This connector replaces the OCS Archiving Connector, Lync Server Archiving Connector, and Lync Server Group Chat Connector. You can retrieve messages from an Office Communications Server (OCS), a Lync server, or a Lync Group Chat server. 13 September 2013 Copyright Autonomy Corporation plc and all its affiliates. 2 Lync Connector (CFS) The configuration parameter OperatingMode has been added. This parameter specifies the type of repository from which you want to retrieve data. The connector supports Lync The connector supports the Collect and View actions (for Lync 2013 only). The connector extracts data by connecting to the repository through ODBC. For information about the steps that are required to use ODBC, see Notes on page 3. The connector supports the SynchronizeThreads configuration parameter. This parameter specifies the maximum number of threads to use for each synchronize task. You can use the new configuration parameter StripContentFormatting to remove HTML and RTF markup from the messages retrieved by the connector. The database connection string, specified by the DbConnectionString configuration parameter, can now be encrypted using the Autonomy password encryption utility (autpassword.exe). For information about how to use this utility, refer to the Lync Connector (CFS) Administration Guide. XSL stylesheets used by the connector to transform documents can now contain embedded scripts. The connector runs script blocks contained in the stylesheets that you specify using the configuration parameters XmlTransformXslFilename, ChatXmlTransformXslFilename, ConfXmlTransformXslFilename, and ConvXmlTransformXslFilename. The connector supports the backup and restore actions. The backup action creates a backup of the connector s state. The restore action restores the connector s state from a backup. The connector supports the Lua function regex_replace_all. This function searches a string for matches to a regular expression, and replaces all of the matches. The connector provides additional information for document tracking. If you install the connector manually, it is no longer necessary to register DotNetConnector.dll for COM. 2 Lync Connector (CFS) Release Notes

3 Resolved Issues Resolved Issues This section lists the resolved issues in Lync Connector (CFS) version The character encoding specified for the output of XSL transformations was not respected. The output from an XSL transformation was always encoded in UTF-8. When the connector was started, scheduled tasks did not run in the correct order. Supported Operating System Platforms The following operating system platforms are supported by Lync Connector (CFS) Windows The documented platforms are the recommended and most fully tested platforms for Lync Connector (CFS). Other platforms may be supported and Autonomy can provide support for other platforms on request. Notes The Lync Connector (CFS) retrieves data by connecting to the repository through ODBC. To connect through ODBC follow these steps. To retrieve data through ODBC 1. Install an ODBC driver for Microsoft SQL Server, so that the connector can connect to the repository s database. 2. Create an ODBC data source on the connector machine, that connects to the repository s database. 3. Lync Connector (CFS) Administration Guide Lync Connector (CFS) Reference You can retrieve the current product documentation from the Autonomy Knowledge Base on the Customer Support Site. A document in the Knowledge Base displays a version number in its name, such as IDOL Server 7.5 Administration Guide. The version number applies to the product that the document describes. The document may also have a revision number in its name, such as IDOL Server 7.5 Administration Guide Revision 6. The revision number applies to the document and indicates that there were revisions to the document since its original release. Periodically check the Knowledge Base for revisions to documents for the products your enterprise uses. To access Autonomy documentation 1. Go to the Autonomy Customer Support site: 2. Click Login. 3. Type the login credentials that you were given, and then click Login. The Customer Support Site opens. 4. Click Knowledge Base. The Knowledge Base Search page opens. 5. Search or browse the Knowledge Base. To search the knowledge base a. In the Search box, type a search term or phrase and click Search. Documents that match the query display in a results list. To browse the knowledge base a. Select one or more of the categories in the Browse list. You can browse by: Repository. 5 Documentation Product Family. Filters the list by product suite or division. For example, you could retrieve documents related to the imanage, IDOL, Virage or KeyView product suites. Product. Filters the list by product. For example, you could retrieve documents related to IDOL Server, Virage Videologger, or KeyView Filter. Version. Filters the list by product or component version number. Type. Filters the list by document type. For example, you could retrieve Guides, Help, Packages (ZIP files), or Release Notes. Format. Filters the list by document format. For example, you could retrieve documents in PDF or HTML format. Guides are typically provided in both PDF and HTML format. 6. To open a document, click its title in the results list. To download a PDF version of a guide, open the PDF version, click the Download icon in the PDF reader, and save the PDF to another location. To download a documentation ZIP package, click Get Documentation Package under the document title in the results list.
