3 1. Introduction This document contains the release notes for SmartWord4TFS release. It describes recently added, changed, or deleted features of SmartWord4TFS Application. All users are encouraged to consult the release errata before installing application. The errata document is updated with late-breaking information discovered late in the release cycle or after the release. Smart Word 4 TFS *This case happens mostly in Office 2007, make sure above mentioned patch is installed. *It is highly recommended to use same or higher version of Team Explorer/Visual Studio as of Team Foundation Server. SmartOffice doesn't support "standalone TFS client for 2013" or Team Explorer Supported Team Foundation Server o VSTS - Visual Studio Online o TFS 2017 o TFS 2015 o TFS 2013 o TFS 2012 o TFS 2010 Supported Team Foundation Server Languages o o o o English Chinese Deutsch (German) French 3. 6 4. New Features VS 2017 Support: Now SmartWord4TFS supports Visual Studio 2017 latest release. Team Project Compatibility: Now user can connect single document with any team project or multiple team projects created on different templates. TFS Team Support: Now SmartWord4TS supports Team functionality. DISCOVER: New guided help has been introduced for novice users. SmartOffice Offline Help: Help and Discover contents have a separate offline installer for all user who have closed environment (do not have internet access). Proxy Support: Proxy Support is given in configuration to bypass License info in strictly closed environment. Team Project Enumerated Field Configuration: Enumerated fields value limit is configurable now. 5. Enhanced Features Installation: Installation time has been improved further and due to which performance is increased. Discover: Discover content is available for both environments i.e. closed environments (without access of internet) and environments where users have internet access. Refresh with Publish Feature: In case of Description rich text field containing Bullets or tables, Data would be auto refresh on Publish. This is only special case for it. SmartWord4TFS Query Window: UI has been improved and classified in to separate actions for user to select Reporting functionality OR Bi Directional Reporting. SmartWord4TFS Loading Time: Starting time for SmartWord4TFS has been improved. SmartPart: SmartPart name should be similar to name of section in wizard. SharePoint Access: Accessing with SharePoint has some major issues which are resolved now. SmartWord2016 Performance: SmartWord4TFS performance has been improved when used with MS Word edev Technologies Page 5 of 16

7 Process Template Fields: Identification of Team Project s PT have been improved and given support for heavy populated field values.(configurable) 6. Known Issues TFS API throws error on unidentified scenario on Publishing: On simple document saving and publishing, object reference issue is displayed on screen it is however occurring from TFS API but it is unpredictable, not occurring continuously. Removing space or data from rich text control causes data not fetching from server: If rich text control is left empty between two WorkItems on document or space is removed between two WorkItems type and data is unable to fetch from TFS. Template based document does not fetch query on Scrum Template: User cannot get results from Get Work Items and Query on document created from VSTS Scrum template. However, in some cases before fetching query results if Update Process Template is used. It would work fine. Progress Bar would be displayed after some processing: On Get Work Item, some operations are performed without displaying progress bar, those activities when performed on On-Prem TFS servers does not take much time so it is negligible for users but on VSTS it would be prominent. For updated Help in SmartWord4TFS, User has to perform Auto-update: User has to perform check for updates once to get updated help. For larger set of Users List in Process Template, Connectivity Time needs optimization: Process Template containing larger set of Users List would feel some time delay in connectivity with TFS Server from SmartWord4TFS. On Read-Only report Getting Data in Table Format data is not fetching properly: User On Read only report could face an issue of not getting data properly on specific scenarios. 7.
