2 HP Connected Backup New in this Release The Compound File Analyzer (CFA) behavior has been improved to correctly back up the Lotus Notes.NSF and Microsoft Outlook.PST files. The HP Connected Backup version now officially supports Lotus Notes versions 9.0 and Resolved Issues This section lists the resolved issues in HP Connected Backup version Several resolved issues were also previously resolved in a release that had limited distribution. CB-34687, CB Stability issues have been addressed for Compound File Analyzer (CFA) running on 64-bit windows systems and CFA backs up Lotus Notes.NSF and Microsoft Outlook.PST files correctly. CB The Agent now backs up Microsoft Outlook.PST files correctly after an interruptions or failures encountered during the optimization process. CB The silent deployment of LDAP-configured accounts now behaves correctly and dialog screens for validation and synchronization are no longer displayed. CB-36828, CB The Agent now correctly reports backup warnings and errors when it encounters errors originating in the Master File Table (MFT). Previously the backup reported these as diagnostic messages. At times this could result in successful backups which missed files due to problems with the MFT. CB-37242, CB-37443, CB Issues in the communication between Compound File Analyzer (CFA) and the Agent service have been resolved. CB Scheduled backups on Windows 8 now reliably occur after system hibernation. 2 HP Connected Backup Release Notes

3 Resolved Issues CB In previous versions, the Agent would take an extended amount of time looking for changes while backing up large Microsoft Outlook.PST files. This has been resolved. CB-37396, CB-37457, CB Issues with the Agent constantly resending bookmarks.nsf and names.nsf files in Lotus Notes have been resolved. CB In previous versions, when backup failed during optimization, mail attachments were left in a cache directory location. This has been resolved. CB The Compound File Analyzer (CFA) behavior has been improved to no longer use tracker files in Lotus Notes. CFA no longer requires the hooks into Lotus Notes to track changes. CB An issue has been resolved with PST constituent files being locked by another process during the CFA phase and unable to be transmitted to the server. CB After upgrading and rebooting the Agent, the Agent no longer displays an agent launch failure dialog message. CB-37207, CB In a previous version of the Agent, several text strings were not properly localized into Japanese. These issues have been resolved. CB An issue with the Agent preventing Windows XP systems from entering standby mode has been resolved. CB-37877, CB In previous versions, backups would fail with ReasonCode <'23'> when the agent erroneously identified a problem with Master File Table (MFT). This issue has been resolved. CB The Account Management Web Services API method GenerateAgentSetup was updated as follows: HP Connected Backup Release Notes 3

4 HP Connected Backup Changed the name of the Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) package that the method generates to AgentSetup.msi. Previously, the method incorrectly created an MSI with the name Setup.msi. Corrected the MSI location information that the method returns. Requirements This release requires the following version of Connected Backup components: Connected Backup Data Center and later. 32- or 64-bit stand-alone, mirrored, or clustered configurations. NOTE This release, Connected Backup , does not support upgrade to Connected Backup The update to Account Management Website (SSWSAPI.dll) applies to Data Centers only. 5 Install Notes Install the Update to Account Management Website Before You Begin Download the v zip software package from the Autonomy Download Center to a location that each Account Management Website server computer in your environment can access, and then extract the package contents. To access the Customer Support Site, which includes the Download Center, go to: NOTE The update to Account Management Website applies to Data Centers only. To install Connected Backup Download the v zip software package from the Autonomy Download Center to a location that each Account Management Website server computer in your environment can access. 2. Extract the contents of the v zip file. 3. Use an administrator account to log on to the Account Management Website (AMWS) server computer. 4. Stop Internet Information Services (IIS). 5. Stop Apache Tomcat services. 6. On the drive where Internet Information Services (IIS) is installed, open the inetpub\wwwroot\sswsapi folder. For example, if IIS is installed on drive C, open C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ sswsapi. 7. In the folder, rename the file SSWSAPI.dll to SSWSAPI.dll.orig. 8. Copy the SSWSAPI.dll file from the location where you extracted the package to the inetpub\wwwroot\sswsapi folder. 9. Restart Tomcat services. 10. Restart IIS. 11. Log off of the Account Management Website server computer. 12. Repeat steps 3 through 11 for each additional AMWS server computer in your environment. HP Connected Backup Release Notes 5

6 HP Connected Backup Install Agent Fileset Updates Install the package that meets the language requirements of the Connected Backup Agents in your environment. You must install this release on each Data Center server computer with a Registry database. Before you begin To install this release you need the package that meets the language requirements of the Connected Backup Agents in your environment. Download the package from the Autonomy Download Center to a location that you can access from your Support Center and Data Center servers. To access the Customer Support Site, which includes the Download Center, go to: You must install the fileset updates on each Data Center server that hosts a Registry database. NOTE The location of these Registry databases depends on the type of Data Center configuration that you use In a stand-alone configuration, the Data Center contains the Registry database. In a mirrored Data Center configuration, both Data Center servers contain a Registry database. In a clustered Data Center configuration, the Registration Master servers contain a Registry database. To install Connected Backup Agent Files 1. If you support Connected Backup PC Agents, do the following: a. For English PC Agent file sets, extract the contents of the PCAgentFileSets folder from the release pcagentfileset.english ZIP package to the following folder of each Data Center server that hosts a Registry database: \DataCenter\Configuration$\-1\PCAgentFileSets b. For international PC Agent filesets, extract the contents of the PCAgentFileSets folder from the release pcagentfileset.international ZIP package to the following folder of each Data Center server that hosts a Registry database: \DataCenter\Configuration$\-1\PCAgentFileSets c. On the server that hosts Support Center, open the Windows Registry Editor, and then set the value of the MSIRefresh registry key to 1. 6 HP Connected Backup Release Notes

7 Install Notes The location of the key is based on the Support Center operating system: Windows Server HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Connected\SupportCenter Windows Server 2008 R2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Wow6432Node\Connected\SupportCenter 2. If you support Connected Backup Mac Agents, do the following: a. Extract the contents of the V macagentfileset.zip file to the \DataCenter\Configuration$\-1\MACAgentFileSets folder of each Data Center server in your environment with a Registry database. 3. Log in to Support Center using a technician ID that has the Refresh Cached Database State permission. TIP The Admin account created by the Support Center installation process has this permission. 4. Click the refresh icon in the upper left pane. The Support Center loads the new Agent file sets. 5. To verify the installation, complete the following steps: a. In the left menu, expand either Configurations > Mac or Configurations > PC, and then click Agent Versions. b. Ensure that the Agent list on the Agent Versions page contains the file sets that you installed for this release. c. Create a new Agent Version which specifies the release in the Agent list. NOTE To use a new release, each agent file set you install must be associated with an Agent Version. For more information on how to work with Agent Versions and Configurations, refer to Support Center Help. 6. If you installed PC Agents, use the Registry Editor to reset the value of the MSIRefresh registry key to 0. HP Connected Backup Release Notes 7

8 HP Connected Backup Documentation The documentation was not updated for this release. You can retrieve the current product documentation from the Autonomy Knowledge Base on the Customer Support Site. A document in the Knowledge Base displays a version number in its name, such as IDOL Server 7.5 Administration Guide. The version number applies to the product that the document describes. The document may also have a revision number in its name, such as IDOL Server 7.5 Administration Guide Revision 6. The revision number applies to the document and indicates that there were revisions to the document since its original release. Periodically check the Knowledge Base for revisions to documents for the products your enterprise uses. To access Autonomy documentation 1. Go to the Autonomy Customer Support site: 2. Click Login. 3. Type the login credentials that you were given, and then click Login. The Customer Support Site opens. 4. Click Knowledge Base. The Knowledge Base Search page opens. 5. Search or browse the Knowledge Base. To search the knowledge base a. In the Search box, type a search term or phrase and click Search. Documents that match the query display in a results list. To browse the knowledge base a. Select one or more of the categories in the Browse list. You can browse by: Repository. Filters the list by Documentation produced by technical publications, or Solutions to Technical Support cases. Product Family. Filters the list by product suite or division. For example, you could retrieve documents related to the imanage, IDOL, Virage or KeyView product suites. 8 HP Connected Backup Release Notes

9 Documentation Product. Filters the list by product. For example, you could retrieve documents related to IDOL Server, Virage Videologger, or KeyView Filter. Version. Filters the list by product or component version number. Type. Filters the list by document type. For example, you could retrieve Guides, Help, Packages (ZIP files), or Release Notes. Format. Filters the list by document format. For example, you could retrieve documents in PDF or HTML format. Guides are typically provided in both PDF and HTML format. 6. To open a document, click its title in the results list. To download a PDF version of a guide, open the PDF version, click the Download icon in the PDF reader, and save the PDF to another location. To download a documentation ZIP package, click Get Documentation Package under the document title in the results list. Alternatively, browse to the desired ZIP package by selecting either the Packages document Type or the ZIP document Format from the Browse list. HP Connected Backup Release Notes 9
