialog, enter the required information based on your implementation and then click Next. a. Directory to Monitor For Print Jobs. Enter the location where the Print Monitor will look for print jobs. Default is C:\PrintJobs. b. Default Printer. Enter the name of the default printer. c. Directory to Store Report Files. Enter the location where the.rpt files will reside. Default is C:\Reports. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 37

On the Printer Settings dialog, for the Archive Print Job Files check box, select either True to archive print files or leave as False to discard files after printing. Click Next. 40 Post-Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Verify Credentials and Fonts for Using Print Monitor Service 1. At windows start option type 'services' and select 'Services' applications. When displayed, highlight the InsiteShip Print Monitor Service. 2. Right-click to open the Properties dialog. Select the Log On tab. Select the log on to This Account and enter your domain credentials. Click Apply and then OK. Your dialog may look similar to the following: 40

41 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Post-Installation 3. Restart the Epicor Print Monitor Service. Verify that the Status is "Started". The service may look similar to the following: 4. Review the log file located in the C:\InsitePrintFiles folder, which lists the printers that can be seen by the credentials used. If the desired printer is not listed, then the credentials do not have access to that printer and further setup is needed for those credentials. If the printer is not listed then the Crystal Reports templates will not be able to print. Your log file may look similar to the following: 5. If you are using Crystal Reports that contain barcodes (International Paperwork, BOLs, Container Labels, etc), you must install IDAutomation Fonts. To do this: a. Copy the fonts.zip file to the server where Print Monitor is installed. b. It is recommended you unzip the fonts in the C:\Windows\Fonts folder. c. Verify that the file unzipped correctly Set Up Application Settings 1. After Print Monitor is installed, log in to the application with the ISC_Admin user that you created. Navigate to the Application Settings screen. Review the following information which you will use to create four application settings for the group 'Printing'. a. Application Setting Name: PrintMonitorDirectory 41

42 Post-Installation Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Description Location of data and.mon files on the local system where the print monitor will locate them. This could be different in each facility. Example C:\PrintJobs\ Additional Notes Be sure to add the last backslash (\) after the folder name. b. Application Setting Name: ReportFilesDirectory Description Location on the local server where the Crystal Reports templates will exist. This setting is used to construct the.mon file. Example C:\Reports\ Additional Notes Be sure to add the last backslash (\) after the folder name. c. Application Setting Name: ServerFilesDirectory Description Location where the.xsd and.mon files will be placed by the server waiting to be picked up by WIS. If it is a local install, the server files directory and print monitor directory should be the same. Example C:\PrintJobs\ or C:\ServerPrintJobs\ (This will only be different from the PrintMonitorDirectory if it is not a local install.) Additional Notes Be sure to add the last backslash (\) after the folder name. d. Application Setting Name: SharedFileSystem Description If set to True, then the PrintMonitorDirectory and ServerFilesDirectory are pointing to the same file directory. Example True or False Additional Notes Set to false only if the Print Monitor is installed on a different computer than the Web Server and they do not share a file network. 2. To add the application settings, click the Add (green plus) in the tool bar. Enter the required information from the above tables. a. Group. Group options are populated from the Miscellaneous Codes data. b. Name. Name options are from the Application Settings Config. c. Facility. Assign if the user has separate facilities that use different setting. d. Description. Preset from the Application Settings Config data. e. Text. Based on the Value Type from the Application Settings Confiig data. 42

43 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Post-Installation Your dialog may look similar to the following: Note The printing application settings are very important and must be setup properly in order for report and label printing to work. Note During installation, you set up two folders one for the Crystal Reports (example: c:\reports\) and the other for where the Print Monitor will look for print jobs (example: c:\printjobs\). When the print monitor was installed, the template Crystal Reports for international documents, bill of lading, pack list, etc were imported into the Crystal Reports folder Set Up Printers 1. Navigate to the Workstations screen. Select the Documents tab so that you can set up individual printers and the # of copies to print for each workstation. If the user only has one workstation, the document types from that screen do not need to be setup here unless there is need for a separate printer distinction. Note Carriers such as UPS, FedEx, USPS - Endicia, Ontrac and DHL generate their own carrier documents and send the label or report string back to Epicor Manifest in the shipment reply XML. Those carriers only need to have the Carrier Label and Carrier Form document types included in the Workstation - Documents to determine the specified printer and # of copies. 2. To set up the individual printers and number of copies, do the following: a. Click the Add (green plus) icon to add a document type. b. Select the Document Type which links the document records from the other screens to the printer or # of copies for that workstation. The Workstation printer overrides the Document Manager printer. c. The Printer and # of copies settings on this tab override the Document Manager settings. If # of copies = 0 or no Output Type is assigned, then the information is pulled from the Document Manager. Note that only the Insiteadmin user has access to the Integration menu. During the Web Server and Client installation, the Integration Connection and Integration Job Definition data packages were imported for the user s ERP and Database. The Integration Connection holds the required data used for connecting to the Prophet 21ERP database to complete the Customer Refresh, Product Refresh and Ship Code Refresh. The data that was imported with the data packager includes the Name, Type and Runs On information. 2. For a SQL database, enter the following data to complete the Integration Connection: a. Name. The name is imported with the Data Packager. b. Type. Select SQLServer to identify your SQL database. c. Runs On. Select the WindowsIntegrationClient check box. d. Database. Enter the Prophet 21 database to connect to. e. SQL Server Name. Enter the name of the SQL Server. f. Login / Password. Enter the credentials to log into the server. g. Generated String. 51 Epicor Manifest Installation Guide Post-Installation Set Up Integration Job Definitions The Integration Job Definition data is imported from the 9_IntegrationJobDefinition_Prophet 21 data packager you selected on the Data Packager Import screen. These jobs contain ERP-specific business rules for exchanging data between the Manifest data base and the Prophet 21 ERP data base for CustomerRefresh, ProductRefresh, ShipCodeRefresh, ShipmentRefresh, ShipShipment, UnShipShipment and ValidateUnship as needed. Customers and Products are created or refreshed in the Manifest data base as shipments are processed from the Shipping Screen. As an alternative, they can also be created using the appropriate integration job which will build/refresh all the records as they currently are in the Prophet 21 ERP data base. This may be used for example at time of conversion in order to input additional information to a record that is not captured in the Prophet 21 ERP data base but is required for shipping. Enter the following data to complete the Integration Job Definitions: 1. Navigate to the Integration menu.
