2 Connected Backup New in this Release This section lists the enhancements to Connected Backup version Enhanced versions of several back-end components. This release contains the following enhanced back-end components: Connected Support Center / SSWS Improved startup times. Improved stability Reporting performance enhancements. Connected EMO Improved expiration processing for PST constituent file deletions. Corrected processing of deleted constituent files to fix PST retrievals. Better handling of the EMO cache directory when PST files are deleted from the system. Replication enhancements Improved replication of the Registry Database. Reduced replication traffic. Priority queues established in replication. Reduced and/or eliminated the effect that large queues have on product behavior. 2 Connected Backup Release Notes

3 Resolved Issues Resolved Issues This section lists the resolved issues in Connected Backup version CB Certain Support Center reports no longer lock the Registry database. CB SupportCenter online help is updated to include new Agent setting "Allow account access on mobile devices". CB Reduced Agent UI Error 7 pops up after Reboot/AgentService restart and upgrade from 8.5.x. CB Added reporting services field to techpermission for Reporting Services integration - Support Center changes. CB User account from LDAP sub-community can now log in to both AMWS and Management API. CB The exception during Backup when Data Selection view is expanded no longer occurs. CB Reduce the need to replicate rows when LDAPSyncher runs. CB Compaction inserts to the AccountBackupDates table unnecessarily being replicated. CB Diagnostic enhancements added around inserting authentication. CB File overwrite issue with MSI generation no longer occurs. CB The Web applications now cache database connections. 4 Connected Backup The AMWS limits on file retrieval have been raised. CB Failures while scanning the file Index.dat have been resolved. CB CFA sends specific constituent files on a notify instead of the entire PST being resent. CB-34626/CB BackupServer no longer holds locks on Setup.msi in Configuration, no longer causing SupportCenter startup to stall. CB SSWS java servlet error when clicking on access users online account from support center has been resolved. CB Full agent version is now displayed in the registry. This section lists the resolved issues in Connected Backup version that are now available to all languages. CB System info on german agent is included in zip CB Agents now supports large UNK tables in each copy of a Lotus Notes database.nsf file that they create. This ensures that Agents successfully back up large.nsf files in environments that use the Connected Optimizer CB ZipAgentCompact.bat is now working on German agent. CB The "Automatic Backup About to Start" prompt allows the end user to opt out. CB In Windows 7 environments, when you select the Back Up and Exit Windows menu, and then click Log off, Connected Backup now logs off your computer session after it backs up the account. Previously, Connected Backup would not log off the computer after it backed up your account. CB Connected Backup Release Notes

5 Requirements Zip Agent nows works on Japanese OS. CB When you select to back up more data than your allotted quota, the Agent now accurately calculates the TipRevisionUncompressed value as the amount of data it actually backs up. Previously, the Agent calculated this value as the size of all files that you selected even if it reached your allotted backup quota and did not back up all of the files. CB Enhanced progress bar during EMO reconstruction and added information on how many PSTs were being processed. CB The Activate command now supports the createdesktopshortcut parameter. This parameter directs the Activate command to create a desktop shortcut to the Connected Backup PC Agent or Mac Agent, as appropriate. Requirements System Requirements Important Notes Data Center Installation This section describes the system requirements, supported platforms, and software dependencies for Connected Backup For information about the system requirements, supported platforms, and software dependencies for Connected Backup 8.6.2, refer to the Connected Backup Requirements Matrix. Group Policy Objects (GPO) Considerations If you use Group Policy Objects (GPO) to harden your server with 64-bit Connected Backup to meet PCI standards, the Data Center Setup application cannot create Windows Scheduled Tasks for the DailyMaint, WeeklyMaint or LDAPSyncher applications during the installation process. 6 Connected Backup Autonomy recommends that you disable the GPOs or remove the server from the organizational unit (OU) during the Data Center setup process. This prerequisite ensures that the Data Center Setup application can create Windows Scheduled Tasks for the DailyMaint, WeeklyMaint or LDAPSyncher applications during the installation process, as required. Use SSL 3.0 or TLS 1.0 Protocols on Web Servers on Windows 2008 R2 For versions and later, ensure that the Web servers on Windows 2008 R2 SP1 use the SSL 3.0 or TLS 1.0 protocols for encrypting traffic. Disable SSL 2.0 on your Web servers. LDAP Enterprise Directory Secured via SSL For LDAP Enterprise Directory secured via SSL, ensure that the certificates are installed on the Support Center server and any of the following servers that it needs to contact for LDAP authentication and synching, including: Enterprise Directory server(s). 7 Important Notes DSPing and DSPing80 DSPing helps to diagnose connectivity problems. It is similar to the standard ping command, but uses the Data Center protocol rather than the ICMP protocol used by regular ping. DSPing80 also helps to diagnose connectivity problems, similar to dsping, but uses the Data Center security certificate to test connectivity between Agents and the Data Center.The DSPing and DSPing utilities are included in the Data Center Toolkit. A document in the Knowledge Base displays a version number in its name, such as IDOL Server 7.5 Administration Guide. The version number applies to the product that the document describes. The document may also have a revision number in its name, such as IDOL Server 7.5 Administration Guide Revision 6. 9 Documentation It is recommended that you periodically check the Knowledge Base for revisions to documents for the products your enterprise is using. To access Autonomy documentation 1. Go to the Autonomy Customer Support site at 2. Click Login. 3. Enter the login credentials that were given to you, and then click Submit. The Knowledge Base Search page opens. 4. In the Search box, type a search term or phrase. To browse the Knowledge Base using a navigation tree only, leave the Search box empty. 5. Ensure the Documentation check box is selected. 6. Click Search. Documents that match the query display in a results list. 7. To refine the results list, select one or more of the categories in the Filter By pane. You can restrict results by Product Group. Filters the list by product suite or division. For example, you could retrieve documents related to the imanage, IDOL, Virage or KeyView product suites. Product. Filters the list by product. For example, you could retrieve documents related to IDOL Server, Virage Videologger, or KeyView Filter. Component. Filters the list by a product s components. For example, you could retrieve documents related to the Content or Category component in IDOL. Version. Filters the list by product or component version number. Type. Filters the list by document format. For example, you could retrieve documents in PDF or HTML format. Guides are typically provided in both PDF and HTML format. 8. To open a document, click its title in the results list. To download a PDF version of a guide, open the PDF version, click the Save icon in the PDF reader, and save the PDF to another location.
